Palaces and piazzas. Gondolas and gelato. Canals and Carnevale. Beaches and Biennale. There is no destination quite so unique – and quite so magical – as Venice, a wondrous floating city in north-eastern Italy. Hotel Indigo® Venice – Sant’Elena is at the heart of the neighborhood, a converted 1930s monastery where the peaceful inner garden offers further respite from the bustle. Venice is a fairy-tale of a city with palaces, cathedrals and museums to take your breath away. In our neighborhood you can get your breath back again. It’s a place where you can escape the noise and bustle, experience genuine local life, and feel refreshed. This is a neighborhood of true tranquillity.

Quiet and very pleasant place, three stations away from San Marco / Zaccharia. If you want to avoid crowds but still stay near - this is a place for you. We stay with our child and were really enjoyed the hotel, especially the elegant and modern decor (which is actually quite rare in Venice). Rooms vary from cottage-like ground rooms to family rooms. My double room was spacious and convenient looking towards the patio. Very nice common areas and main patio garden is charming. Breakfast was of great service and quality. Perfect for Biennale venues. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Many compliments.

We stayed one night and we have chosen and prebooked online a junior suite wirh garden view. The room we got was on the 4th floor with tiny windows, very small and not at all like on the fotos. As we were in a hurry ro get to the biennale, we didnt mention our disappointment to the staff. In the evening, we learned that also the bedsofa was very uncomfortable and the walls thin as paper (we got every word from our us-neighbours). The majorbed was very comfortable, the staff very kind and the breakfast also good.

We emailed the hotel prior to arrival about getting to the hotel from the airport. The front desk was gracious enough to set up our private water taxi upon our arrival to Venice Airport. Very lovely hotel with very kind and helpful front desk staff! We were greeted promptly and also were thanked for being an IHG member and because of that they upgraded us to a junior suite. Felt like royalty! We were offered points or free drinks, we took the drinks and had 2 Aperol Spritz. I am not a big fan of buffet's but when in Italy fear not the Roman's and Venetian's know how to put out a buffet! The Buffet is excellent and very reasonable price @ €10 plus service charge. The suite (302) was large and bathroom up to date. The hotel is located in a residential area and is about a. 30 minute walk to Bassilica St Marks and Doge. Looking forward to coming back!

+ Stylish art deco + Friendly stuff + Upgrade due to platinum membership + Clean rooms +\- The location is on the far end of Venice, where the locals live. I liked it but if you want to be directly in the main city center then this can be a disadvantage. - The walls of the rooms don’t cover much noise. I think this is a general issue in Venice due to the historical and older houses. - The elevator is really scary. Very tight, shaking and slow. I took the stairs for most of the time.
