Nestled near the heart of Bellagio, Hotel Belvedere Bellagio garners praise for its prime location and the extensive amenities on offer, including a pool boasting lake views and a luxurious spa. The staff's exceptional service is frequently lauded, with many guests impressed by their responsiveness and attention to detail. While travelers are captivated by the spacious rooms and their stunning views, some remarks point out the need for updated furnishings.
Cleanliness is a standout feature, with the immaculate conditions of the rooms and grounds often highlighted. However, opinions on value are mixed, as additional charges for certain services have been a point of contention for some visitors.

Hotel's Favourite
After traveling to 80 countries and all seven continents over the past five decades, our 2023 stay at Hotel Belvedere on Lake Como made it very clear that this is now our favorite hotel in the world! Don’t let the four stars deceive you, because this is a five-star accommodation all the way!
The views of Lake Como are stunning on the eastern slope of this unnamed peninsula that pierces the lake like an arrow, especially from the outdoor deck above the pool. The rooms are so elegant and modern, the rain showers are huge, and the views from our massive patio in the Junior Suite were breathtaking. Cascading down the hill on the hotel property are numerous plateaus of well manicured lawns, sculpted bushes, and beautiful flowers. You’re in close proximity to the action of bustling downtown Bellagio, but secluded just far enough for total peace and quiet at the hotel. Situated in the shadow of a hill just to the north owned by The Rockefeller Foundation, with the mountainous terrain as a buffer between the town center and this lovely property, the serenity makes you feel far from the city that’s a mere 5-minute walk away. It is the optimal location in Bellagio!
The spa is extensive, a facility at which we took full advantage of a thorough, hour-long massage that vastly improves circulation. The staff is incredibly courteous and well trained. But it’s many of the little things they do at Hotel Belvedere that make it such a great place to stay. To offer several examples, the luxurious array of body washes and lotions are noteworthy, the larger trashcans without lids uncommon in most hotel rooms are much easier to navigate, the breakfast is one of the best we’ve ever had, and the room service food is so good you might want to have your nightly dinners in your room.
While breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m., we had to depart at 7:00 on the final morning to catch a ferry. So the staff composed four takeout boxes for the two of us with a wonderful selection of breakfast foods. It was kindness that goes above and beyond. Of our 46 years of international travel, this is the ultimate hotel for us!

Dear WilliamWillieWilson, What an absolute delight it was to read your glowing review of the Belvedere! We are beyond grateful for your kind words, it is truly an honour to be declared your favourite hotel in the world. Your extensive travel experience lends immense weight to your endorsement, we are touched and proud to have left such a lasting impression on you. The picturesque views of Lake Como, especially from the solarium above the pool, are indeed one of our guests’ favourite features. We are delighted that you found your room elegant and modern, we think that the rain shower is simply the icing on the cake! Your description of the overall location, with well-manicured lawns, sculpted bushes and flowers, captures the essence of the serene environment we aim to provide. The proximity to the liveliness of the borgo, coupled with the peace and quiet here, is a balance we are pleased to have achieved! It's heartening to hear that you took full advantage of our extensive spa facilities and enjoyed a restorative long massage. Your appreciation for the little details, from the array of body washes to the breakfast proposals, reinforces our commitment to providing a special experience. Your declaration of the Belvedere as the ultimate hotel, after 46 years of international travels, is the highest compliment we could receive! We are deeply honoured to have been a part of your journey and we are looking forward to welcoming you back! Grazie di cuore e a presto, Giulia Manoni

I’m so pleased we booked the Belvedere hotel for our couple of days in Lake Como. Bellagio is the best location to be based, the hotel a short 5 minute walk into the centre of town and to the ferry port.
The hotel grounds are outstanding, beautiful pool area and the most breathtaking views of the lake and the mountains. The staff are very polite and attentive, following covid-19 regulations very well. I was surprised to find no staff taking drinks orders by the pool, I feel this would improve the whole experience. We booked the spa area as it now is mandatory to book a time slot to ensure the spa is throughly sanitised after each guests. We had it all to ourselves for 2 hours, my only wish is that they had some heated beds to lie on, as they only had sun loungers and the aircon was high.
Our room was a decent size and extremely clean. I do think the bathroom was on the smaller side and the shower was extremely small. The shower doors were also very awkward to open and close and the toilet button was very hard to push!
I would of expected a coffee machine in the room for a high quality hotel, there was a kettle and some tea and instant coffee but no milk so I didn’t use the facilities.
Bed was very comfy!! I couldn’t wait to go to sleep again the following night!
Breakfast was ok, nothing blew me away. I have had better breakfasts in other hotels in Italy.
Overall I’m so pleased we booked the Belvedere Hotel, however for the price I did expect a couple of little details to be better.
Thank you for a lovely stay.

