We stayed at this hotel on our first visit to Rome. We booked it as looked very nice and had great reviews. Our trip was for one week and we booked a room with a terrace. The room was lovely and the extra outdoor space was wonderful. The only downside to the room was the bed was not comfortable for us but mattress firmness is a personal choice. The staff were very professional and extremely courteous and helpful. They seemed to take every measure to ensure we had a fabulous stay. There were sufficient Covid measures in place, including hand sanitiser through the hotel and facial coverings. The breakfast provided a wide range of fresh food to choose from. Once selected food was served at your table. We liked the location Borgo Pio which is close to St Peters Basilica with all major attractions within a 20 minute walk. We would highly recommend this hotel

A small, friendly, nicely furnished hotel very close to the Vatican City and the Castel Sant'Angelo. Within a very easy hour stroll you can weave your way to see all the main sights in Rome.
The rooms are a reasonable size, very clean, and pleasantly furnished. The bathroom with a good shower and hair dryer is similar. Rooms are equipped with a flat screen TV ( few English channels), a safe and fridge. A very comfortable room. There is no kettle, only a capsule coffee machine ( it is Italy). Control of the air con/ heating is limited. Maybe a little warm for me.
some noise can be heard from the street but at this time of year that is not really a problem. The street has a nice mix of shops and places to eat, restaurants, bakers, patisseries, sandwich shops, several small mini markets, shops selling religious regalia.
There is a good selection at the breakfast buffet including a selection of pastries,cake, warm food like scrambled eggs, yogurt, fruit. Something for every one. Fresh coffee can be made to order.
The staff at the hotel are very friendly, efficient and helpful.
Rome has a 6E tax per person per night. This is clearly displayed at the reception desk, paid at the end of our stay.
The shuttle bus stops a 10 min easy walk from the hotel, 10 mins to the tram or metro.
In summary a really nice small hotel of a good standard at a reasonable price on a side street within easy reach of all Rome has to offer.

The hotel is located on a “closed to vehicle traffic” section of Borgo Pio. The street was a pedestrian thoroughfare festooned with restaurants, gelato shops, religious artifact stores (2 blocks from the Vatican!) and nice bars. We stayed 6 days and five nights and each evening from our 4th floor hotel, we could open the French doors to the small balcony overlooking the street below and it was a magnificent site. Looking west, the street ended at the formidable walls of Vatican City… to the East, Castle SanAngelo’s own walls stood. The sunrise and sunsets were splendid! The location and the street below made for a very spectacular urban setting that I truly relished. The Hotel was obscure from street level, blending in easily with the scene that surrounded it. The Lobby was pristine with cleanliness and the furnishings were pleasant. The staff was in typical European fashion, very professional and courteous. All of the employees that we engaged spoke better English than I and communication was not a problem! The room we had was large and very comfortable with a great queen size bed and a very good cooling system. The bathroom was large, well lit, and the shower was a thing of true relaxation! Hot water with good pressure! Another European rarity! The breakfast was well organized and the offerings were sufficient to energize for the days events. The staff was very friendly but not overly aggressive with attention (very relaxing). We have already discussed the next journey to Rome and THIS will be our headquarters again for the next go round!!

We stayed for three nights, checking out today. It’s a nice clean hotel and the staff are friendly and helpful but it doesn’t quite live up to the fabulous reviews that I read when booking. Just niggly bits that meant that it doesn’t compare well to other 4 star hotels in the same price range. There’s one coffee pod and one decaf coffee pod in your room when you arrive, but that’s it you don’t get any refills for the rest of your stay, no milk either for the decaf. Only one towel per guest so ladies you’re going to have to choose between drying your body or your hair but not both at the same time. There’s no glasses in the room so when I woke up in the night needing a drink, I had to drink from the bathroom tap. The mini bar had a half eaten chocolate bar that someone had put back so we had to buy another one from the shop over the road to avoid paying the inflated mini bar charge. There’s a desk but no mirror, i couldn’t do my make up in the steamed up bathroom while my partner got his shower so I sat on the floor by the door to do my make up and then moved to the bathroom when he’d finished to do my hair, it would have been easier just sitting at the desk to do both. We were in room 320 which doesn’t have a nice view of the pretty street below, but that’s not something that can be helped, someone has to have it. I realise these are all small things but put together, the lack of attention to detail made the room fairly underwhelming. Breakfast however is nice, there’s a good selection and waiting staff are attentive. Location is great, it’s right next to the Vatican and basilica. Other attractions are within walking distance. There’s some really lovely restaurants on the hotels street so you don’t have to go far for evening meal after a long day walking around. All in all I feel it’s a nice average hotel, a bit ‘meh’ nothing to be particularly enthusiastic about.

