We paid the small upgrade for the canal view room which was worth it for the price difference!
The room was spacious with plenty of storage space. It was very clean as well as clean and fresh linen and towels. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful!
The bed wasn’t particularly comfortable and, although absolutely fine, furniture and bathroom were dated. Be aware that (as with all centrally located hotels) you can hear noise from the square and from the canal as drivers go about their deliveries etc.
I would definitely stay here again for a short break!
Just think my frustration, having booked this trip for our anniversary. Trying to find another hotel in such short notice was extremely hard and we eventually ended up paying massive prices for a room you wouldn't leave a dog sleep in!
It is obviously this hotels policy to over-book and then cancel peoples rooms at the last minute, blaming the "system" for their greediness!
I called to Maurizio and gave him a piece of my mind and more when I did arrive in Venice, ruining young peoples trips like this is a disgrace!
Be very careful when so called booking with this hotel,I certainly wouldn't chance it again
1. We got a better shower at a motel 6. The standard was just apalling. You could take a shower while sitting on the toilet, no separate shower or even a curtain for that matter. and it was just disgusting with mold and cobwebs everywhere on the ceiling. It was far from the picture in the website. Apparently there are only a few rooms with the modern bathroom in the picture.
2. The king size bed is just 2 twin beds put together which means someone will eventually be falling through the "crack" in the middle.
3. No tv, hairdryer, and dim lights made you even feel more miserable.
4. The worst part was that even after bringing up these issues with the owner (the cool looking guy in the Italian suit in the picture) doesnt belong in the hospitality industry. He was not even interested in trying to make things right. We were there for 3 miserable nights and made no attempt to assist. He just brushed us off and told us to deal with it.
I guess thats what you get when there are more tourists than hotel beds.
Dont gamble you vacation by staying at this hotel...So much for Italian hospitality.
I had booked the trip as a surprise for my partner, and was a little cautious as the hotel was classed as one star and labelled as a 'budget hotel'.
However, the room we had was beautiful and could rival any of the rooms in these luxury hotels which cost 5 times more. We were welcomed at 9pm and ,despite the time, taken up to where the room was and given maps/directions.
The location is perfect, only 5 minute walk from everything yet in a slightly cheaper area for bars/food as it's not right by San Marco etc. (Also the bars around here seem better as the locals are drinking in them, not just all the tourists)
If you want a fantastic, luxury room, I would highly recommend booking a superior room in this hotel. The room we had was Venetian styled, with a four poster bed and luxury furniture and it was more than big enough. And please ignore the reviews by people who only have a bad word to say about the tv size, you're in Venice, you shouldn't be sat indoors watching TV anyway! The hotel decor was true to Venice style, and we wouldn't have wanted a modern room with modern features anyway.
Thank you for such a beautiful stay in your beautiful city!

"Room No 3 is looking at channel and another building across it. It big enough for two, and quiet."Read full review
