Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Comfortable, clean and well maintained. 10 minutes walk to city center and all attractions. Very helpful staff. Good value for money, good wi-fi. Very small room and poor breakfast. Lack of space, lack of food.

Gutta Cavat Lapidem wrote a review Jun 2022
Province of Ancona, Italy19 contributions17 helpful votes
Gutta Cavat Lapidem is a small group of people who work, live and travel together. This review is by our oldest member. The Hotel is located between the center and the Passetto, next-door to the very good Ristorante Il Giardino. That is the only positive note I can offer. Unfortunately, there is NO MENTION of FOUR FLIGHTS (to the 2nd floor) of stairs in the description of the Hotel. I rang their intercom to ask for help. The response was to buzz me in and hang up. At 77 years old I was forced to climb four flights of stairs (two floors) carrying my luggage. Unwilling to face the stairs again, I ordered the only thing available for dinner: a toast and a coffee. A miniscule piece of slightly sour ham on two slices of dry, bad quality pancarrè. But at least the breakfast caffè was decent. My room was cramped and shabby, nothing like the photos that were attached to the confirmation email. It reeked of disinfectant. The bathroom was dingy, with worn-out fixtures. The feeling was one of neglectfulness, a lack of love. The next morning I found that my car had been ticketed. I rang the Hotel to ask if there was anything they could do about this, given the fact that the preceding evening I had asked about parking. They hung up on me. So I have a parking violation to pay. I’ve always cheerfully accepted some hardships in my many travels. Hotel Vittoria’s "silent treatment" may have been my first real experience of gendered ageism. "Simpatia" and consideration would have been nice.

Stayed here for the night as we were flying from Ancona. Very nice hotel in an old building. A ten minute walk along the tree lined Avenue into the town centre or the beach and war memorial. We had the standard room which was a good size and clean and comfortable. Because of Covid all breakfasts were served to the room which was good. Receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. The only downside was the hotel is on the second floor of the building with no lift so families with young children, pushchairs or the elderly might struggle.

We stayed at the Hotel della Vittoria, Vaile Fabio Filzi 2, 60123 Ancona, Italy. I would never have booked this hotel if I had known it was in a building on the second floor with no lift. The staff were friendly and helpful, but the rooms were small and no refrigerator. The bus into town and the port are within 50 meters of the hotel and there is a lovely walk up and down the tree lined street around the corner. I would not stay here again.

This small but charming hotel is located in a very nice area of town, just off a tree lined boulevard, only 10 minutes walk away from the main shopping area of Ancona. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean and fresh towels provided every day. We stayed for 4 nights, the first night we were given a rather small room (111), but when asked if a bigger room was available, the staff in reception very politely informed us that whilst they were fully booked for that night, they would be able to move us to a larger room the following day and gave us the choice of one of two rooms, both very nice. They also informed us that we could have free room service for breakfast, as the breakfast room is rather small, can only accommodate 8 people at any one time. Breakfast selection was good, with freshly baked pastries and cakes daily, a selection of cereals, fresh fruit, jams, honey as well as cheese and cold meats. Fruit juices, coffee, cappuccino and a selection of teas and herbal teas was also available. Please be aware that the hotel is on the second floor of an old Palace and no lift is available, this could be an issue with carrying heavy suitcases or for people with mobility problems. If you are travelling by car the hotel can issue a daily parking voucher for 3 euros, this works out much cheaper than paying the hourly parking charge. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and we would definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel to friends and family too.

A good and clean hotel in the nice town of Ancona (Marche). It is not my first experience with this hotel, and I've always found friendly and familiar hospitality. It is very well positioned, town center at walking distance, with lots of shops and interesting places to visit. Good breakfast, TV, comfortable bathroom and good mattresses. No noise. Only inconvenience: second floor, no lift. But for the rest a good quality hotel, and not expensive. One more favourable point: a very good restaurant (good prices and very good food) a few steps away. Don't miss it!

Located in a nice central area of the city. Very alive during the day and quietly in the night. The Hotel is on the second floor of a old Palace (no elevator is available). Very homey reception, warm and cozy ambiance. Friendly welcome from the receptionist who has give me all necessary information. The room is was quiet small and tired but very clean. I could smell the freshness of the linen on the bed and in the bathroom. Flat TV screen on the wall. Two bottle of mineral waters are placed on the desk. In the bathroom the amenities are minimal which i suggest to improve. The breakfast was served in a small room where a buffet was prepared. Good quality of food and juices. Coffee excellent! Two lovely and friendly Ladies are running the Hotel. All together a good place to stay for a weekend in the central Ancona.
