Nestled near the Rialto Bridge and Piazza San Marco, Hotel Gorizia A La Valigia boasts a coveted position that guests frequently applaud, citing no disturbances from noise. The establishment's charm is enhanced by its unique Venetian decor and spotless environment, with a cleanliness that consistently receives accolades. Many visitors are content with the comfortable rooms; however, some suggest they are quite basic, lacking certain amenities like tea/coffee facilities. While views on value diverge, the attentive staff and their commendable service, along with a quality breakfast inclusion, often tip the scales favorably.

We booked this hotel due to its location being half way between Rialto and St Marks Square. It’s a very short walk between both areas with lots of restaurants and shops close by. The hotel staff were friendly and they ensure that everyone was maintaining the face masks must be worn instead rule. Our room had everything we needed, including a fridge (which was the mini bar) but we used this to chill our drinks. We also had a small balcony which faced the side of the hotel which was a small alley with a neighbouring hotels restaurants outside seating area. This proved both nice and troublesome. During the evening we would sit on the balcony and enjoy the music & atmosphere from the restaurant in the alley below. However when the restaurant closed or reopened in the morning, there was a lot of noise from the tables being dragged to be put away or put out. The TV in our room had no English channels on it, this is very minor but worth pointing out. Although I doubt many people come to Venice to watch TV.
We seemed to have a nightly battle with the mosquitoes, despite spending a while each evening killing all the mosquitos we could find in the room, we still got bitten during the night. The room had lots of small blood stains on the walls where other guests had also splattered the mosquitoes. The room we had also did not have useable curtains but had window shutters on the outside of the windows (accessed by the balcony), these shut out loads of light and are very affective to help you sleep if you are sensitive to light.
The hotel offers a buffet breakfast but this is now served to you by a member of staff. The staff at breakfast deserve a massive well done, they work tirelessly and are always helpful. We would stay here again but maybe I would pack a mosquito net.
Overall it was a great hotel in a great location and we had an enjoyable stay.

Very nice hotel and close to the Grand canal and Rialto bridge. Excellent breakfast is included in price, if you can't find something at breakfast to your liking I would say you'd be very hard to please. My room was very nice and the bathroom had a walk in shower which was good for me as I struggle with showers above a bath. Bathroom also has a bidet. The only thing I would say is to remember when checking out you have to pay a local tax which is €7.20 per person. The hotel itself is surrounded with restaurants or if you fancy dining next to the grand canal that is roughly a three or four minute walk.

Just returned from this excellent hotel , situated in the perfect location for your trip ! Literally 2/3 mins from St Marc’s Square to the left , turn right 2/3 mins from Rialto bridge ! perfecto . The hotel it’s self is exemplary, spotlessly maintained by hard working , always smiling staff. Breakfast every morning offering Eggs and bacon hot , and a full continental selection , served in a lovely atmosphere by very attentive ladies. Room was cleaned on a daily basis , clean , fresh linen daily.the surrounding area offers a host of restaurants and bars , for your night cap drink , although a full mini bar is in your room.reception is staffed 24/7, and a special thanks to the lady who organised our transfer to airport by speed boat , as our flight was leaving before public services were available, Gratzia! So to sum up , I would highly recommend this hotel as a base for your trip …. Totally 5⭐️’s many thanks. Kind regards, Eric and Debbie Osborne.

My husband and I loved Venice! This hotel was a quiet, air-conditioned oasis of calm in a very conveniently-located area between Rialto bridge and Piazza San Marco. The bustling local streets were full of restaurants and glass/gelato shops with beautiful bridges and canals of course too. We enjoyed popping back to our room to rest in between all the art galleries and walking! There’s also a little lounge at the entrance and a larger one on the second floor which we used after checkin out. The staff were helpful, polite and multilingual. The breakfast was tasty and we enjoyed the coffee in particular. The room was nice - not the largest but it was cleaned daily and decorated in a quaint Venetian style. Would recommend this hotel to anyone, particularly as the location is so fantastic.

A perfect hidden treasure, authentic Venetian Hotel that was extremely clean, beautiful bed linen and typical Venetian interior.
Staff all extremely helpful and friendly.
Breakfast very good for a small hotel. Small fridge in room with bottled water, beer, mini spirits, small Prosecco all reasonably priced, we only had water and were asked on departure how many we had used. No kettle in room….not a problem for us as so many fabulous places once you have stepped out of the door to take coffee at . No bar in hotel but again not necessary as there are so many around you. The location of the hotel is excellent, literally 3/4 mins walk up a narrow alleyway from the Rialto Bridge where we arrived by Water Taxi from the airport.
Turn left out of the hotel for St Marc square which again is literally 3/4 mins walk. This was ideal for us to pop back for a little siesta before going out for dinner. Venice is wonderful and we were lucky enough to stay during the Masked Festival, def a once in a lifetime experience.
Would def recommend this hotel if you are looking for something not grand but quaint - Enjoy !

