This is my second visit to this hotel and because of these hotels I am a member of the Marriott loyalty program. Everything was perfect from check-in to check-out. The location of the hotel is excellent, very close to the Vatican, and all other attractions can be easily reached on foot. I must admit that I like the location a little further than the tourist bustle, and the proximity of the courthouse further enhances the sense of security.
The hotel has been renovated since my last visit and it can be seen everywhere, the rooms are beautiful, modern and perfectly functional. The staff is more than friendly, and I would particularly commend the lady who works at the bar - I have not met such elegance and professionalism in a long time.
All the benefits of my loyalty program membership were realized. The cost of accommodation is reasonable, and I would say that the hotel provides excellent value for money. All in all, a great hotel and I don't think I will look for other options on my next visits to Rome.
Thank you for your wonderful service and I hope to see you again soon!

Alright here’s a REAL review: this place is just okay. While staff is nice and the location is great, everything else is subpar. This is an old hotel that lacks a clean feeling and updated interiors. Rooms are old (think wood paneling, dusty nickel finishes, small square footage, and dirty nooks & crannies), small, and NOT sound-proof. My husband looked at three different rooms on two different floors during our first night. Why? House-keeping slams doors all day & night as they clean, the people above us kept dragging the desk chair all over the floor in the middle of the night while stomping back and forth, and our room smelled like sewage. While I later learned that the sewage smell is a country-wise issue, everything else was unavoidable as we were able to hear the same noises in all the new rooms we were offered. I was also annoyed by room service: after seeing the menu list room service items available 24/7, I was told that it was a “misprint” when I called to order a snack so I couldn’t order a single thing to eat.

In summary, rooms don’t feel clean because they smell so badly and have rusty bathrooms; noise from other tenants seeps right through floors and walls; and dated interiors make this place feel like a horror movie. If you’re one of those people that don’t care about aesthetic, experience, or noise levels, this is for you. If you’re like me, you’ll avoid this place like the plague.

The hotel's location is perfect as it is in a very calm area but still very close (walking distance) to most of the attractions.
The room are not very spacious but are clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
The prices range between 120 to 220 euros depending on the season, but are fair in terms of quality/price ratio.

Location is great and most of the front desk is friendly and also the breakfast staff do their best to make you feel welcome.
Could be because of reduced service due to Covid but not at all happy with our stay this time as we have stayed with this brand in multiple cities and have had a great experience.
The response times when you call room service is terrible.Housekeeping forgot either the towels or water etc., and it took multiple reminders to get the service. Cleanliness was average as many times the bathroom was not cleaned well.
There is no coffee machine in the lobby and the breakfast does not open till 7am after which it takes time since they have to serve you in the buffet due to Covid restrictions. This is an issue when you have early morning meetings/flights or tours setup and do not get even a cup of pick me up :(
Makes me rethink about booking Le Meridien for future travels.

We loved our location... Near all the tourist spots, but still off the beaten path enough to avoid congestion. Laura greeted us with a smile and was so helpful with directions. She truly catered to our needs with a complimentary room upgrade and even called our next stop in Naples to make sure of the location and confirm our reservation. Ciao Rome - thank you for having us!

It has a great location, in close proximity to many sights, including The Vatican. Travel from/to FCO is very easy and inexpensive on an express bus service ( about 7 minutes walk). The neighbourhood is pleasant and relaxing.
The hotel itself is very ordinary; rooms are tiny and poorly ventilated. Bathrooms are cubicle style. The breakfast is edible but not memorable. The coffee is poor ( except for Italian guests who seem to be offered a Barista service, while others are restricted to the instant flow from a machine). The internal noise is significant. Views are limited.
When rates are relatively low this hotel could be a reasonable choice, but it has many shortcomings. It’s not terrible but it’s far from great.

I stayed here for 4 nights on a work trip. The hotel is updated in most places but I felt I was in an updated Hampton Inn vs a mid-upscale brand like Le Meridien. The rate was low ($160 Euro) with free breakfast and you get what you pay for. Review below…

Bonvoy Status: D
Rooms: B-
I am Titanium Platinum status and at check in they say “we upgraded you to an executive room”. This was a room on the 6th floor, nothing more nothing less. My coworkers with no status were also on this floor. The room was modern and the bed was comfy, but it’s a tiny room lacking enough USB outlets (none at the desk, only 1 at bedside). The walls are also paper thin and you could hear people talking next door. I had no view. So in essence I received nothing for my status. Shower water pressure was good and shower got hot right away which was a plus. And the room is very clean with good bath products and includes a robe and slippers.

