The hotel is in the charming Monteverde neighborhood just outside of Rome. Ideal location with beautiful parks close by, bus service, and local shops for traveler's needs. The men that run the front desk during the morning and afternoon are cold and unpleasant, same for the bell staff. The complimentary breakfast in the morning (dining room) is good and better than most. However, the downstairs bar was closed the whole time we stayed. The in room TV (streaming) was poor as the wifi was inconsistent. One of the highlights of the hotel is the Housekeeping, Paola was a sweetheart as the in room cleaning was meticulous and spotless. The neighborhood charming and quiet nights make this hotel standout. The amenities and service need some improvement.

Excellent Staff! All the staff are charming, welcoming, informative and helpful. The location is fantastic. The pool is clean. Breakfast was delightful and the bar in the evening was perfect for a quiet drink. The bus service is right outside making the rest of Rome easily accessible if you aren’t able to walk in the heat. Taxi to airport was 55 euros. We had a hotel arranged private transfer on arrival which was 80 euros but worth it as we arrived late and were welcomed by the driver.

First experience of staying in this hotel. Easily reachable coming from the North (Appia Antica), it has internal parking offered at a more than reasonable rate and in any case, from what I have seen, the neighboring streets towards Porta S. Pancrazio have frequent parking spaces available. Excellent accommodation and attentive and courteous staff. I didn't have the opportunity to try the restaurant as the dinners had already been planned elsewhere. In particular I would like to highlight the professionalism and kindness of Beatrice, the receptionist with whom I interfaced several times, who on every occasion was able to combine her evident predisposition for problem solving with appreciable qualities of availability and empathy. Congratulations to you and the hotel management.

I went for a business trip and went for 1 night, the hotel is an old one may be it is historical, the room was small but the bed was so comfortable, people were so helpful special thanks to regina, the bathroom was so clean, the breakfast didn’t include so many varieties, for ppl didn’t go rome before, ginocolo location is at a high place so if you are going to visit center of rome i.e st. Peter basilica or fontana di travi, it will took 45 mins. Walking. So i suggest taking a bus or a taxi. Otherwise the hotel is suitable for business trip.

This was the last leg of our holiday. We booked for 4 nights. The air con is variable and they can only control it centrally so if you want the temperature changed you have to go to reception everytime and even then it doesn't actually work. The hotel is a bit dated too.. Extremely small shower cubicles and one evening we had no hot water. No-one apologised for inconvenience. The pool is larger than expected but loungers are crammed around the pool so it feels like you're lying on top of one another. We only used the pool for a hour or so after sightseeing. There was a large group of men one afternoon who decided to play loud music which was not great. Our room was just above the events room and the music was unbearably loud one night. The breakfast quality is also poor. All in all this hotel was disappointing. We booked it as it is rare to find a pool so central in Rome. It was nice to cool off after such hot daytime temperatures but the quality of the overall stay was poor. It really has the potential to be so much better than it is. Wouldn't really recommend.

I return after celebrating an amazing wedding in 2015. Now I attend their pool[ always clean] which has a gazebo that gives the opportunity to stay sheltered from the sun and heat. Lunch is pleasant (it offers different possibilities from salads to simple first courses and main courses) the staff is always polite. You can live a small holiday staying in the city (Roman holidays...) also because standing in front of Villa Panfili is also sheltered from traffic noise. Highly Recommendation

We absolutely loved our stay. This is a four star hotel within a 20 minute walk of the historic centre and it has a gorgeous pool! The hotel is absolutely immaculate, we could not find fault with the cleanliness of this hotel. Our room was well appointed with everything we needed, although the shower was quite small. What made this hotel so special was the staff. They were excellent in particular Georgia and Julio who waited on us twice when we ate in the restaurant. They were friendly chatty every day we were there. The restaurant overlooks the pool and the food was excellent, again we could not fault it. There is parking but if you can get a space on the street it’s free which the hotel also advised us.

Hotel good rooms spotlessly clean very small and in need of redecoration in places. Our air conditioning leaked all over floor and although we spoke to someone in early hours of Sunday morning we were told they were too busy to attend as there was a major problem elsewhere!? In the morning we told reception again to be told by very abrupt man it will get sorted but we could change rooms. We were leaving the next day so didn’t bother and as another member of our party had the same problem thought this could be in all of rooms. I got the feeling that this happens frequently , the ceiling actually had a hole in it where the water came down.. for €145 I do feel the service wasn’t good. The staff were very friendly and very helpful except for reception staff. .The small rotund man with dark hair and glasses and the 2 girls need to realise they are first point of call and maybe smile a bit and be a little friendlier.. maybe a quick refresher course of what their job entails. all were efficient just lacking any warmth. The bar staff were excellent. Breakfast good and had a variety of different foods . I feel they should have put on their website that their restaurant wasn’t open in the evenings even though they advertise an autumnal menu and laundry service wasn’t available. Though there is a room with an iron which was needed as we were attending a wedding , the pool an added bonus even wearing the swimming caps! On the whole an enjoyable few days stay..except for the soggy mess

We chose the Grand Hotel Gianicolo for our daughter's confirmation lunch. As soon as we arrived, thanks to the beautiful weather, we were welcomed in the garden and we ate there all the appetizers, one better than the other and always special and plentiful. The beautiful Corte degli Archi room, with an elegant table setting, with a table for cake, wedding favors and gifts. All our guests had a great time and we stayed longer than expected for how well we were doing. Thanks to all the staff who were always attentive and friendly. Thanks also to Mr. Antonino Saccà for the special treatment he wanted to reserve us, being the second event in the year that we celebrated with them. We hope to visit you soon.

This hotel is very attractive fro the outside. The room we were allocated was a standard one and we were not happy with the small size of the room and the incredibly small grubby shower cubicle. We asked to change room. The receptionist informed us that we could spend our last 2 nights in another room but that all the rooms were very similar anyway, she indicated that it would not be worth our while. I find this an incredible admission as the hotel clearly advertises 3 standards of room with 3 differing prices! If the rooms are the same, why do this!? It seems somewhat dishonest. We did move room and it was slightly bigger with a shower over the bath! The bath was a spa bath that did not work and had loose fittings. However, the staff were very pleasant and the pool area was a lovely place to have breakfast. The breakfast had to adhere to Covid restrictions and so the waiters brought your food to your table. Breakfasts were good. The position of the hotel is excellent, the area is lovely, the views from a 5 minute walk spectacular over Rome. However, beware when distances to the city or town area are given because if you walk you are on top of a hill, the quoted distances in the hotel information may look OK but it is a very steep long climb back up to the hotel from the town area. Restricted mobilty would be a problem. I recommend the Antico Arco restaurant next to the hotel, food absolutely delicious. The bar also next to the hotel (1 minute walk) sells coffee, beverages, alcohol etc at much more reasonable prices than the hotel . All in all I would say that this was a 3 star not a 4 star hotel. If you have realistic expectations before you go you will not be disappointed. The hotel is a fine 3 star.

Bus stop is very close by and taxis also easy to order and fast to arrive, but bus routes go everywhere. There are also nice sights and restaurants in Trastevere within a reasonable walk from the hotel.

Hello , generally May is really warm in may , the evenings can get a little chillier , especially if you are staying in the hills , however a light jacket or cotton sweater will doubtless be enough , I am very envious , will be there later in. June , have a wonderful time !!!
There are more places to choose from in the Rome area.