We spent a perfectly delightful week as guests at the Hotel Belvedere this June, thanks to the flawless care of every member of the hotel staff. The concierge team—Chiara, Monica, Julia and everyone behind the reception desk— went above and beyond in booking restaurants, reserving hired cars, looking into PCR testing, and responding to every possible request.
Just one example of their thoughtfulness: the day we left, we had a car ready to drive us to the airport at 7 am. The restaurant begins breakfast service at 7. We had an espresso machine and tea kettle in the room and expected to simply make ourselves a cup of coffee or tea before heading out. But the hotel staff, entirely on their own initiative, wheeled a beautifully laid breakfast table to our room at 6:30 am, complete with cappuccino, yogurt, fresh fruit cup and a selection of their breakfast cakes.
As for the standards of cleanliness at the hotel, they are impressive; for instance, anytime we left our room, we returned to find the towels had been changed.
The hotel setting is idyllic, overlooking a splendid view of the lake, and from our balcony we could also oversee the pool and gardens. In the early evenings we’d see restaurant staff picking herbs from the herb garden for dinner that evening
Speaking of dinner, although we tried different restaurants in the lake area, including Michelin-starred ones, we looked forward most to the dinners we had at our hotel restaurant, La Terrazza, which serves outdoors in fine weather and indoors in rain. The cuisine Is elegant, regional, seasonal, and fresh. We especially recommend the carpaccio di manzo, the ceviche misto, and the risotto carnaroli with caramelized pear and licorice dust, simply addictive. The maitre d’hotel, Donatello, makes a point of remembering the preferences of guests and greeting them as if they were at home. Breakfast at the hotel is a feast not to be missed.
At The Belvedere, you sense the experienced, personal but discreet touch of the family-run management, and their pride in up keeping their standards. They make you feel at home.
We were seen off by the staff the morning of our departure with “A la proxima!” (Until next time!) And indeed, there is nothing we would like more than to come back to Bellaggio and the Belvedere.

Room 410 on fourth floor had excellent view of the lake with windows that opened. The room is very small and dominated by an enormous bed which is actually two singles pushed together so an extremely uncomfortable ridge along the centre. Towelling robes and slippers were a welcome addition. The shower is also very small, the kind you will find in budget hotels. The toilet is right beside the window with a small basin and a small area to place toiletries, tooth brushes etc,.
The breakfast is good offering a wide range of fruit, cereals and cooked food to order, however, the coffee was the worst we had tasted in Italy, although the cappuccino was fine. Delightful staff. Bar area lacks atmosphere and character. We had to request olives etc., they were not automatically provided with our cocktail order. After reading reviews and overhearing people discuss the expensive restaurant we cancelled our booking there and pleased we did. Pool area fine. Wash rooms beside the pool/bar area had no hand wash soap and strangely their location is not immediately evident. To sum up, excellent staff, good breakfast, lots of concrete but rather ‘soul-less’

Dear Sunrisen, Thank you so much for sharing your feedback. We are delighted you enjoyed the panorama, even our eyes cannot get enough! Grateful you highlighted also our breakfast selection and the thoughtfulness of our team. Coffee here is like a ritual and we take pride in offering only the best quality, I am so sorry you have not liked yours. We would have been more than glad to add a soft topper over the mattress to improve your sleeping experience. Please, feel free to share your wishes even during your stay to give us the opportunity of fulfil them. Moreover, I am so disappointed for your aperitif: we do offer olives and snacks along with cocktails. I have talked with the involved teams, they all felt sorry and will coordinate to the best so that it will not happen again. It is a pity you miss the La Terrazza experience, we understand that dining preferences may vary and we would have been glad if you just gave us a chance! Your feedback is essential in helping us improve the overall experience and we hope you might consider returning in the future. Best, Giulia Manoni

