Detailed Reviews
We spent two nights here for a family celebration, as we were looking for a special place to mark the occasion. On arrival we were upgraded to a junior suite, which was a lovely room, with period furnishings, the most comfortable of beds and many nice touches. Nice bathroom. The main feature of the hotel is it's historic splendour, with richly decorated rooms and a grand staircase. On days with bad weather breakfast is served in a giant frescoed ballroom; on fine days on a lovely terrace overlooking the Grand Canal. Some modern features work less well, with the internet constantly lacking oomph.
The hotel does feel a little staid. The breakfast staff were very jolly, but there is a bit of an absence of fun. Making greater use of the bar area would help as would opening the roof terrace more often.
The location is perfect with the Rialto and St Marks only 10-15 minutes walk away. Many good dining options close by. To finish your visit, enjoy the water taxi direct to the airport. The cost is 120 euros, quite competitive for a family of 4 when compared to the pricey public transport, and it only takes 20 minutes.

I have previously stayed in 3 other five star hotels in Venice and I have to say, this is now my favourite due to its location, charm & authenticity of a palazzo and lovely staff.
Spent 3 nights early February, celebrating my husbands birthday (which I had informed the hotel about). We were kindly upgraded to a junior suite on 3rd floor overlooking campo so very bright with side view to Grand Canale, felt very spoilt. Room was comfortable, spacious and bright, room 314.
First night we had very relaxed drinks in the bar, excellent dinner in small hotel restaurant. Food was delicious, only gripe, wine was very pricy.
Breakfast (included in room rate), was a decent spread with lots of choices including a juicer that you could use to concoct your own mix from the various fresh fruit choices on offer. Staff again were excellent in particular Stefano who was so charming and welcoming making us his best cappuccinos every morning!
One night we took recommendation from concierge for dinner, wanting an authentic, reasonably priced local restaurant, close walking distance. He made the reservation for us, we were not disappointed! From previous experience we have learnt to avoid all the hotel concierge's recommendations, so this was quite an exception, and happy we took it!
Location is fabulous. Even though you are on the main thoroughfare from Roma to San Marco, it feels quiet enough and great to have the Tragetto to cross over to the Rialto, very convenient!
Booking out of season we got a great deal but would happily pay more another time as this now is my favourite hotel in Venice!

We loved the hotel. Our room was perfect and the servicing of the room every day was exemplary. Breakfast was very good and was included in our rate which otherwise in Sept 2020 would be 30 Euros pp.. Attentive staff, lots of cheese, ham, fruit, pastries etc. all replenished and covered. Reception were helpful whenever we had a query and the location was perfect (just opposite the daily market). We would revisit this hotel and to be honest, I didn't want to leave.

We have stayed here several times before and always have a wonderful time. We love the location - right by a vaporetto stop and also a traghetto service to cross the Grand Canal by the hotel entrance. The palazzo building is beautiful and full of history. We had a room on the 4th floor which was very comfortable, especially the very large bed. Breakfast was great in a large room with painted ceilings, etc. The fruit in particular was very good and we enjoyed a breakfast glass of Prosecco every morning. We had a superb dinner in the hotel restaurant one evening. The service was top class and the food really great. We had salmon and mango salad, lobster pasta, Venetian style liver and mixed fried fish. Everything was absolutely perfect and could not have been better. The service was great throughout the hotel and the hotel concierge gave us some great restaurant recommendations for the other evenings that we were there.

We just stayed one night during the Covid crisis in August. We were greeted warmly by the desk manager who helped us to our room - we were quite surprised that he seemed to be doing all the work, and also that he was not wearing a face mask. We explored the hotel and although the piano nobile rooms were fabulous we were disappointed that the rooftop bar was closed during the week owing to lack of staff. We had a drink at the canalside bar and were concerned by both the presence of the feral pigeons and the lack of a facemask on the waiter. Back in the room found the lavatory seat was loose and the TV didn't work but couldn't find anyone at the desk to report it to until the next day. Breakfast was a disaster. Two staff and seemingly nobody in the kitchen. Waited 10 minutes without acknowledgement then sat down at and empty table. 10 more minutes and we managed to order a cappuccino. No offer of food. the people at the next table left in anger at the lack of service but left a plate of meat on their table. This was when the pigeons attacked. About 10, and then a seagull. Meat and bread splashed about the terrace. Crockery went flying. I grabbed the remnants and ran them into the kitchen. Waiting staff looked panicked -but at least they were wearing face masks. Finally managed to get a boiled egg and some bread, but the buffet was down to a couple of plastic pots of yoghurt, an orange and some dried fruit. I hate to be critical at this difficult time, but the management of this hotel has some severe problems and seem to be trying to run a 5 star hotel on a shoestring

