We just left Pensione Guerrato after a 3-night stay and were very impressed with the customer service at this hotel. First of all, the hotel is literally less than 1 minute’s walk from the Rialto Mercato vaporetto stop. It’s also 2min away from the Rialto bridge. You can’t beat the location of this hotel… close enough to the center of everything and in a very safe area. The rooms are simple — we were in a family/quadruple room on the 4th floor — but they have everything you need and most importantly they are spotlessly clean! The floors are terrazzo and were squeaky clean during our entire stay. The beds were comfortable and we found both the room and the bathroom to be very spacious. There was plenty of hot water for those that like to take hot showers. The breakfast was ample: fresh croissants, boiled eggs, ham, turkey, mozzarella, Swiss cheese, two types of sliced bread, juices, milk, jams, Nutella, yogurt, whole fruit, and a huge coffee machine for you to select a latte, cappuccino, macchiato, hot chocolate, americano, etc. If I had one “negative” thing to point out about our stay, it would be that the room’s air conditioning was not ice cold, but it was cold enough, and this was something that was very common in the hotels we stayed at during our last 3 weeks in Italy (we were here during a heat wave). Our room faced a piazza with a few restaurants/bars and last night (Saturday) we could hear music and voices, but only just barely over the sound of the air conditioning unit. Now onto what set this hotel apart for us: the stellar customer service. Each time we arrived at the hotel we were greeted with a smile and a cheerful buongiorno. When we checked in, the gentleman at the front desk gave us a map and noted important transportation info (it was our first time in Venice so the local transportation is a bit different than in the rest of the world), and he suggested a great walking route for us to explore that neighborhood, which we advise everyone to do, because the piazzas and churches along the route are so beautiful… and he even gave each of our two teens a card of the hotel with the address and phone number, etc. just in case they got lost, so they would know where to get “home” — I thought that was very nice of him. One day the other gentleman at the front desk (with a very deep voice) helped us with detailed info on how to get to the Murano and Burano islands. Last night the young man at reception helped with detailed information on how to get to the airport this morning, including times of the vaporetto, where to transfer to get the bus to the airport and the times of the bus… he even had an early breakfast waiting for us this morning (breakfast usually starts at 7:30 but we left the hotel at 7:00)… customer service like this, when people go above and beyond, it is hard to come by, and we were extremely happy with our stay at Pensione Guerrato and will definitely stay here again the next time we come to Venice!

This hotel is a rare find. If you want a traditional Venetian style pension then this is for you. If you want high tech, contemporary and impersonal then ignore this hotel.
Each room is furnished in a simple traditional style. We felt every detail we required was covered. We had an en-suite double room (not all are en suite so be prepared to share a bathroom, but these rooms prices reflect this).
The staff are fabulous, so helpful and accommodating. Breakfast is typical of Venice and a lot of it served to you.
Beds were comfortable and spacious.
Staffed 24/7
Great location …near to touristic attractions but far enough to be quiet at night. Right beside a Vaparetto stop. Lots of good restaurants on the doorstep
We will be back

I stayed here 3 nights while visiting Venice and the location was perfect. Steps to public transportation (water bus), Rialto bridge, fish and vegetable markets and other sites. The hosts gave great advice about restaurants close by. I suggest an early morning walk in the neighborhood to get a feel for Venice as it is waking up. But don't miss the delicious breakfast at the hotel and the cappuccino machine! The room was well appointed and clean, plus the bathroom was very modern (which I did not expect in an older building). Make sure you know which floor you are booking because some rooms require climbing 4 flights of stairs.

We had a very pleasant stay at Pensione Guerrero for three nights. The hotel was charming and impeccably clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we particularly were impressed that the hotel arranged a specific breakfast sitting got us so that we could make an early morning train. We really enjoyed their breakfasts, especially the croissants, juice and coffee! The only drawback to our stay was that it coincided with a long weekend and our room was directly over an outdoor bar that did not close until 4 am. The noise from below kept us awake all night. This was not really the Pensione’s fault but it did detract from our stay. I would recommend staying at Pensione Gurerrato but beware that the rooms on the first floor can be noisy .

I can see why Rick Steves locks this place down for his tours! It is perfectly located for all sites, beautifully maintained, and run by some of the best hosts imaginable! They are amazingly communicative and very patient with frazzled tourists like this one! I was lost trying to find the waterbus terminal and was greeted with calm and thoughtful help. We stayed in the Apartment Fraia and it is fantastic. Every amenity, comfortable, and spacious! If I can, I will book this apartment every time I am in Venice!

This is my second stay at this establishment. I had returned this time on a family vacation. The room is clean and breakfast is standard. Location is GREAT!
Less than 3 min walk from the waterbus stop to the property (take a right after exiting the waterbus and property is on the left - 2nd alleyway).

I recently enjoyed my second stay at Pensione Guerrato and it was just as wonderful as I remembered. The charm and warmth of this place are truly unmatched. Nestled in an ideal location, next to the Rialto Mercato, it offers easy access to Venice's must-see landmarks and delightful eateries.
The rooms are cozy and brimming with historical character, perfectly complementing the ancient beauty of Venice itself. Cleanliness and comfort are clearly priorities here, and both of my stays have left nothing to be desired in those regards.
What really makes Pensione Guerrato stand out, though, is the staff. They are incredibly hospitable and go out of their way to make sure your stay is enjoyable.
Pensione Guerrato is a perfect blend of Venetian charm and welcoming atmosphere. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

My adult daughter and I recently stayed 2 nights at this charming b & b. We enjoyed the old fashioned ambiance and hospitality of the staff. This is not a modern hotel but, it has been retrofitted. There isn't an elevator. If you travel with light suitcases, it shouldn't be a problem. I found our room to be typical of many Italian inns where I have stayed. Italian rooms are much smaller than US hotel rooms. We were only in our room to sleep & shower. The breakfast was good & plentiful. The owner gave us great tips on restaurants where the locals eat. There were 2 vaporetto stops within a short walking distance to the hotel. I would stay here again.

The staff of the Guerrato are the best people I've ever experienced on all my travels. They will anything and everything to help and guide you, answer questions, give advice and directions and make sure that your stay is the best it can be. I've been staying there for 10 years for Venice Carnival and I won't stay anywhere else.
The location is just on the other side of the Rialto Bridge next to the Rialto Market. Perfect walking distance to everything, including the vaporetto stops. Great restaurants in the immediate area and lots to do and see.
The hotel rooms are spacious and impeccably clean. It's safe, relaxing and just wonderful!

This is my second time staying at the Pensione Guerrato. I have come both times with a photography group during Carnival. This time the extra care taken because of Covid was evident. But they still provided top notch friendly service. It is a lovely hotel very close to the Grand Canal and the Rialto bridge. Perfect location. But our group got special attention when one of our group got Covid. Roberto jumped into action moving them into an apartment nearby and then taking care of their needs until they tested negative and were able to go home. They are true hoteliers of the best kind

Buongiorno signora Joanna,
In order to reach our Hotel from the SANTA LUCIA VENICE TRAIN STATION, take the boat #1 (vaporetto line 1) with direction RIALTO and get off at the RIALTO MERCATO STOP. Near the Pensione Guerrato (i.e., Rialto Bridge) is now open daily this stop called "RIALTO MERCATO" that is closer to the Hotel and avoids the unpleasant task of hauling heavy luggage around the city. After disembarking from the boat stop, walk under the archway directly in front of you and then turn right. Continue in this direction and turn on the second left (there is also a sign indicating Pensione Guerrato).
Looking forward to meeting you soon
Kind regards
Monika