This hotel is in a beautiful location. It is a short walk to the center of the town where you can find many restaurants and shopping. The hotel has several restaurant options, all of which were great. We had lunch on arrival, which was delicious and breakfast daily. The breakfast buffet is good - typical options, as well as an a la carte menu. All the food is great. We stayed in a comfort room located at the lower part of the building, with a lake view off of a patio. It was a beautiful view and very relaxing. The room itself was reasonably sized with a fantastic, large rain shower. The king bed was very comfortable.
We were an end unit, so there was one window high up on the wall. The doors to the room were glass, with wood louvre doors covering those for the evening. One concern was given the time of year, the hotel discontinued the A/C and unfortunately it was very warm. They were unable to adjust room temperature, unlike our experience at other hotels on this same trip. So we had to ask for a fan, which helped only a bit, so we locked the louvre doors at night, leaving the glass doors open for air. Unfortunately we then had some flies, which were annoying but not much to do other than close the door and be very warm.
The staff were helpful, friendly and responsive. There are many amenities including a spa, fitness center and pool. It's a great hotel that you'll definitely enjoy.

Dear NCTraveller1, Reading your review reading it was a true pleasure. Thank you for sharing such detailed feedback following your stay at us. I am glad you enjoyed both our location and the overall atmosphere. Grazie mille also for mentioning the breakfast selection, we know how important it is to start the day well! Moreover, I am delighted to know you loved your experience at La Terrazza restaurant and your lake view room. However, I am so sorry if your sleeping quality was not at its finest. We had just turned off the cooling system and, of course, the sunny days are back! Whilst an apology will regrettably not alter the outcome of your experience on this occasion, I do extend it with all sincerity. I am glad that, despite this issue, my precious colleagues made you feel at home and that you enjoyed all our outdoor and indoor experiences! Looking forward to welcoming you back again! We were lucky to get away for a few days here in mid September- including coinciding with some beautiful weather. The hotel is doing its very best to overcome the problems with Covid and provided us with a relaxing and enjoyable break.
First of all, the position of the hotel is excellent: ten minutes walk out of town and with brilliant views over the eastern branch of the lake. I don’t think you can beat the view from the pool!
The service is superb- always one of our major considerations - both in reception and in the dining room. Prices are a little steep but you don’t mind paying if you’re getting value. We were welcomed every time we came and went with a smile and a greeting.
Bellagio itself is clearly a popular destination but, like the hotel itself, has been hit by reduced tourist numbers. We had little trouble booking restaurants, and the town was comparatively quiet.
If you’re considering a holiday there, take a serious look at the Belvedere. You won’t be disappointed.

Dear Andy U, Thank you for having chosen The Belvedere for your getaway in Bellagio and for sharing this 5 stars review on Tripadvisor. We are delighted to know the level of the service exceeded your expectations. It was a pleasure for me to share your kind words with the Belvedere Family, they were all touched by your compliments on their passion and work. Grazie mille for remarking the attention to the anti-Covid procedures. As the health of both our Valued Guests and our passionate collagues is our n. 1 priority, in addition to the National measures, we introduced a nebulizer machine that sanitize each room with a disinfectant and virucide product, anti-Covid tested, after every check out. We look forward to welcoming you back! Warmest regards and "arrivederci", Giulia Manoni Hotel Belvedere - Bellagio

Hotel Belvedere exceeded all expectations. Every detail of the hotel is thoughtful and exquisite. The beds and linens are high quality and the bathroom was quite large and stocked with everything you could need including a towel warmer. To our surprise and pleasure, there were even French doors leading out onto a private terrace from both the room and bathroom! We had dinner at the Terrazzo restaurant inside of the hotel. The meal was exceptional with an elegant atmosphere. Our servers, especially Damiano, were attentive and met our every need. We highly recommend Hotel Belvedere and hope to visit again!

