Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a simple family room with a big bathroom. All very clean. We enjoyed the convenient location. The place is very quiet with very friendly and helpful staff who gave us very practical advice. Plenty of places to eat around.

Very clean hotel. It is located 50 meters from the main tourist site - the Basilica di San Vitale. In the apartment everything works, nothing is broken. Rooms are designed in the style of country, and everything is done with good taste. Friendly staff. In addition, they know the Russian language.

Stayed here 3 nights in February 2017. It is literally down the street from the Basilica, which I could see out my window, and is nice to look at at night as well. Staff were happy to modify my booking.com reservation via email in advance of my arrival, which was very helpful! The wifi works very well, the room was neat and clean, bathroom good (with a good shower), the breakfast is a pretty typical Italian B&B breakfast (bread, meat, yogurt, coffee or tea, juice, pastries) and is served late enough for night owls like me. The staff provide a map of Ravenna, point out suggestions for lunch and dinner, and explain how to get a ticket for entrance to the mosaic monuments, which is all easy to understand even with my lack of Italian (the wonderful woman who served breakfast was

I booked because of their promise of "A spacious living room with a fireplace, small library and sofas". This is not true. La Basicila's response to my complaint has been appalling. It's a very basic place. The shower in the tiny cramped bathroom is directly above the WC and bidet. Breakfast is sparse. Spoken English poor. Wifi poor or unobtainable.

The room and bathroom were nice and spacious. The location of the b&b is great, near from the train station and from all the important places to visit. Breakfast served is also good. I would recommend this place!

The best things about this B&B were the friendly and welcoming staff and the property's excellent location one minute from San Vitale and therefore very central. The piazza was ten minutes' walk and even S Apollinare Nuovo was only 15 minutes away. The room was cramped but adequate and the bathroom likewise. No fancy details here. There was a small adjacent terrace, more a corridor.

We enjoyed the welcome of the friendly proprietor .The room was both clean and pleasant. We enjoyed a generous tasty breakfast and an excellent location for visiting the historic sites. We would gladly go back again.

We booked online from Lake Como where we were coming from. The location was good; very close to Basilica of San Vitale, an easy walk to the main piazza (Popolo) which was lovely, and just a little further to the train station, but the good news pretty much ends there. The bed was the absolute worst bed we've experienced since our early youth hostel days 45 years ago. The springs in the mattress dug into you no matter what position you were in. After the first horrible night, we finally ended up using the 2 spare blankets doubled over under the bottom sheet as padding. There was nobody really to complain to as the staff only seems to be there to put the "buffet" breakfast (ha!) out.And they could not speak English. We arrived earlier than our estimated time & the door was

Everything about La Basilica was just as it should be in terms of cleanliness, comfort, location, and the helpfulness of the staff. My one quibble is that the price is high for what is offered. Other places I stayed in northern Italian towns this summer at this per-night price had bigger rooms and better bathrooms. I paid quite a bit less for a room in Trastevere that was as good as or better than the accommodations at La Basilica. That said, it was a lovely place to stay.

We stayed here for two nights in August. Julia is a warm and lovely host. Upon check in sat us down and provided a 5-10 minute orientation of the city including the Unesco listed sites, restaurants to eat and the best gelati in town. We had the bottom room which was ideal as we had two large bags and didn't fancy carrying them up the stairs. The room is basic and clean with its own private bathroom.  Pros: - Great location. The B&B is located within 5 minute walk to the main strip with plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. From the train station it is about 20 minute walk with luggage. - Good breakfast which is prepared daily by Julia herself. We had a selection of pastries; yoghurt; cereal; toast; fruits; juices; cold meats and Julia makes a great coffee!  - Warm and