Housekeeping: A
Came every day and did a great job.

Location: B
It’s closer to the Vatican and you can walk 1 to 2 miles to most of the main sites or attractions. But it’s on a side street harder to get taxi’s. Do Uber instead they come quickly and it’s not expensive. The benefit to the side street is that the hotel is quieter with little outside noise.

Breakfast food: C+
Breakfast staff: D
The breakfast is free but it’s the exact same thing every day which gets boring. There is no omelet station. The potatoes were near raw. Nice selection of pastries but I wish they had more or different hot food. The staff however was not that nice. One day we accidentally sat at a table that had a “reserved” sign despite the restaurant being two-thirds empty. The staff practically yelled at us since we had already started eating there and just had an attitude most mornings. If they were so concerned where people sit they should bring us to tables. If it’s “sit anywhere” don’t reserve tables.

If you are looking for a good rate the hotel is fine. It’s clean and in a decent location. It just didn’t wow me for a LM brand.

Dear BostonGirl02118, Thank you for staying at Le Méridien Visconti Rome and for taking the time to share your experience with other travellers via Tripadvisor. We are glad to see that you appreciated the cleanliness of our rooms and the Malin+Goetz bath amenities that are a distinctive element of the Méridien brand. We were surprised to read your comments about the USB outlets, as there are actually two at the bedside, along with two power outlets. Please know that we value the loyalty of our Bonvoy Titanium and Platinum guests and strive to recognize that loyalty with free upgrades to our best available rooms, including standards suites, whenever available. We are disappointed to learn that your experience with our breakfast team members was not the warm and welcoming experience that we aim to deliver and that our guests have come to know and expect. Please be assured that your comments have been shared with our management team as part of our constant efforts to improve on for future stays. We hope there will be an opportunity for us to welcome you back in the future and leave you a better impression next time. Kind regards, Palma D Guest Experience Team

What a wonderful hotel! Breakfast was fantastic, they had a great variety of everything and the staff was always super friendly. The rooms were updated, I always love the USB phone chargers near the bed so you dont' have to mess with the adapters. We stayed for over a week and found lots of great places to eat in the neighborhood and loved that we were close to a great shopping street Via Cola Di Rienzo and also a quick walk to the Vatican and across the river to the other sights. We also loved the cozy and comfortable bar/lounge area. Great service and nice wines!

Stayed 4 nights and was very happy. Quiet neighborhood that is easily walkable to all the sights in Rome. Nearby restaurants are excellent. Hotel staff are friendly and efficient. Special call out to Nicolla who helped arrange a very nice room and early check in. Hotel has a nicely equipped gym that is clean. Only one issue was with breakfast. The room gets very busy at certain hours and the food is often picked over—they have a hard time keeping it clean and stocked. Ask for a high floor to avoid street noise but rooms have double drapes that do a good job of dampening noise. Lastly, they did turn down service our first night, but never again through out our stay. Rooms are modern, bathroom was small and not a lot room to keep toiletries.

We received a warm welcome from friendly staff when we arrived at the hotel. Our room was modern, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and the set up meant it didn’t feel too busy. The hotel is located in a quiet district compared to other areas of Rome. The hotel is within walking distance to explore many attractions in the city. There are plenty of restaurants within the surrounding streets of the hotel. Overall, we had an excellent stay at this hotel in the magnificent city of Rome, we would definitely stay here again.

We arrived by taxi from Fiumicino airport, it was a fixed rate of €50. The official taxi rank is clearly signposted at arrivals with white cars with their badge number and prices clearly displayed on the passenger door.

Dear, I did not see any. But I assume, there are some in the neighbourhood. Often, if you go to a lower star Merriott (cheaper), they have! The location is good though!

You'll need a plug adaptor and Italy is a bit different. MOST electronics are dual voltage like phones and computers. BUT American hair dryers and flat irons etc will need a power converter or they'll need to be dual voltage.

No, it does not. However, there are many pharmacies nearby that do. It is a quick and easy process. The hotel can help you locate a pharmacy that does Covid testing.
