Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

The hotel is wore down, the rooms are small but neat. There are no shelves in the bathroom onto which you could put your stuff. Also the extractor fan did not work in the bathroom. Very few English TV channels. The location and the breakfast is great. Definitely not a four-star

Hi. The lifts are close to reception as pointed out previously, they both open on level landings with no steps to bedrooms, rooms are adequate but not luxurious. There are two issues with this hotel, firstly the position is a considerable walk from the main attractions, positioned along a a back street there is no view, secondly as there is no pool or roof garden, when you return to the hotel at the end of the day, there is nowhere to sit and relax and unwind. There is a bar and lounge as such but I would not describe it as comfortable or welcoming. So functional hotel with drawbacks.

To be honest I don't know how are the two different from each other. My guess would be that Romantic Room would be bigger than standard double and with a bath. We had a Standard Double which was perfect size considering we were there only to sleep. This didn't include bath only shower. Hope this helps :)

We actually flew into Campino, there is a shuttle bus from the airport to Termini. You will then need to take a taxi or if you are enough you can take the metro to Manzoni and it is a 3/4 minute walk from there to the hotel. This hotel is in a great location for accessing the city. At the end of the road westwards is the Colosseum. I would definitely recommend making use of the metro while in Rome. A day/3 day ticket is worth the price.
