We_Crociferi is set in an ancient monastery, dating back to the twelfth century, recently restored. It is located in Cannaregio, a district in the core of Venice, where you will experience a genuine, unique atmosphere, just two minutes away from the water bus stop Fondamenta Nuove. It offers both beds and decorated rooms with a modern, functional style. The rooms and the apartments are provided with private washroom and air conditioning. Some rooms also have kitchenette and lounge. The guests can enjoy some wide common areas, like two cloisters, laundry facilities, a café, a restaurant, a library and a study room. A hall for conferences and meetings is available as well. In the coffee bar meals and cocktails are served in the amazing cloister with tables outside. The lobby is open 24h and the personnel, young and multilingual, will provide you information and advice about where to go in town and off the beaten paths. The Wi-Fi connection is freely accessible in the common areas. During check-in and check-out you can benefit from a free, unattended luggage storage. We_Crociferi is pet-friendly: animals weighing up to 10 kilos are welcome, upon request. The building is 25 minutes walking from Venezia Santa Lucia train station 10 minutes from Rialto Bridge and 20 minutes from San Marco Square. It is also very close to the nightlife area of the city.

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.

I loved my 2 night stay. The boat from the airport drops you at the corner and it was very easy to find. The staff was so welcoming and friendly. The building is historic and interesting. I booked a bed in the female dorm but was given a single room with shutters opening on to a

I was honestly surprised to see our room. I thought it would be the hostel room with several bunk beds and lockers. But it turns out to be a spacious private room for both of us. So for me this is not a hostel at all! So we stayed in the 5th floor, like in a complex. It was

2 of the 5 nights I stayed at We_Crociferi there were water problems; first no water at all in the bathroom and then no hot water in the bathroom. While the problems were resolved relatively quickly, what upset me most is that when I went down to the front desk to inquire about

Dear Kait, We are sorry with the inconvenience regarding water in your room. It was a major problem of the water plant and we tried to deal with it as fast as possible. For any issue regarding cleanliness make sure to ask to our staff at the reception in order to solve the problem. We host regular live music events or “aperitivi” with a dj set. You can find the schedule at the reception!

The reception staff were lovely, and helpful, and it's a really interesting building, but unfortunately I felt like I was in a place all about making money. Something just seemed that it was about lots of people in and out and it felt a bit impersonal. I found out later the

January is cold and humid. There may be rain and floods! But inside the hostel it's warm, heating works fine. And there's lockers in the dorm rooms.

Hi there, sorry for the very late reply, we had some issues with email but I can defintely confirm that our hostel in Venice has few double bedded ensuite rooms available for next year (you can check pictures on our website!) Thanks for your enquiry, hope to see you guys around here! Regards Andrea

We stayed in a two bed room which had plenty of storage and wasn't that much more expensive than a room in the dorm. Well worth the money for the peace and security. The breakfast isn't worth the money - there are plenty of little tavernas very close by. (The orange juice is watery. The coffee is bitter - the only thing that I was able to eat was the yoghurt).

Hello, yes there are room keys. Moreover in each dorm beds are located in twin rooms (and you share kitchen and bathroom) and you have the key of the twin room as well. Best regards, Fabrizia
