This is by far one of the best hotels we have stayed in. Our initial thoughts of Venice were quite daunting as one of our party uses a wheelchair - but Hotel Al Codega is completely wheelchair accessible which made our stay very comfortable and relaxing. It has a elevator which leads up to the reception, bar and rest area. Our room was also located on this floor. We stayed here for four nights at the end of February 2022.

All the staff at Hotel Al Codega deserve a big thank you from us, they were so accommodating, helpful and diligent. This applies to housekeeping and the hotel chef/waiters who were responsible for the breakfast buffet in the morning. Salvatore and Michele spoke very good English (where we on the other hand, ashamedly didn't know a word of Italian) and went out of their way to ensure we had accessible transport for wherever we were headed. On one rainy night, Michele let us borrow an umbrella for the evening, which we were so thankful for as it was completely pouring outside!

The rooms were bright, well kept, clean and comfortable during our stay with new towels and the bed neatly made, daily. We had a mini bar, safe, climate control and additional blankets. The breakfast buffet was excellent in the morning, a selection of fresh fruit juices were available, along with hot drinks. The waiters offered eggs on toast, either scrambled or fried, and were very attentive. There was also a selection of sandwiches, meats, cheeses, pastries, fruit and yoghurt. A plethora of food available. As it was my birthday, I was very pleasantly surprised when the wait staff presented me with a decadent cake, even though my partner had not organised this with the hotel, they are so thoughtful!

Hotel Al Codega is about a three minute walk away from St. Mark's Square and three minutes to Rialto Bridge, it is very centrally located. It was easy for us to find and use the water bus (as any of the surrounding areas were inaccessible due to bridges). Again, the hotel staff were very helpful whenever we had questions about the water buses and tickets etc. There are many shops and restaurants in the surrounding area nearby to the restaurant, making it a very convenient and central location.

Finally, when it was our turn to leave, the staff had kindly organised some breakfast bags for us to take to the airport (5am) and a wake up call. We are so grateful to Hotel Al Codega, we will definitely stay here again when we visit Venice in the future, brilliant staff and excellent service. We will recommend this hotel to our family and friends!

I enthusiastically recommend the Hotel al Codega, located in a quiet courtyard in the San Marco district of Venice, mid-way between the Rialto Bridge and the Piazza San Marco. I stayed there for 9 nights in October 2021, while attending a photography workshop in Venice. I had a standard room, which was very comfortable and well appointed (if not large). The room included a safe, a mini-bar, tv, nice towels, and adequate closet space to hang clothes. The wifi was adequate for me to upload and download photos. The room included breakfast in the dining room, which included a selection of pastries, juices, eggs, quiches, and fruit as well as coffee. Best of all was the staff, who spoke very good English and were exceedingly helpful. Salvatore and Glaucia at the front desk were especially kind and helpful in arranging transportation to and from the airport, giving advice on local restaurants, and pointing me in the right direction to get a Covid test to return to the U.S. I will happily stay at the Hotel al Codego again and will recommend it to anyone looking for moderately priced, comfortable accomodation in Venice.

I spent 3 nights here with my partner for new year and his 30th birthday. We absolutely fell in love with Venice and with this hotel. Our trip was magical from start to finish!
The hotel was a little difficult to find, however we felt really silly when we had as it’s quite simple really, and all the buildings are numbered. The location is just lovely. So close to everything but feels secluded at the same time in its own little courtyard. Beautiful!
The staff were all super friendly, the room was small but clean, and we loved how traditional the style was. The breakfast was also gorgeous.
Would definitely recommend x

Location just 5 minutes walk from Piazza San Marco, the hotel is located is a hidden little square really quite and silent, but not so easy to find. Room and toilet have a decent size but the furniture old style is “too much”; during this Covid pandemic I would have avoid such a lot of pillows, curtains, tablecloths. More over the TV is inside the cabinet and it is the smallest television we have never found in a hotel room, honestly it seem a laptop monitor, really too too small. More over the cleaning needs to be improved: you can see al fingerprints of previous guest on the furniture. Due to Covid , you have to pre-book you breakfast the night before and it will be served to you by nice and smiling staff in the breakfast room next morning: there is a basic selection of food, but I would have preferred to be served without prebooking in advance. We just spent here 1 night and the only reason was the great location close to Piazza San Marco.

