Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was wondering why their name includes the word "ethical" and was delighted to find that they hire people with Down Syndrome in their restaurant.. It makes for a very nice atmosphere, very family-like. Our room, with a small terrace, was adequate and comfortable. If TV is important to you, you need to know that the one in our room was about 12 inches and mounted high on the wall. The breakfast (included) was fine, but nothing hot.

A nice, clean place with a great location. We were traveling by bicycle, so we needed a place that was both close to the pedestrian center, as well as the train station. This fit the bill. Very nice breakfast in a great room.

I knew about this hotel and the Albergo Etica project (which involves various partners in the Asti business and local community) before I went and was delighted that it delivered above and beyond my expectations! Very conveniently located - a ten minute walk from the station or if you are a first timer, like us, a few stops on the local bus to the front door. Then a few minutes walk to the central park, main piazza and the old centre of town that is closed to traffic (but open to cafes, shopping, walking and eating!) The hotel itself is recently opened and has a warm and slightly hip vibe. Love the central courtyard and the typically Italian cellar eating space. Rooms clean and fresh (and showers excellent). Big call out to our breakfast waiter Niccolo and finally, great coffee!! Would certainly stay here again and recommend it to anyone travellng in this area.

We needed somewhere to stay overnight on our trip from the French Alps to family near San Marino and were so pleased to find Hotel Etico. This is a hotel/school which trains young people with Downes for careers in hospitality. It is situated within walking distance of the centre of Asti and has a couple of parking spaces reserved out the front, but you must reserve a parking spot when you book your room. All the staff are friendly and very helpful - they even arranged for us to go to a winery for a tasting of this wine we were after. We could also buy bottles of wine from the hotel which was very convenient. The generous breakfast, which is included in the deal, is downstairs in a lovely cellar with a vaulted ceiling, very atmospheric. For dinner you can go to the restaurant in the centre, a few blocks away, which is connected to the hotel, but a booking is necessary. Just ask and the hotel will book for you. All in all a lovely experience and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again if in the area.

Not far from the center of Asti lies the Albergo Etico with nice and friendly staff, good large rooms and excellent pillows. The shower cabin a bit small though. A good breakfast was served in the old cellar. There are 20+ rooms and all but two vacant (our party) at the time of our stay. Strange as the pricing is very affordable. When you stay - enjoy an excellent espresso in the reception made by a very thorough barista.

When I found out this hotel staffed adults with Down Syndrome, I was happy to hear this and wasn't that concerned about being critical about the hotel itself since this hotel is one with a wonderful cause & heart that offers their staff work experience and helps them achieve independent living. The added bonus was that the hotel is extremely clean, accessible by car & well located to Asti's historic centre. Not to mention the customer service was very good. The breakfast room is downstairs in a cozy space with vaulted brick ceiling offering a generous breakfast. The staff were very warm, attentive and efficient. My room was spacious, with nice comfy and large bed. The overall room decor is basic/modern but sufficient. My room faced the main road, which can be a bit loud so I would suggest staying in one of the interior rooms. Other than that, I had a very pleasant stay. Thank you!

This time, my tour group only went to the restaurant but they have hotel rooms as well. The foods was excellent! Service was quick! All of us was happy about the cusine. However what made me deeply moved was the prompt service were made by disabled children such as down's syndrome. I did not notice because I did not look waitor/waitress' faces until the end. They did really good job. It must have been NOT easy. The owner is like a saint. He gives equal employment opportunity to everyone and that is why this restaurant has special magical taste and warmness!