The only thing 4 star about this hotel is that it is 100 meters from The Vatican. We paid 450€ to stay here for 3 nights, and while we can’t predict the weather, I would expect a hotel to offer SKY in other languages other than ONLY Italian. We were given a very very basic room on the first floor, which had a tiny shower and only coffee for one serving. At breakfast we sat a table only to have them spill juice everywhere, so we moved. I was brought a really greasy coffee, yes they changed it, but it is odd for a 4*. I had my room upgraded as I’d like a bath for what I paid, and while it’s raining here, still Sky is only in Italian, there’s only 1 coffee... You can’t talk to anyone to get things sorted out. Just don’t stay here if you like things to be nice. It’s not worth it. There are so many other hotels to choose from there’s no need to stay here. A perfect day on holiday is: Get up for breakfast Go out for the day Return at 4pm to relax - watch a movie 7pm our for dinner and drinks.
There’s no relax but here. I‘d rather be at home.

We just would like to explain that the room you've been given at first is a superior double with nice natural lighting and a lovely view on Borgo Pio, already an upgrade in our opinion. Then, after the unexpected thundersorms that jammed the satellite tv signals momentarily, we offered a further free upgrade in fourth floor suite and free room service breakfast for the reminder of the stay as compensation, apologizing for what happened. The hotel is right in the centre, with St.Peter's Square around the corner. The street outside the hotel had some authentic Pizzeria (check for a 15% service charge). There are some which do not. A gelateria is nearby as well. The hotel is clean and has put in social distancing measures and had plenty of hand sanitizer stations. Breakfast is a modified buffet where you choose what you want and the breakfast staff place everything on a tray and take to your table. Face masks are mandatory inside, so remember to take one with you. We had a relaxing stay and would recommend this hotel.

Great hotel in heart of Rome very close to St Peters Square and the Vatican. All staff were very polite and helpful. Hotel spotless and very modern. Rooms were excellent and again spotless, cleaned daily to a very high standard, you are provided with an espresso machine. There is also a fridge with mini bar. Free WiFi throughout Hotel with no password required. Plenty of choice for breakfast, continental or cooked depending on your taste, Plenty of fresh fruit and also nice selection of pastries and cereals, it does get busy at certain times but you can book a preferred time slot at reception,small bar within reception area with good choice of beers, wines and spirits. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again when we come back to Rome.

Room. The room was spacious but the bathroom had no lock or a shower curtain round the bath so the floor was flooded every day. I had two espresso pods for the whole 4 days. They charge If you want extra! The beds are solid. They were cleaned daily by a friendly gentleman so that was a positive. Also the area seemed quiet I heard no noise from outside or other guests.
Food. Breakfast was average. Toaster didn’t really toast the bread. It was nothing spectacular. There is no option for evening meal but the street outside is full of restaurants.
Location. 5 mins walk from the Vatican. We could walk into Rome centre in 30 mins which was fine for us we knew when we booked the location so happy with that.
Rome was amazing and as hotels go it was fine but missing that extra sparkle to make it a 4 star stay for me I’m afraid!
All the staff I saw were nice. No issues there.

It was my first time in rome so I was just excited and ready to explore. Upon arrival to the hotel, we were greeted by Emmanuel whom checked us in and made our trip a little extra special. The room we were supposed to stay in had a late checkout, most hotels would hold your luggage and provide you with activity recommendations until it is ready. But no, Emmanuel upgraded us to a beautiful suite with a terrace which allowed us immediate check it. It kicked things off with an amazing start! The room was stunning and more spacious than we could have ever imagined! Thank you Emmanuel for your outstanding customer service!
Some other notable stay experiences included; the breakfast was tasty and had options for all dietary restrictions. All staff and learned your names so you would never walk past without saying hello. You could truly not beat the location where most sights could be accessed with a 20 minute walk but tucked away from most of the noise and crowded tourist streets. The hotel was nestled in a quiet but bustling street for food traffic, wine bars and restaurants. If we didn't want to walk, it was incredibly easy to call an Uber or Taxi to get us to/from. It was clean and very Covid friendly, they took every precaution they could to ensure guests were kept safe.
I highly recommend staying here! Absolutely no complaints and we hope to return soon!

We booked this hotel based on positive reviews of hotels in the area of the Vatican. It did not disappoint. We booked two nights: one just before our cruise and one just after the cruise. The first night we were given a room with a king size bed; it was cozy, clean and convenient. The elevator really helps, though if you require accessibility, you should mention this in advance as there are two extra steps to get to half of the rooms. Outside the door, from dawn to late night, there are many restaurants offering alfresco dining. So many delicious options between the hotel and the Vatican less than half a mile away. One of the hotel employees, Chiara, spoke English like an American, and was tremendously helpful re: our arrangements for a private car to transport us between the airport (60 Euros; 70 Euros if the driver must come at 6 am (and he was early!)) and the hotel, and between the hotel and the port (155 Euros). When we couldn't find our driver upon airport arrival she acted as go-between and saved the day. Though we also needed help to connect with our driver upon arrival at the port (another hotel employee helped) we were definitely happy the hotel offered this service and would use their service again. The second night Chiara upgraded us to the penthouse with a balcony! This room was fantastic, with a fainting couch in the bedroom area, a separate room with a couch between the bedroom and the bathroom, and a massive bathroom with a shower and a jetted tub. Balcony views included St. Peter's dome. Book this hotel!
