We were booked into this hotel through a travel agent so we didn’t need to make a decision for Milan. This is rare but we are so glad this where we were booked. We visited all the other top hotels on this: our first first tour this wonderful city. Yes, at some you can fall out of bed into Prada. But the city center is also crowded and full of construction. That seemed to be the only reason to stay in the heart of Milan. We had a driver at our disposal so it was generally easy to get where we needed to be and avoided the congestion. Plus compared to the other hotels we loved the true Italian flavor of this old building perched high above its neighborhoods for close to 100 years. Oh the stories it could tell. Our junior suite ( at others this was the standard room price) felt elegant and of the period with brocade fabrics and beautiful marquetry. The bathroom, updated and huge with lovely amenities. Housekeeping is on top of its game. From little gifts at night to phone cords tied with ribbon, this is pampered luxury. We enjoyed the little elevators and hallways which took you back to another era. That being said: the top floor gym and pool are all contemporary and seem current and new and outfitted extremely well. Bottom line though: it’s the staff that makes it special. I wish I recalled all the names. They surely knew ours from the moment we arrived. They needed 15 minutes to get our room ready and we had a seat in the lobby, espresso in hand before you could count to 10. The restaurant is beautiful and sunny for the wonderful breakfast buffet. Our favorite, the magical Dolcizia, welcomed us each morning. Nothing starts a day so perfectly. Our last morning we had to leave early without time for breakfast. I went over to giver her a hug goodbye. I said we would be back. You can be sure we will.

Hello everyone who will read this informative contribution.

I was a guest at the Hotel Principe di Savoia for 2 and a half days.

There are, how can it be everywhere, things that are possitive and others that are less possitive.
Let's start some no possitive:
Welcome in the reception I would say just cold, almost like a computer that explains all the hours of breakfast, gym and various things, and immediately asking if you want to reserve a table at the restaurant.
Before arriving I called the hotel asking for a car and a man replied that I could take a taxi alone or else it cost 120 Euro a private car and he told me that will be beter that i take a Taxi alone. I can believe that a hotel like the Principe di Savoia has no connection with companies to provide this service to customers. . . There was still 1 hour left for my arrival and didn't ask for the price, I asked for a car to pick me up.

Then when you arrive at almost all the 5 star hotels there is always someone who welcomes you, they sit with you, offer you a tea, water, champagne and explain everything about the hotel.
But not so upright as in a line at the post office. . . like was

I think only for 1200 Euros for 2 nights and having a welcome like that was not so nice! Because i did booking  a 5 star.

Possitive things:

The staff of the Bar Service and Restaurant, always smiling and very cordial all the time!

Explaining all the menu and various things. . .  I would like to leave the Dear Greeting to Mr. Luigi Capararo who referred my

thoughts to the management and they were very kind making me find in the room a Bottle of Excellent Italian Proseco with some-strawberries. ( Thanks ) and to Mr. Iovine Nicola who served me in the Vine Tasting Dinner.

He was truly Professional and with a typical sympathy from all Italians

What I would say was fantastic and I recommend everyone who presses good wines.

I would say that all in all it was a pleasant time.

Best Danke

S.P.

An excellent hotel if you are looking for personalized and high class service. Everything was taken care of, the dining / lounge staff were attentive and helpful, the concierge provided insight on train options, metro entry location and local attractions we were not aware of. Our "Premium" level room was outfitted beautifully, three large windows looking towards Puorto Nuovo, fully equipped bath with two sinks, separate tub and shower and dressing area. The complimentary shuttle to the Duomo area was appreciated and used often. Proximity to Milano Centrale allowed quick access for easy day trips to neighboring towns. Dinner in the Acanto restaurant was first class. Certainly not inexpensive, but worth every penny. Highly recommend for the discerning traveller.

As it is a part of the Dorchester Collection I wanted to try this hotel. The hotel is in a heritage building and about 2km away from the fashion district which suited me fine.

The hotel really needs an up gradations the rooms are dark with small windows really depressing during the winter months. The only nice thing about my room was it was fitted with smart tv.

Room service is extra efficient as we ordered room service ordered baked baby chicken and were told it would take 40 minutes as it needs to be baked to our surprise the food arrived in less than 15 minutes. I wonder how that happened.

Breakfast is good and at times one must wait nearly 10 minutes to get a table no priority for staying guests.

Overall experience not satisfactory and recommend total makeover and rooms definitely needs a urgent makeover.