This is a small, charming, clean hotel in an ideal location with a friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast is excellent (with lots of options for our various dietary issues). The rooms are exactly as pictured; our triple room had a king and a twin bed and while it wasn't huge it was definitely ample room for our family of three. I love that the hotel provided multiple suitcase racks and extra pillows, blankets and towels in the room upon arrival without having to be asked for those things. I've read about 'odd showers' in other reviews, so it's worth noting my mother's queen room (room 16) had what seemed to be an updated/renovated bathroom, however our bathroom did have an unexpected square shower with two movable doors/walls which we later figured out was because the room (room 18) was handicap accessible. It was a little unexpected but it worked well enough for us, with great water pressure. This hotel needs some updates to some of the older features like the keyed doors, but overall I think it deserves 4 star rating and would recommend it to anyone looked for a comfortable place to stay in the heart of Venice. If you are looking for a hotel to spend a lot of time in, this is not the place for you (the lobby is just a check in desk and a very small sitting area), but if you plan to be out exploring Venice most of your days, and are just looking for a charming, clean, well appointed place to sleep and have a great breakfast in the morning, this is the perfect choice.

We had a room on the 3rd floor which was overlooking a street. We had no issues with noise except for a short time at approx. 6am in the morning but this is because we had the window open. It was very warm in our room and the air conditioning would not work as the hotels heating system was set to heat rather than cool. The downside was there was a lot of mosquitos in our room as we had to keep the window open. We both ended up being bitten quite a lot. However when we asked at reception about the air-conditioning, they turned off the heat to our room and put in a plug in mosquito repellent adapter.

The hotel is so central, we arrived late at night and got a shared water taxi from the airport to the Rialto bridge. The hotel is a 2-3 minute walk from here. The Alilaguna stop is also located here. In the other direction from the hotel you can walk and be at St Mark's Square in a couple of minutes. There is also a wide selection of cafés, restaurants and shops within the immediate vicinity of the hotel.

The beds were comfortable and the hotel was spotlessly clean. The shower in the bathroom had a sloped ceiling so the shower attachment only went to a certain height on the wall. This might be a bit of a challenge for tall people. The hotel has good wifi. The room also has a minibar which is very reasonably priced. The room was serviced daily.

The breakfast was buffet style and consisted of breads, pastries, cereals, fruit, ham, cheese etc. This was served on the first floor and you had to pick a timeslot the day before. The staff were always very friendly and helpful.

I would have no hesitation to stay here again if I was returning to Venice.

We stayed here from 17th June 2022 for 3 nights bed & breakfast. We would definitely recommend staying here. Staff all lovely, breakfast is very good and the place is absolutely spotless. Our room was big enough for a 3 night stay & even though we only stayed 3 nights, the bedding was changed every day & clean towels daily. The room was immaculate. The bed was the comfiest hotel bed I think I’ve ever slept in.
Situated in a perfect location, turn left & within minutes you’re at St Marks Square, turn right & within minutes you’re at the Rialto Bridge.
Lots of lovely local restaurants on the doorstep too either for a meal or a nightcap!
We had a great time.

I came here 12 years ago, it hasn’t changed a bit ! The location as has been mentioned in many reviews is perfect, so near all the attractions and easy to find. Unfortunately our room was on the 4th floor, the lift only went to the 3rd floor and the flight of stairs to our room were horrendous, after getting up at 2am and arriving at the hotel at 2.30pm I just didn’t have the strength to get my case up the stairs! My poor husband had to manhandle both cases. Our room was in a typical Venetian style , plenty of room and very clean, we had a fridge but no tea, coffee making facilities but that didn’t bother us. The bathroom which was a good size had a bath with a shower over it, plenty of hot water and water pressure was good. Unfortunately we had twin beds put together would of preferred a double, should of specified that when booking maybe, nice bedding but could of done with more pillows, only one each and a spare in the wardrobe, which I used,my husband used a blanket as an extra pillow and it was never changed for an actual pillow! The air conditioner was not working, I assume it is only is available certain months, our room was so high up it was very hot and humid, we foolishly left the windows open to cool down and got bitten to death by mosquitos! The cleaners are lovely and do a great job. Breakfast was also great, plenty of choices, and the staff are wonderful. I saw mentioned that room service was available but saw nothing that indicated that, it would of been a bonus to be able to get a coffee after a long day. The negatives wouldn’t put me off returning as it is a nice hotel, but would ask for a room lower down and a double bed and keep the windows shut!
