Neighbourhood
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

From the first moment, we felt welcome at Hotel Emona Aquaeductus! Francesca at the front desk was most helpful and gave us excellent advice regarding the Metro (Underground) as well as restaurants, etc. We enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable and breakfast was delicious!

Hotel is quirky and clean . Staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms however were very dated and tatty. Or tiny bath with the shower over was rusty . The shower itself would not stay in the position you put it and therefore soaked the whole room. We had a adjoining room

Trattori Pigneto (ex I Porchettoni) is an awesome restaurant that makes excellent porchetta amongst other things. There’s also a few Roman pizza shops in the local vicinity. The convivent location of the hotel also makes it accessible to fancier spots as well.

Hi. There are buses on the airport, every half an hour , few different companies, tickets you can buy on the airport in the kiosk 5.50€. I will book a colosseum tickets online, I have done it, all what you have to do is show them barcode on your phone and you go straight inside. We missed like 2 hours waiting in the queue. It was really worth it. Any questions feel free to ask. Thank you xxx