Absolutely fabulous hotel. You can see the main reason it must attain 5 stars is the level of service. The staff were totally polished and happy to do anything asked.
The actual building is beautiful and steeped in history with amazing ceilings and lights and real old romantic palatial feel. The view from the roof is stunning with the glass flowers adorning the window boxes up there.
Rooms are very large, with a suite type feel to them, generous size bathroom with a bidet and numerous towels and toiletries, a powerful enough shower and hand held shower. Lovely big mirrors and plenty of space.
Breakfast was a nice selection of eggs, sausage, bacon, cold meats, cheeses, antipasti, pastries, home made cakes, fruit, yogurt etc- plus Prosecco!!
Great location, very easy to walk around and on top of public water taxi stop (we walked everywhere so didn’t use). If you want a trip to Murano and Burano the hotel organise a free private taxi to take you to the glass factory in Murano, then you can go on to Burano, but you have to take public transportation/own organised transport back (very easy and cheap)
The glass factory is interesting but a lot of very expensive items on sale, however no pressure to purchase anything.
Overall we had a fantastic stay here, would highly recommend and would certainly stay here again.

Phenomenal Venetian palace utilised as a hotel with a choice of rooms.
We stayed in a junior Segrado suite, the room itself was decorated in traditional Venetian attire, and was well presented, comfortable bed and good cleanliness. Undoubtedly the highlight of the room though was the rooftop terrace accessed through stairs within the room, and provided views of the Grand Canal, and Venice by roof, absolutely wonderful. Only improvement for the room could be tea and coffee facilities, however you could always get hot water and cups from the restaurant/bar staff
The hotel itself exudes Venetian character and wonderfully stately but yet unpretentious ambience. There are many communal rooms with fantastic decorative pieces aligning the ceilings and walls.
The breakfast was good, and the waiters were all very helpful.
The staff were of an exceptionally high calibre, very welcoming, no request too much, a special mention to Michael the night porter/front desk gentlemen who helped provide concierge services to us, recommended and booked some of our dinners for us as well as made recommendations on where to go during the day, a real shining star of the Ca’Sagredo team.
Positioned on the grand Canal and almost centrally in Venice it is well situated for exploring the landmarks, side streets and reaching the public transport for exploring over islands.
Overall a 5* rated experience, we would definitely stay again.

Loved our 3 nights at this beautiful Venetian Palazzo. We booked two rooms for a special birthday and were given 2 gorgeous rooms overlooking the little Campo San Sofia and Foscari Palace. We seemed to get a fabulous bargain through EasyJet Holidays . Both rooms were beautifully appointed with muted Venetian style furnishings ( not “tired” or worn as described by previous reviewer) . Everything very comfortable including the chairs and sofa in the suite. Bathroom was super with lots of places to put stuff and full sized bath. Lots of toiletries, bathrobes and towels (no face flannels) Breakfast including Prosecco for Bucks Fizz was excellent and served by typically Italian attired waiters - proper linen tablecloths and napkins . Excellent service. Hotel staff were all polite and helpful. The hotel was very quiet despite being near a busy shopping street. One major flaw which didn’t bother us two much was the erratic hot water supply. It was sometimes only lukewarm, For a 5 star hotel complimentary bottled water and nibbles would have been welcome. Don’t appreciate extortionate minibar prices especially as nowadays in good UK hotel now there is always a good hospitality tray .

The hotel is a large old palazzo. Some areas are very grand. But it lacks warmth and in great need of repair. In the bedroom we were not able to action the heating from the room. We had to instruct reception when we would like it turned on, at which point very very hot air blows in. After a few minutes, it becomes unbearably hot and we needed to call downstairs and ask them to turn it off. None of this was explained when we arrived.
So nights had to be cold (february 2020)... Also there was a techno concert outside our bedroom windows (it was carnaval) but had we been told of this proximity, we would not have stayed there and prepaid !
Under these circumstances, a gesture from the hotel would have made sure we returned. That was not the case.
Also a 5 star hotel should provide a water bottle in the room at night and a complementary coffee/tea machine.
The location is good and on the canal.
But unfortunately, we will not come back.

Ca Sagredo is a beautiful hotel. we arrived by water taxi and were received by a very helpful Receptionist, very friendly and helpful and proved even more helpful later in our stay. I didn’t get her name but thank you to you!
We had a junior suite, overlooking the grand canal and it was a lovely room and fab bathroom. Room was slightly over warm - couldn’t turn off the AC! But we just opened the windows! Breakfast was amazing, lots of choice and very friendly service. It’s a lovely hotel, so much history and quirkiness about it. Very centrally situated for everything. The only slight complaint is that there is no drinking water in the room and no tea/coffee making facilities/availability elsewhere in the hotel that we were aware of.
A perfect place to stay for a wonderful birthday trip to such a beautiful city.

I contacted the hotel and they arranged pickup at the airport for me. Go onto their website and you will see your options. We were picked up by car and taken to water taxi station and had private water taxi straight to hotel’s dock. If I recall correctly, slightly cheaper than full water taxi. Prices for choices were posted on their website. Have a great trip.
You can’t take a car to the island where Ca Sagredo is located. I would call the hotel and see what they recommend. Otherwise, I think I saw a parking garage by the cruise terminal and then take water taxi to hotel.
No, they use real keys. Keys just seem to be in keeping with the historic nature of the hotel.
Water taxi is the only way to go! Very memorable.
