I’m sorry to say but I was very disappointed with this hotel that has a 4* rating. I’d give it 2-3*. We had a triple room located on first floor. Room 108. Although spacious, the room needs refurbishing. It looked tired and the white headboard in need of replacement. There was a door out onto a dirty patio area with no views other than other apartment blocks. The room was very dimly lit with only two small down lighters by the door. The rest of the ceiling had no lights at all. Only dim bedside lamps and a floor lamp at the other end of the room. The bathroom was ok except for the stained toilet pan which needs replacing to bring it up to higher standard and a sink that didn’t drain easily, this coupled with an unpleasant odour which seemed to permeate through every now and again was further disappointing. The pillows on the bed felt like lead weights they were so hard and when I asked for softer pillows at reception I was told that was all they had! The front desk staff were not particularly friendly either. The TV also didn’t work properly and in the heatwave, the aircon was limited at 21c which wasn’t cool enough. The breakfast was reasonable although why a four star hotel can’t provide fresh juice instead of artificial juice is beyond me. The coffee was very good but I had to ask for decaf as that wasn’t available with the regular coffee. The positive things I can say are that the the mattress was very comfortable and the shower pressure was great. Location was ok, although a good 10 minute walk to Metro and 3 stops to Colosseum for only €1.50 so that was good value. Getting around on the metro is easy and efficient. We were there in a heatwave reaching temps circa 34c which is incredibly hot when walking everywhere sightseeing. Totally unexpected weather! Normally cooler for June. Sadly, I would not recommend this hotel until it’s been completely refurbished to a much higher standard.…
Stayed here for 3 nights with breakfast included! Excellent breakfast and cappuccino was amazing in this hotel! Very basic but very nice! Fresh fruit , cereals, cakes, different croissants , yoghurt’s, tea/coffee & cooked bacon & scrambled eggs is only option for hot food. Location is excellent in my opinion & it’s close to the train station and local metro. Rooms very clean and staff at front desk very helpful and polite. All in All a very nice hotel & I would recommend and stay here again!
To the owners of Hotel caravel and jet2, serious reservations about the tall man with glasses at reception…no welcome when we arrived, no offer of local advice. General attitude a disgrace for front of house. This is my first bad review on trip advisor but I am very disappointed, I do not feel comfortable at all here
As per the country requirements we were supposed to have either a vaccination pass or a negative covid test. We had both done in the UK, we brought the covid letter confiming that we were vaccinated which the hotel didn’t accept as there wasn’t a QR code to be scanned. So we showed them our covid test which we did prior to our departure to Italy, the QR code there wasn’t recognized by the app so they told us basically they only accept QR done in Italy…. Everywhere else in the country we had no issues with the green pass we presented from the UK, but here we had to spend some extra money to be able to stay at the hotel…
Well organized and quiet! It's a bit far from the center, though it's located in a super quiet area, close to a street with all shops and the main street has buses' routes to the city center. Pay a visit and notice the tranquility there as well as the kindness of the staff.
My room was basically comfortable and staff were friendly, but there were a number of things that detracted from the experience. The traffic is pretty loud with the window open; so I'm guessing a room in the back of the hotel would have been preferable. My laptop got enough power from the outlet to operate but not to charge, so it turned off immediately after being unplugged. The shower head sprays water in all directions. There are no bars of soap, only the liquid kind. Vegan options at breakfast were limited; I had the fruit salad, which was good but there was a relatively small amount of it available. The breakfast room has limited capacity and my group (four people) couldn't be there at the same time; but this is understandable as a precaution against Covid.
Stayed at this hotel in mid September for a week, supposedly a 4star hotel, on arrival late afternoon were told that the bar and restaurant were closed indefinitely and no room service was available due to COVID-19 , despite the fact that before we traveled to Rome from London were assured the hotel was operating normally. The hotel is in the business district so a good 45 minute walk to the centre of the city, buses are available but you need to get a ticket beforehand. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel itself is looking tired and a bit rundown, the room was not what I expected of a 4 star hotel, the bathroom sink waste leaked on the floor and the plug in the bath was broken. The continental breakfast had limited choice available. I I were to visit Rome again I would no stay here due to the condition of the hotel and also it is too far from the city centre.…
Just been back 24 hours, the hotel is a good 40 minute walk to coliseum , then on from there into centre, the hotel was lovely and clean we stayed 622, room cleaned daily , fresh towels daily, the cleaner did leave out of date milk twice but bought some anyway, breakfast was just cakes or cereal croissants, tea, coffee, juice ,no toast or anything like that , that’s the only thing that annoyed me but maybe due to covid I’m not sure, nice anyway , we did all the sites to see, enjoyed all of it and if came again I would return to caravel, be aware that they charge you €6 pp per night tourist tax don’t really agree with paying it but I don’t make the rules ! Thanks again
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and the staff and food were excellent. For your money, you would not find any better in Rome. The rooms are very nice and spacious. We opted for the breakfast which did not disappoint. The hotel is a good 40 minute walk from Rome centre but only 10-15 minute drive and it is not too expensive if you opt for a taxi. There are also plenty of restaurants around the hotel, some of the traditional Italian side street restaurants serve amazing food. The room, bar, restaurant and reception are all very clean and well decorated. Would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend.
Could not fault anything Excellent hotel staff very friendly and helpful would do anything for you Excellent cleanliness through out the hotel room was big and comfortable. Only had one dinner but was very tasty would definitely use this hotel again
