Detailed Reviews
We were delighted to stay here, after a fantastic booking offer we found right after New Year’s Eve. The hotel is located at the best possible spot near Rialto bridge and only 5 minute walk from piazza San Marco. Staff is wonderful, breakfast delicious, fresh and with vast variety, and the suite was ideal size for two adults and two children. Nespresso coffee machine in the room was a huge plus! We strongly recommend staying here for families as well as couples, it is also romantic in decor!

Excellent hotel in an outstanding location very close to Rialto Bridge, bang in the centre of the city: nice junior suite with very comfortable bed and good air-conditioning; excellent shower pressure. There is also a superb roof terrace bar, from which one has a view of the Campanile in St Mark's Square. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel, preferring to go to little bars instead, so can't comment on that. I was worried about water taxi availability during the film festival but needn't have been. The excellent reception staff sorted out a total of three water taxis for us during our stay and we we were always accompanied to the taxi stop near Rialto by a member of staff. This was a nice touch. By the way, the hotel clearly has some clout with the water taxis as there was never any messing about over price. Everything was played with a straight bat. One driver even dropped us right outside Locanda Cipriani on Torcello (see separate review), as opposed to just leaving us at the landing station a quarter of a mile from the restaurant - as all bar one have done in the past, despite my asking to go right up to the Locanda. Overall a great stay in a lovely hotel. Thoroughly recommended.

+1
Perfect hotel for our quick 3 days in Venice. My husband and 2 teenage daughters were very comfortable in our room. It was spotless, the beds are extremely comfortable (super firm, which is what we like) and the amenities such as slippers, water and espresso maker were greatly appreciated. The bathroom is very spacious, opulent compared to our teeny tiny bath in our Rome Air BNB. The front desk staff is friendly and efficient and the hotel's location can't be beat. We were disappointed that the rooftop bar was closed (we were told it was due to the high winds). Ali took great care of us at the beautiful lobby bar and was a delight to chat with. We highly recommend this hotel, it will not disappoint!!

Beautiful hotel situated very close to the Grand Canal. We found the hotel quiet, didn’t hear noise from the street or other residents in their rooms, only in the hallways. Having a quiet location is important to us, therefore we requested a quiet room when booking. when we arrived we were given a room directly opposite the lift. They did move us no problem despite reception already having told us they were very busy. 2 other points for noting, the hotel don’t appear to let anyone check in before 2pm, regardless of rooms being ready and they certainly don’t let you have a late check out. What frustrated me was they lie, they say they’re full when they’re not. We found some of the reception staff very rude when discussing this. We would have happily paid to keep our room for a few hours, but not another expensive night. Other important thing for us was the roof terrace- it’s the reason i chose the hotel, but it’s not really a roof terrace it’s a ( very expensive) roof top bar only, you can’t go up and sit there in the morning it’s closed. We wouldn’t return to the hotel.

Booked Hotel a la Commedia through agoda after seeing all the pictures which once we got there was just as show. Staff were very friendly a big mention to Andrea on front desk and Mario tending the bar but all staff were a credit.
Such a beautiful hotel was 2 minutes walk from Rialto bridge so location was perfect everything nearby like st marks square which was 400 approx away. Rialto vaporetto stop to and fro marco polo airport was very close too.
When we were taken to room we fell in love with the decor.
We will definitely be staying at Hotel a la Commedia again.

This hotel is easy to get to from the Rialto stop; Even though it says the 2 line goes there, if you take the 1 line (slower with more stops from Piazza Roma) you won't have to carry your bags over the small bridge steps . (the 2 line goes to Rialto, but that pier you will have to bring your bags over the small bridge steps). Hotel staff was very helpful. Room was very comfortable, AC worked well. Nice water pressure in the shower. Beds were comfortable. There was a special outlet in the room that you could plug a US plug into. Breakfast was fair, basic scrambled eggs ; bacon and toast with yogurts; croissants ; fruit; cheeses and some meat. I believe there was also granola/cereal. Americano coffee very small, typical of Europe. I could hear the street noise which I am sensitive to: died down by 11/11:30pm .
The hotel offers an evening boat tour down the Grand Canal and around Venice City center island. That was a great time with stunning views.
Hotel is in central location. Highly recommend

Hotel was very easy to get to from the airport. We splurged and took a water taxi to the hotel, 70€ each and took only 30 minutes. The public water bus would have taken almost 2 hours for 21€ each. Pleasant accommodations and service from the staff. The bed was a little hard for our comfort and breakfast was not included as advertised through Trip Advisor. I will definitely stay there again and book directly through the hotel to get the breakfast included.

I stayed in a triple room with my 2 kids (aged 21 and 17). The room was really spacious and comfortable. The air conditioning was a welcome relief as the temperatures outside were 34 degrees...being from the UK, we're not used to that kind of weather! The room was very clean, as were all areas of the hotel. Whilst the location is in an area with restaurants and shops, it wasn't noisy at all.
The location of the hotel is ideal as it's around a 2 minute walk from the Rialto water bus stops A and B so it's great for being able to get around on the water bus. Also, we had an early return flight and the hotel arranged for a water taxi to pick us up at 4am from the area besides the water bus stops, which was really handy.
The staff at the hotel are all very friendly and extremely helpful. As mentioned above, they arranged our return transport to the airport. They also recommended places to eat and gave advice on where and how to book a gondola.
The rooftop bar is also worth a visit during your stay. It's a secluded spot to enjoy a peaceful drink in lovely surroundings. The hotel very kindly put a tv on for the Euro final which was great for us as we didn't have to try and find a bar screening it.
There are so many choices of hotel in Venice, but I would highly recommend Hotel A La Commedia to stay at. I've visited Venice twice now and would definitely book here again if I do return.

Great location, near St Marks square & hotel reception very helpful with giving advise. We had a great room, very comfy bed. Roof top bar lovely. This hotel was recommended by friends & we would stay here again and definitely recommend to others. Hotels in Venice can be really expensive. We felt this was mid range on cost which gave us what we needed for our trip.

I recently stayed 3 nights at the Hotel A La Commedia with my family while on vacation on Venice. I can not say enough great things about our stay and the staff at this hotel but let me start with the basics.
Location: So Great! The hotel is a 5-min walk from the Rialto bridge and Rialto water bus stops. But its away from the madness of the Grand Canal and located in a very cute square. A super short walk away are some great shops and restaurants and cafes. It was an absolutely great homebase for our venice adventures.
Room: We had a Junior Suite on the 3rd floor, and it was lovely. It was spotless clean, and blended modern with vintage Venice decor. The bed was HUGE and super comfortable. The room was just the right size for 2 adults and our teen. The bathroom was also huge and spotless. We had a cute little balcony off the suite which was great for getting some fresh air.
Breakfast: We booked a room rate that included breakfast, and it was a perfect way to start the day. The buffet had simple standard breakfast offerings and great coffee.
Staff: So this was the highlight of the stay. The front desk staff were all so friendly, helpful, and fun (especially during Carnival).
This is a perfect example of a well run, smaller boutique hotel. It was charming, priced right, and just a perfect way to kick off our vacation!

With waterbus (no 2) is cca 12-15 minutes
I do not know. I took the bus from the airport to the main vaporetto terminal and than walk. I do not think that hotel will have any van. taxis do not enter Venice, scooters neither.
