Nice and roomy hotel room that easily accommodated our family of four. Cost from the airport is a flat €40 and from the train station it is €15. However if you are able to catch a Metro, the station is very close to the hotel. Supermarket, atm, McDonald’s is all located close by. Room is accessed via a bunch of keys and the front desk only operates until 9pm. We found reception very friendly, helpful and even organised taxi bookings for us. Can not provide a comment on the breakfast as we had to checkout at 5am which was a tad early for the kitchen staff. The room setup was two single beds and a family bed. The room also had a safe, lcd tv, refrigerator and tea making facilities. Good ample size bathroom and decent size shower. Location is good as the Main Street is just a short walk across and plenty of eateries around. Your typical European flea market operates right out your door in the morning and you can pick up pretty much anything.

A bed and breakfast, not a three star hotel. And there are no laundry service nor parking. And there is a mercato everyday in front of the hotel. Noisy. Not recommended. Well located. Good for a day in Catania.

Good afternoon Ours is a three star hotel and has every requisite. I think that the concept of bed & breakfast isn't really clear since you don't perceive the differences with a hotel. If to you it looked like a home in which the owners live that rent out part of the house to receive tourists (concept of bed & breakfast), I think there are serious judgement problems. The hotel is located in the heart of the city, therefore, like every other facility, it doesn't have a private parking and the small amount who may have it you must pay an extra. In any case, I don't think it's a problem since there is a multi-storey parking along our same street and another 3 not far from us. As for the laundry service, since we are situated in the city centre, there are many laundries, you just needed to ask the Reception. Regards Alessandro, HCT***

The room was dirty in the front of the market what causes a lot of noice. The staff was very rude. We paid diffrent price than we agreed without receiving the receipt. Definitely one of my worst hotel expirience.

Response from HotelCataniaTown, Direttore at Hotel Catania Town

Gentilissima. A presto.

We stayed at Catania Town for about 2 nights, and have absolutely no complaints. The staff were friendly, professional and spoke multiple languages (I noticed they understood Italian, English and French). The prime benefit of HCT was it's location. Located just off the Piazzo Stesicoro (which hosts it's very own Roman ruins in the middle of a traffic intersection), it is in the midst of the daily Catanian markets (which is a must do for a variety of interesting knick-knacks, fresh food and Sicilian oddities) and only 5-10min walk from most of the attractions of ancient Catania. The rooms were clean, spacious and airy, with wide windows and fully functioning bathrooms with decent pressure and temperature. Wifi was good, linens are provided and its accessible via the lifts, so is easier for those with accessibility issues. Breakfast is a decent buffet spread, with fresh coffee/hot chocolate/tea as specified. And there are heaps of brochures in the reception for tours and site-seeing opportunities.

This was a well-located hotel offering good value for the money. It is on the second floor of a building and was a bit difficult to find. It's also next to a early-morning "flea market" which could be a bit noisy. But it's right next to a subway station (with one stop to the train station) and very close to a bus stop. The staff was very helpful.

Stayed for one night. The Alibus stops near the hotel so it's very convenient. You can walk to downtown in 15 mins. Staffs were very friendly. Room was clean. Breakfast was good. Value for money. When we have booked. We chose 1 queen bed but there was not even 1 queen bed, we got only twin beds pushed together and it wasn't comfortable at all as there was always spece between 2 beds. For overall, if you need somewhere to stay near the city and doesn't want to spend a big money. The hotel catania town is a good choice.

- staff is very helpful, attentive and respectful - the room is fine, clean, with empty fridge you can use to store water, tv, air conditioning, the window can be opened - 50 meters away from Via Etnea, 15 minutes of leisurely walk from St Agata Cathedral (the elephant square). - 50 meters away from the Stesicoro bus station (for airport access) - the airport connection arrives every 30 minutes or so and is called Alibus. - supermarket and bio supermarket 150 meters away on Corso Sicilia - on the cons side, even though the place is cleaned daily between 10.00-12.00 the bathroom drainage system emanates some smell which spreads to the room. You may open the window to get rid of it, with the risk of having flies get in. - every day from 7.00 to 14.00 there's a rather large open air market in the street below the hotel and the adjacent neighborhood - that may provide access to cheap wares however has some downsides: noise in the morning from vendors when establishing their stands, lots'o'garbage immediately after market dismantling and no parking in the front. - reception is at first floor. There is an elevator but the stairs are the faster option. Overall very good experience, the only significant nuisance was imo the bathroom smell.

The airport bus drop us near the hotel. The hotel is next to a casino, you have to ring the bell to open the door. Our room - 106 - was big, clean, only there was strange smell, but if you open the window - all was OK. There are only Italian channels on TV. Breakfast was enough - boiled eggs, bread, croissants, cereal, butter, salami, cheese and etc. The espresso was excellent - best I ever had. Alessandro and the two girls (shame I do not remember their names) was super friendly and helpful. The hotel was near the Belini garden and the two main streets. The bus station with buses to Taormina and etc. is 900 meters away. The hotel is near some excellent restaurants. The market is quite noisy in the mornings, but it is manageable. We had nice stay at low price, excellent coffee and super friendly customer service.
