    Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.

    Love this place!
    Hotel Moresco is so inviting. The staff made you feel special and greeted you with a welcome drink. They provide breakfast and an evening light buffet. The decor is rich and is influenced by the Moor culture. The rooms were very comfortable. I would gladly stay here again.

    Hello. I know the hotel helps to secure transportation from the airport, but do they also assist in transportation from the hotel to the cruise port? We will be coming into Venice a couple days prior to our cruise going out. How much is the cost for the transportation to the cruise terminal, and in what form of currency is accepted? Thank you.
    I would hail a taxi at the port to the Piazzale Roma, which is the bus depot and taxi stand a 5-minute walk from the Hotel Moresco. You have to walk across a small pedestrian bridge with your luggage, which is easy enough to do.

    Does the hotel have toiletries in the bathrooms? And do they have an iron ? Any help please
    They have very nice toiletries and great blow dryers. I don’t know about irons. They are great about answering questions via email, I’d just send them a message.

    Hello. How far in advance can you book a stay in this hotel? Also, what room numbers have the best views? Do any of the rooms have a balcony? Thank you.
    Good evening, you have to Book a room as early as you can.People order six months in advance. There are no balconies, but each room has a magical view.

    Is parking available? We are driving from Verona to Venice
    There are no cars in Venice but you can park at the bus station in Piazza Ramale. It's about a 5 minute walk to the hotel.
