We stayed here from 11th - 15th February for our anniversary and Valentine's celebrations.

Hotel Bartolemeo is a real gem right in the middle of everything. It offered us an opportunity to enjoy the closeness of everything compared to our previous Venice trips.

PROS

1. 2 minutes to Rialto

2. 7 minutes to Piazza San Marco

3. Very affordable.

4. Clean and spacious. The size of the room we had could fit 3 persons so we were able to spread out comfortably.

5. Cooling and heating system was very responsive and convenient.

6. Bed was comfortable and large.

7. Location very close to affordable eateries (especially a pasta takeaway shop which serve very delicious pasta).

8. Modern and recently renovated.

9. Room was so quiet we felt like we were the only people there.

10. Staff very helpful, knowledgeable and spoke English.

11. Bathroom was very spacious and toilet flushed well (you'd be surprised how many places have issues with flushing).

12. Room was clean daily upon request.

13. WiFi was very strong and fast.

14. Room has a small safe and a fridge

15. Has an elevator, great for luggage.

CONS

1. Shower cubicle was small with nowhere to put items.

2. Shower doors also kept coming off the tracks.

3. Shower head was a rain fitting (no hand held attachment) which could be annoying if you didn't want to get your hair wet everyday.

4. Breakfast room was cramped and didn't have enough space for everyone. You had to sit uncomfortably close to other guests.

5. Furniture in breakfast room was small, uncomfortable and impractical (some chairs were just low stools without backs).

6. We had bites around our ankles (not sure if these were from fleas as pets are allowed in the hotel including the breakfast area).

7. Not sure if elevator is large enough for wheelchair.

Overall our stay at this hotel was very good and enjoyable. We will recommend it to others. It can be tricky to find at first but easy once you get used to it.

Thank you to the staff and keep the great work.

Hotel Bartolomeo was home for 2 nights while in Venice and what a delight it was. Minutes from Rialto bridge, just off Campo San Bartolomeo where the statue is , look for the sign for the WC , past the ATM & bank on the corner and down Calle dell Orso to where the hotel is located. It’s so easy to get lost in Venice but there is always something to see around every corner.

Checkin was pretty quick, passports copied and CC had already been authorized in advance so it was only the city tax of €8 to pay. Room was on the 3rd floor facing the street and apartments opposite but it was perfectly quiet , you did not hear anything at night or in the morning.

The room was a good size, spacious, modern and spotlessly clean. Plenty of space for everything. The bed was very comfortable, the wifi worked really well. Bathroom was a little narrow but very clean but perfect for the 2 nights. Easy to use shower . The AC was great and kept the room lovely and cool in the September sun. Everything was very modern and what you would expect in a chain hotel so top marks to Hotel Bartolomeo for providing such high standards in a 2* hotel.

Due to covid, there was no help yourself breakfast buffet, instead you were given a bread & croissant basket with a menu so you could order coffee, juice ham & cheese or hardboiled eggs, fruit , yoghurts & cereal. Plenty of choice and all included if you book the rate on their website direct. The seating in the breakfast room was a little low but you were not there for very long.

The staff were all great , friendly and happy especially the breakfast lady ( sorry I cannot remember her name) she also made up the rooms, she was fun !

I really liked the hotel & would not hesitate in staying there again and I will recommend it to anyone who is thinking of going to Venice. The location is perfect, right in the middle of everywhere. Bar Bacarando was right next door and handy for a night cap or spritz before heading out for the day / night and very , very reasonable prices for a bar in Venice !

Hotel Bartolomeo is rated as a Two Star hotel but should be much higher than this.
First, it is in a perfect location, a couple of minutes to Rialto Bridge, 10 minutes to St Marks Square and easily accessible to all the important tourist sites. It has an assortment of good restaurants and bars nearby, most of which are not expensive. Of course if you eat or drink at Rialto Bridge or St Mark's Square it will be very expensive but come back a street or two and prices are normal. A short walk will bring you to Cannaregio where we found some lovely cafes alongside the canal to enjoy a spritz and very tasty cicchetti in a relaxed atmosphere.
We were very happy with the hotel. Our room was small but we knew this when booking (we booked last minute and it was the only room left. There are bigger rooms available). However it was big enough for us and our cases. It was spotlessly clean a was cleaned every day,
Breakfast was very good and was better than we had expected. When you book directly with the hotel, they include breakfast which makes it much better value than booking with one of the third party booking sites (booking.com, hotels.com etc.). 24 hour check-in was very helpful, especially as we had a late flight to Venice.
The staff are very helpful and friendly which made our stay all the more enjoyable. A special mention for Martina at reception who made everything so easy from booking to checkout. Every hotel should have someone like her at reception.
I would highly recommend Hotel Bartolomeo for location, value, cleanliness and especially the helpful and friendly staff.

