On the banks of Giudecca Island, a thriving artistic centre of Venice, stands a modern Venetian Masterpiece. The Molino Stucky, once a flourishing flourmill, is now internationally recognised as one of Italy’s iconic pieces of industrial architecture. Beautifully restored, it now houses a hotel unlike any other, offering a different view of Venice. A bold statement, with 379 rooms and suites, the hotel manages to balance intimacy with scale. A place of comforting guest bedrooms and unrivalled restaurants, ballrooms and meeting areas. Guests enjoy the best of both worlds. A short, five-minute boat ride from the heart of Venice, Giudecca Island provides peaceful respite from the intensity of the city and is exceptionally well served by easy access to the airport and rail station. If all this isn’t enough then there is the largest spa in Venice, outstanding service, fine dining, rooftop pool and bar with breath-taking views over the city and shuttle service.

Giudecca is a retreat for Venetians away from the crowds. Symbolically, six metal teeth represent Venice’s six sestieri (districts); the seventh, Guidecca, points away from the others – part of Dorsoduro, but separated by the Giudecca Canal. Giudecca evolved from a center of shipyards and factories to a quiet residential area with a sprinkling of restaurants and bars. The majestic harmonious Redentore church stands as thanks for delivering Venice from the plague, hosting an annual heartfelt festival.

We entered the lobby to a mad house. Seven cruise ships in port with the travelers ending in Venice staying here. We had 70 cruisers trying to get a room with the crowd. The hotel worked hard to take care of all of us. We had a room on the 3rd floor with a view of the Grand

This hotel is a restored sugar mill and is gorgeous and historic. The staff is amazing. It is located in the Grand Canal across the canal from the main square. There is a free water shuttle that takes you back and forth every few minutes. Truly an amazing experience.

Exposed beams, lovely chandeliers and amenities. Great decor.
2nd floor room facing Giudecca Canal. Gorgeous room, gorgeous view!
Marco Polo is about one half hour to the docks at Venice. You can ask for a taxi near the cruise ship docks. The water taxis are expensive, you be better off taking a water bus to the Hilton, or St Marks. If you are staying at the Hilton, they provide water taxis to St Marks and back through out the day, but make sure you check with the concierge. Hilton provided free shuttles, trips to Murano, and cheap Tix to the Doge Palace plus a couple museums.

There are some small shops and a co-op, 7/11 type shop within walking distance. It’s not huge but clearly where local people bought their everyday shopping.

We walked from the train station to the ferry station, which I don't highly recommend. Once we got to the ferry's it probably took less than 30 minutes to get to the hotel. Not sure if that's helpful?

Direct, private water taxi from Marco Polo to the Hilton is €120-€130 one way. You don’t need to book in advance - there is a booking office in arrivals (well signposted). There’s also the public water bus - one of the routes goes from the airport to the Hilton for a fraction of the price of a private taxi.

Executive lounge is disappointing at this property. However Diamond status wouldngive you free breakfast which is sensational! It would also allow you a free room upgrade which would mean a canal view - worth it for sure. Transport from airport can be by public transport Alilaguna for about 25 Euro stops directly outside property allow 90 minutes - private transfer can be booked via hotel or directly at airport boat terminal for same price around 140 Euro - 30-40 minutes. Museums depend on your taste but something for everyone. Must see - St Marks, Rialto bridge and just wonder around. If youbhave time take a trip to Murano island. Book your free slot for the roof terrace at Fondaco dei Tedeschi department store - stunning views! Enjoy