My husband and I chose Hotel Belvedere to celebrate our 40 th wedding anniversary in July .Everything about the hotel exceeded our expectations . We arrived hours late after our EasyJet flight was cancelled at the last minute . We were given just the welcome we needed even though it was late at night . -A lovely bottle of Prosecco was waiting for us and delicious food and drinks were brought to our beautifully appointed room, but it wasn’t until the next morning that we could appreciate the unrivalled position of the Hotel. The views were unbelievably beautiful of Lake Como from our balcony . In fact due to the position of the hotel everyone could enjoy the stunning scenery . The restaurant and reception staff were amazing , so professional and couldn’t do enough to make you feel very special . The breakfasts and evening meals were fantastic , so much choice , beautifully served with top quality ingredients. The pool area was a lovely place to relax and take in the vista . It was surrounded by manicured gardens where sun beds were plentiful . Our room was spotlessly cleaned everyday with a daily change of top quality bed linen. Bellagio was a great place to stay , full of lovely shops and restaurants, . The picturesque centre was a short walk from the hotel and with daily ferry services to other towns on the lake , it made it a perfect location . It was the hotel however that made our holiday so special and when we left a parting gift of biscuits and homemade apricot jam was just such a lovely touch . We can’t thank you enough for a truly wonderful holiday and we can’t wait to return to this beautiful hotel !.

After researching various hotels in Bellagio I booked a double room with lake view directly with the hotel.
We flew into Milan Linate and took a private taxi to the hotel, which took just over an hour.
We received a warm welcome at the hotel and were shown to our room, which was located in a separate building, close to the pool. The view of the lake was superb and the location felt very private. The room was spacious with a private balcony and plenty of storage space, a fridge/mini bar and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel is set in lovely gardens and the pool, jacuzzi and sauna/steam room facilities are excellent. The hotel is just a short walk into Bellagio.
Breakfast was a combination of buffet style (fruit, cheese, meat, smoked salmon, cereals, baked goods and cakes) and items available to order from the menu such as egg and bacon (mostly at no extra charge). The coffee was fabulous. The breakfast room itself was light and spacious with a fabulous view of the lake.
Without fail, every member of staff we encountered throughout our stay at the Hotel Belvedere was polite, friendly and helpful. We wouldn’t hesitate to return if we visit Bellagio again one day.
We flew into Milan Linate and took a private taxi to the hotel, which took just over an hour.

Dear Ruth M, Reading your review was so heart-warming, we are truly glad you had such a memorable time here at us. From Chiara, our FO manager, along with Bruna, our head of housekeeper, Generoso, our maître and all their teams and colleagues: a huge thank you for your kind words. The rooms near the pool with their patio or balcony give a real cocoon and private atmosphere, perfect to enjoy an aperitif overlooking Pescallo bay. You are right, our peaceful location is immersed in nature, just 5 minutes walking from the centre of the Borgo and we love to welcoming you here for a quiet and regenerating stay. Thank you also for your photos and for mentioning our pools and spa area and the breakfast selection. We know how important is to have a good awakening in the morning, happy you loved it! Looking forward to have you here again, Grazie di cuore, Giulia Manoni

We stayed 3 nights with our daughter. The hotel is situated just a 5 minute walk from Bellagio centre, great location with wonderful views over the lake. Belvedere lost a star as we were slightly disappointed with our room, it was very cramped for 3 people, had no outdoor space and a tiny bathroom with no proper shower, the toilet was also coming away from the wall so not stable - some maintenance required here! It did however have a superb view.
The pool area is very nice and spacious with lots of sunbeds spread out over lots of different areas, there were always plenty available. Nice pool bar. Breakfast was great, lots of selection, dinner on the terrace was also very nice.
The staff here are superb, very efficient, welcoming and friendly, I think that's what really makes this place, that and its location.

Dear Tina, It was a pleasure to read your compliments and considerations, thank you for sharing them! We are truly aware that our colleagues, between new smiles and “old” friends, are the beating heart of the Belvedere. A huge thank you from Chiara, our front office manager, to Bruna, the housekeeper, along with Generoso, our maître, chef Giampaolo and all their brigades. La Terrazza offers seasonal high-quality proposals and it is nice to know you had a good time here, tasting a little bit of Italian cuisine. I am glad you also appreciated our breakfast, with its sweet and savoury wide selection, fresh fruit and home-made cakes. I am sorry if you experienced some glitches, I immediately shared your comments with our maintainance so that they could fix the problem in your bathroom. I hope to welcoming you back in the future, we will do our best to help you find the perfect accommodation for you and your family. Grazie mille! Giulia Manoni

You can go the restaurant, but I would assume the pool is only for hotel guests
Since I’m still at the hotel I asked them your question and this answer is straight from management. Call the hotel for updates. Every winter while being closed, they renovate a few at a time. So just call or contact via email. As a guest you will be thrilled with the location, food and staff.