Arrived at 22.30 having booked through Amex centurion concierge on their FHR package. On arrival, I was told my room had been upgraded to a Deluxe room. The room was absolutely awful. There was a loud tram/rail that passed it 5-6 times an hour that made it sound like there was a storm in room and it caused the fixtures and fittings to shake. The room decor was in poor conditioned with a decades old bathtub shower that was weak, a mattress that was rock solid and a sticky hairdryer.

I cannot emphasise how poor it is for a hotel of this standard to be offering such rooms at the rates they do. I complained and was moved for my final night (though the bell desk didn’t come and assist as promised) but that doesn’t excuse for the first night where I didn’t sleep and the hotel shrugged and offered no compensation.

Won’t be staying here again. Strongly suggest you seek out other alternatives in Milan which are available at a similar price level but have been renovated and offered clean, comfortable and quiet accommodation.

Luxury with style and class in a great location. I came here for a weekend trip with friends and we were blown away by this hotel! It defines old style Italian luxury right in the heart of the city. The rooms are classy without sacrificing modern necessities like wifi and USB charge ports. Bathroom and amenities (acqua di Parma) are top class. What really struck me was the excellent service by all the staff members I encountered. The reception lady at breakfast already remembered my name by day 2 and welcomed me to the table. The top terrace was also a perfect place for a drink while watching the sunset. They have a nice pool and spa area with a gym (with a view). We will definitely be back!

An amazing few days away in Milan spent at Principe di Savoia. The hotel is a wonderful property with so much attention to detail and such beautiful architecture.

Ristorante Acanto is a special experience that I would highly recommend, a Michelin star must be on the horizon for this restaurant. We had the wine pairing tasting menu and you get the opportunity to taste 6 different dishes where the ingredients are from all over the world, so fresh and they all have a story behind them which the waiter/waitress will share with you. Jean-Pierre will ensure you have a great experience in this restaurant, he’s from Peru; the most attentive waiter we have come across and has such a polite and well mannered way about him which adds to the experience.

The Club 10 spa is also a must visit on the top floor beside the presidential suite, there is all the facilities needed with a rooftop gym and a Hammam bath!

There is a hotel car that operates hourly (maybe even more regularly than this) and you have the choice to go to the nearby luxury shopping areas or Cathedral Duomo and the opera house.

Thank you to the team for a wonderful stay!

Henry & Tilly

My husband and I stayed in the Principe di Savoia Hotel for 4 nights to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and we received excellent service from the time we checked in from Vanessa, Niccolo and Andrea until the day we checked out. They were very friendly and offered great suggestions of places to visit and great restaurants in the area. The room was spectacular with a beautiful view, the bed was comfortable and the linens crisp and cool, the hotel was close to everything and it was easy to get a taxi because the bellmen would just blow their whistle and a taxi was immediately available. The breakfast, which was included with our stay was a delicacy not to be easily matched (So many options to choose from). We ate at the Hotel Restaurant and the service was great as was the food. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to be pampered and treated like royalty. We made some memorable friends during our stay and look forward to visiting this wonderful hotel again with our children in the future. Thanks for sending us the champagne and the delicacies you sent to our room for our anniversary, it made our stay very special!

We stayed at Principe di Savoia for the Valentine's weekend and we were overall quite satisfied with our stay. The Hotel is an old establishment but very well kept. Rooms have a classic style but they are weel kept so in my view they are elegant without looking old. Bathroom nice and spacious.
Only complain was the mattress, which could have been better.
The service was always flawless, both at the bar and at in room.
Breakfast was delicious and with a very wide choice of food.
The Principe Bar makes very good cocktails.
Definitely one Milan's top 3 hotels.

Our room was elegant and spacious with a large, firm yet comfortable bed. Our bathroom was also large with a shower in a deep tub. I was unhappy with the large step or climb to get in and out of the shower. The front desk told us all the rooms were like this, but our friend's room had a normal shower. There was no kettle nor coffee maker in the room. The room wifi was a bit unstable; they provided a cord that helped a little.

While the interior is lovely, my first impression was disappointment. We arrived in the afternoon after a long train ride and were hungry. There was no food available from 2:30 to dinner and the concierge wasn't particularly helpful. I went across the square to the Westin, but it was the same set-up. Making a left out the door, I found a pizza place that was still serving food (thank goodness!). After that, things improved!

Breakfast is a buffet and/or off the menu. The standouts are the chef's daily specials on the menu and the apple cake on the buffet. There were an excellent number of choices as you'd expect at a hotel like this.

I highly recommend the bar for their aperitivo! Their cocktails were great and the bar snacks even better. Our waiter just kept coming by with little plates of food. One dish was better than the next. If back in Milan, I'd come here for aperitivo!