Bartolomeo is a delightful little boutique hotel, literally in the heart of Venice. This tastefully designed venue is located next to the Rialto bridge, although you will have some difficulty to find it the first time. Management and staff are friendly and the rooms are stylish and comfortable. We loved the rainfall shower. Do bring your own amenities as the little combined shampoo and gel sachets are not ideal. The continental breakfast buffet is small but fine. Close to the hotel you will find 2 outlets of the famous Suso ice cream place and 1 of the wonderful Farini pizza store. I would return to this hotel for sure.

The hotel was placed right in the middle of Venice a few moments from the Rialto Bridge and the Grand Canal. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops nearby.

The hotel is small less than20 rooms. Our room was very clean, modern and beautiful! The room was very nicely decorated and had a wardrobe, fridge, hairdryer, safe and was en suite. The fridge had soft drinks and a beer. Which was reasonably priced at 1.5 euros for the soft drinks. The AC worked well and was quiet. Wifi was available in the hotel and in the bar below. The view from our room was a courtyard. In London, a room with a view of buildings would be cause for complaint but in Venice it was amazing and quaint! The reception was manned 24/7 unlike a lot of the hotels. Breakfast is included in when you book directly with the hotel but 7.50 euros if you book with an agent. The breakfast is continental. You get a basket with croissants, biscuits, rolls etc. Boiled eggs, cheese, yogurts, cereal, fresh melon and cakes. Teas and coffee are also offered. The dining room is small but sufficient and decorated like the rooms. I have had buffet breakfast before with flies all over it, but this was lovely, clean and fresh. I also had just hot drinks in the morning for a couple of euros.

The reception staff were so helpful! They printed out our tour tickets and gave us directions to shops etc. When we were checking out they kept our luggage. I couldn’t find my phone so they helped me search the room and luggage.

The staff were all really lovely! The maids that waited for us so they could clean our room to the receptions staff and the breakfast lady!

This really is a wonderful little hotel in the heart of Venice with amazing staff! Thank you!

We recently stayed in Hotel Bartolomeo, which I found thanks to Tripdvisor and it didn´t disappoint. I chose it, mostly based on the value for money in relationship to the high ratings. And I am glad I did. In terms of location, we were never more than 10-15 minutes awau from any monument, church or restaurant. It´s a 2-minute walk from the Rialto bridge. We did have some trouble finidng it, even with the printed map as well as Google Maps. Once you get the hang of it, you will be fine. The hotel and rooms are tasteful designed and appointed. The rainfall shower was the best, although I suggest you to bring your own shampoo and gel. Breakfast was OK, not very special but it did the trick. Staff and management are very kind. I would definitely return and recommend Bartolomeo.

My wife’s sister had stayed at this hotel when she had visited Venice, and her reasons for recommending this hotel held true. It’s in an extremely convenient part of Venice, close to the Rialto Bridge, and never more than 20 minutes walk from anything you want to see in Venice.

Importantly, it matters that it has air-conditioning, and that you can choose to get larger rooms, which I recommend. All this at an exceptional value for just post Covid surge times.

I was pleased by the space in the room, though I did choose a larger room. there is enough room to hang your clothing in an armoir. The bathroom is clean, but space for bathroom items is tight. There is a bidette, and though most Americans don’t see them, they are useful. The shower stall is large, but there is no place put shampoo and soap, and since the shower head is an overhead rainfall type, my wife had to use a shower cap on the days she didn’t want to wash her hair.
But the number one plus was the lightening fast Internet that made connecting to my office painless and, somehow, it seemed our phones and laptops charged faster than in USA.

The location of the hotel is good, being only 10 minutes from San Marco Piazza where the main sights are, but the maze-like streets of Venice did make finding it difficult at first. Our room was clean and modern, although quite small, and the air conditioning was very effective! The Continental breakfast consisted of a buffet of pastries, fruit, cereals, some meats and vegetables, and hot drinks. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Overall, we had an enjoyable stay and would certainly visit again!

I stayed 1 night and it was a very pleasant surprise even having the very good reviews in this platform. I highly recommend it because of his great location, few steps away from Rialto Bridge and the commercial area and 10-15 minutes walk to San Marcos Piazza. The Hotel seems to be recently renovated, the breakfast is good but the best part is that his employees are very friendly and helpful.

We were absolutely delighted with our three night stay in this lovely hotel. It’s perfectly situated about three minutes walk from the Rialto Bridge and an ideal location for accessing the majority of the main sites in the city. An exceptionally good hotel, very friendly and very well managed. Can only highly recommend everything about the hotel, which definitely warrants a much higher star rating! Intend to revisit Venice in a couple of years and will definitely be rebooking Hotel Bartolomeo! Absolutely First Class !!

At the edge of the airport there is a whole dock ( bit of a stroll on those surveyor walkways but not difficult to find ) where taxi boats and bus boats wait for you. You can purchase your tickets there. A private taxi is more romantic, a bus is more economical. You tell them you need to go to RIALTO. Your stop is right near the bridge. You can’t miss it if you Google that bridge first in case you don’t know it. It’s a monument but they’ll shout its name anyways. From there it’s a very short walk to the hotel. No more cars in that area. Nobody picks you up, but with google maps on your phone you are there in no time.
