I was at Parkhotel Laurin for two nights for my trip to Bolzano. The hotel is in a central position just before the pedestrian zone of the old town and has its own parking, with discounted prices for guests. Just a few minutes walk from the hotel lies the city center with Walther Square, the Poricoes, the Cathedral. My room was spatious and quiet with a view on the Cathedral bell tower and the mountains. Insulation from outside noise was good, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was good, too. In the room there was a boiler but only tea was provided - no coffee. I asked for coffee at the reception, and they told me that the hotel owner doesn't like the idea of coffee in rooms, so none was available. I think this is frankly quite absurd, I do not like the idea of a hotel owner to decide what I can and cannot drink in the room I'm paying for. Breakfast was good, with enough choices. Bolzano is a very expensive city, and Parkhotel Laurin is no exception: you get good service, for a very high price.…
We stayed 1 night at Parkhotel Laurin to split up our route back from Tuscany. We left with mixed feelings about the hotel, hence 3*. Our first impressions weren’t great as we were greeted rather ‘cold’ by the reception, our room wasn’t ready yet (we arrived 45min before check-in time, so fair enough), but when asking to leave our luggage there in the meantime we almost got the feeling this was an absolute burden. Subsequently we seemingly received a ‘free’ upgrade from Standard to Comfort, thanks I guess 😅 but the room we received, dear lord, it was so extremely ugly, like: I actually had to cry from sadness so ugly. This room was so outdated, I wouldn’t even expect such an atrocity at a budget airport hotel. And to think they sell this room for €250 a night, just mindblowing to me. We kindly asked the reception if we instead could just move back down to a standard room, but please a bit more updated and cosy one, which fortunately they did. The positives: the bar area and garden are amazing, the cocktails are great. Loved the Royal Sour and the Laurin Spritz. Breakfast, in essence was great, but they forgot our coffee twice and it was unclear if or how we could order anything else but the fruit and croissants that were on the buffet. In any case, for these prices per night I expected way more than these outdated rooms and mediocre service, so we won’t be back.…
We slept here one night during our travel throughout Italy. Parking (for a fee) is available on the square directly in front of the hotel, so very convenient. The personnel of the hotel is trained to deliver good personal service, you can feel it. This gives a good vibe in the hotel. We had a nice, large and quiet room, in traditional palazzo style en we enjoyed it. Breakfast is served on the front terrace of the hotel, were corona measures were strictly implied and respected (I forgot my facemask in the room and before entering the breakfast terrace, I was given a facemask by the staf (who themselves were also wearing facemasks as it should). Excellent behavior! We also had dinner at the restaurant of the hotel, which has a great terrace underneath a big tent in the garden. Lovely dinner! Afterwards we enjoyed some afterdinner drinks in the bar, also in the garden. Also here very friendly and helpful staff!…
Stayed for just one night on business. Small room on third floor, single bed, but well appointed, quiet, with a marble shower bathroom. Could have chosen between several versions of pillow, found the standard one quite satisfactory. Since I was arriving per train I liked the hotel's location between terminal and the city center. Breakfast was a splendid affair, friendly and quick service, no additional charge for cappuccino instead of the american coffee from the buffet. Broad selection of breads, cheese selection was a little meager for a Tyrolian inn, though.
We have already given our thumbs up to the hotel directly, but also wanted to share in TripAdvisor. I wish Tripadvidor would let its contributors somehow benefit from what we write here. Back to basics, enjoyed our stay, the people doing a great job in different hotel locations. Reception, restaurant, Laurin Bar etcetc. Centrally located around the corner from Walterplatz and parking facility right in front of hotel. A very pleasant beginning of the year and worth to come back!