Our first trip to Venice and the Al Codega hotel will certainly not be the last. The hotel is set in a quiet courtyard minutes from St Marks square and the Rialto bridge. The service is nothing short of excellent, attentive, knowledgable and friendly. The room EPA’s beautifully decorated and furnished, very comfortable. The breakfast went beyond what we expected with a very wide selection to meet all tastes. Overall so,ply great we will be back.

Stayed three nights at Al Codega in May 2022. Al Codega is a small boutique near the Rialto Bridge and St. Mark's Square. The hotel is located in a hidden courtyard. But, once found, it is easy to navigate back to. The rooms are quite small by US standards but contain everything one needs. Rooms include WiFi and daily maid service. The rooms are very well maintained. Extremely clean and neat. The staff are bilingual and very friendly. They were able to answer all our questions and point us in the right direction with restaurant suggestions.

The highlight of your stay at Al Codega is the buffet breakfast. The assortment of dishes is amazing. Accompanying the buffet is the ability to order eggs and bacon, a breakfast frappe, and special coffees. We would fill up on breakfast that would last us until dinner.

A unique feature of Al Codega is that the elevator always stops on the second floor in front of the reception desk. Be sure to smile and wave to the receptionist on your way up or down.

As an aside, to attest to the exceptionalism of Al Codega, I booked a two night stay in 2019 using the nonrefundable hotel rate. Obviously, we could not travel in 2019 or 2020 but Al Codega held our reservation for the two years. Al Codega honored my prepaid rooms two years after they were booked. Something they certainly did not have to do.

In summary, if you want to visit Venice and stay at a perfect hotel in the center of town, choose Al Codega. You won't go wrong.

My stay at Hotel Al Codega was excellent for several reasons. First of all the hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Venice. Venice's most famous spots are all within 10 minutes walking which is really nice. Also the rooms at Hotel Al Codega are spacious and beautifully furnished in typical Venetian style. The staff at the hotel is very friendly as well and always greeted me when passing the service desk. The breakfast was tasty and the ingredients were fresh, therefore I always started my day off good at Hotel Al Codega!

This boutique hotel, just steps from San Marco and Rialto, is a real gem! Set in a quiet courtyard, it is easily reached from the Rialto Alilaguna stop without having to cross any bridges. The rooms are beautifully decorated, the linens are of high quality, and they supply slippers as well as the usual shampoos, lotions and so forth. The breakfast buffet is truly amazing, with something for everyone's taste, but it is the kindness of the staff and their willingness to help and advise that truly sets Hotel al Codega apart.

We recently stayed at the Al Codega for 3 nights in Venice as part of a longer trip to Italy. It is a very nice hotel; with traditional decor. The hotel is located in a very quiet courtyard, but is very centrally located with access to all that Venice has to offer. Prior to our trip I communicated with the hotel about various details of our stay and always received a prompt, courteous and helpful response.
When we arrived, the staff was very welcoming and had wonderful recommendations particularly for restaurants. Coming from the US, we needed COVID tests, and the staff provided us with all of the information we needed to be tested. And while COVID makes everything more challenging the staff was always accommodating, and did all that they could to ensure that we had a wonderful stay in Venice.

The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. The breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of options including eggs and bacon or pancakes offered each morning. The breakfast serving staff were quick, very nice and also offered several coffee and tea options. The hotel location is great being about halfway between the Rialto Bridge and St. Mark's Square, though finding the correct path to the hotel can be a challenge at first, even with the hotel's map, explicit instructions, and Google maps.

One of the hotel staff recommended Muro which was about 20 minutes walk from the hotel but definitely worth it. It was in a quiet area away from the tourist hotpots so better value. It's worth asking the hotel staff for recommendations and they will mark them on a map for you.

We've stayed at this hotel many times and have always had nice reasonable dinners at Vino Vino. Ask them to reserve a table for you in the garden. All the gondolas seem to charge the same price. Even though the evening rides are more expensive, I'd recommend the evening ride. It's really romantic.
