The Splendid Venice hotel is based in the historic centre of Venice, with the city's must-see sights and hidden treasures all within your reach. Just a short stroll or gondola ride will take you to Venice's most iconic sights: San Marco square and the Rialto Bridge. Like the city itself, our 165 rooms and suites are a mixture of styles, but all capture the essence of a romantic Venice holiday. Blending contemporary comforts with details that reflect classic Venetian character, each room has a light, elegant atmosphere, with many offering wonderful views over canals and the Venice skyline with its magnificent San Marco's bell tower in the horizon. Le Maschere at the Splendid Venice is one of the few restaurants near San Marco Square that is popular with Venetians and tourists alike. This authentic Venetian restaurant serves classic dishes with a modern twist.

San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

Fantastic hotel in an absolutely brilliant location, literally a three minute walk from both St Mark's square and the Rialto and close to some really nice, and not too pricey, restaurants. So easy to get to from the airport, we jumped on the public water taxi (orange line - £27 E

Stayed here last weekend. Best way to get here is on a private speed boat from the airport, no waiting or hassle and drops directly off at hotel - what a way to arrive. On the return though we just used the public water taxi - much cheaper and a very nice boat. The hotel was v

The patina that casts its ageless shadow over Venice makes it one of the most unique and interesting places in the world. Venice is also one of the most recognizable cities due to the fact that there are no roads or cars, but rather a labyrinthine of canals and pedestrian-only al

We are arriving Venice Marco Polo airport 11th November 2018, can you please advise best way to get to hotel and associated costs, thank you?
Best way is by private water taxi from the airport directly to the hotel. No dragging suitcases around and you will enjoy winding through the back canals to reach the hotel. You reach the water taxi wharf directly from the airport through a connecting corridor with four long beltways. You can book in advance through the hotel or if it is off hours you will find a bunch of the drivers hanging out at the wharf. The private water taxi fare is 140 euros.

What is the best way to get from the airport and to the airport from this hotel and what sort of costs would i be looking at ? I’m Confused as it seems you can’t get there by just a car?
Book a shared water taxi. Easy to do online or a private one, but that will cost around €120.00

What's the cheapest way to get a water taxi to the starhotel splendid. What are the best and cheapest options thanks
From Venice train station we took public water taxi. It was very convenient. I think it was second stop we got off. From there not more than 4mins by walk. Basically it’s behind San Marks square. You can also get private water taxi which can take you through grand canal to the hotel direct and it will cost you approx euro125.
