Patria is an average hotel that needs improvements. One can cover basic needs. Hot water, good temperature, adequately clean and close to piazza republica. These are the advantages. The triple room was too small for us. They fitted a 3rd small bed between the main bed, the mirror and the window, yoo could only walk to the bathroom and back to bed and the door. The intense smell of chlorine bleach on the old towels was really annoying. We paid for a triple room with breakfast, our agent had informed them that we are vegans and they did nothing to cover our needs. We could only eat bread on breakfast. They told us that there was no extra charge for the breakfast, but they did nothing to care for us. The stuff is polite and helpful. We paid 77€ per day with taxes. Not value for money, We do not recommend it, except if someone wants to cover basic needs.

We stayed at Hotel Patria for 5 days.

The location of the hotel couldn’t have been better. It was 10 minute walk to Colosseum, Spanish Steps, Pantheon and only 15 minutes to the Trevi Fountain.
There was plenty of restaurants and cafes in the neighbouring streets as well as the coop supermarket less than 5 minutes walk away.

The hotel itself is dated but we knew this before booking. We stayed in one of the dated rooms but did not have an issue with this, after all we were only in there to sleep. They have however renovated floors 1 and 4, so the rooms on these floors look fantastic. They have a lift and they do provide breakfast which was at an extra cost. Check out was at 12pm and they have a luggage room for you to leave your belongings in so you can use your final day to explore.

Taxis were easy to pick up outside and round the hotel, but the staff on the desk are also able to call them for you.

Overall, we were happy with our stay. The best part of the hotel was location.

The Hotel Patria is a normal city hotel in Rome, but has everything you need to enjoy this fantastic city. The rooms are small and basic and the hotel has a small lounge area. The location of the hotel is great, in a side street from Via Nazionale and the main shopping area, lots of eateries nearby and Repubblica tube station is around the corner. The staff are professional and friendly, the breakfast adequate and you are also very nea to some of the main sights, namely the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and the Via Veneto.

First, the location is pretty much perfect. It's right around the corner from Piazza della Repubblica, and within a short distance of Termini Station meaning you can get to most of the main sights really easily on the Metro, or walking. Even coming from the airport, it's super accessible. It couldn't be in a better location.

My single room on the top floor was clean. It wasn't the most modern of rooms, but was perfectly functional. Hand soap and hair and body wash was included in the bathroom. There was a small fridge that was ideal for storing drinks. There's also a nice, modern TV. If you want to watch anything other than Italian TV, bring a HDMI cable for your laptop, or a streaming device. WiFi was close to gigabit speeds and was never an issue anywhere in the hotel. Finally, there's a small safe for your valuable, you won't be fitting a laptop or full-sized iPad in however.

I did have a few issues with the room. Firstly, there's a distinct lack of plug sockets. There was one at the desk which was occupied by the fridge which I unplugged when I needed to charge my laptop. There was one other behind the curtains which wasn't ideal, another next to the bathroom door, and one by the bedside that was partially blocked by the lightswitch. If they refurb these rooms anytime soon, I'd suggest adding more sockets if possible.

Secondly, the water pressure to the toilets was super low. On a couple of occasions, I couldn't flush the toilet as the tank took hours to refill, this could do with addressing urgently. Finally, the walls were a bit thin, and on one occasion, a couple of rowdy guests could be heard quite easily. However, in fairness, outside noise was minimal considering the city-centre location. I'd also suggest the hotel adds a way of calling reception from the room. There was a phone by the bedside, but no instructions on how to use it.

All of the staff I encountered were super friendly and helpful, they were a credit to the hotel. I arrived from the airport 2 hours before my scheduled check-in time, and after being awake all night, I was eager for a nap. They let me check in straight away, it was a pleasant experience.

Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

We got in late and the front desk staff were very welcoming and friendly. They set us up with the yellow suite on the first floor which was surprisingly big! The bed was comfy, the washroom was big with a nice shower and the room stayed very quiet. We had to ask for mugs for our kettle every evening but they were very quick to get them for us to bring to our room. The only downside was that the room was a little too warm for us in December but considering the price we paid we are very happy and hope to be back at the Hotel Patria one day!

The hotel is located in a very walkable area with many good restaurants, bakeries, shops and gelato places within a 15 minute walk. The big attractions also were not too far away and we could make it to the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and all kinds of Piazzas in under half an hour walking. Bus 64 which goes to the Vatican City stops about 100 m away from the hotel and Roma Termini Station to get to the airport and other cities in Italy was a 15 minute walk! Most importantly, we felt safe in our area.

Not the swankiest hotel in Rome but it makes up for it in shovels in quality. The staff are great, friendly and go over and above to help make your stay a great one. Breakfast is good, the coffee is great. My bed was more comfortable than my own! It's very clean with fresh towels and bedding daily. Centrally situated with nearby bus and metro stops, it can't be beaten for a solo traveller. I'd not hesitate to recommend it. If I return to Rome I'll definitely stay at Hotel Patria.

We originally booked a different hotel but after seeing the location for this hotel we changed to this one.
From the outside, the building defiantly fits into the theme of Rome. When we entered the building, we were greeted by friendly staff. The main entrance and the bar/restaurant area is a bit old and out dated BUT again it fits the theme of the old building. We didn't eat breakfast so we can't judge on this but I believe it was 10 Euros per person. The drinks in the bar were a decent price also.
Once checked in, we made our way to our room. The corridors and our room were much more modern than the downstairs entrance area. Our room was clean and tidy, quite small but perfect for the 2 of us and had everything we needed ie hairdryer, towels, safe and toiletries.
The hotel itself is in a really good location. Around the corner from Roma Termini so very easy to get from the airport. Also there is loads of restaurants around the area so very spoilt for choice, there is also a handful of nice shops and a small supermarket. It's a 15/20 walk from this hotel to the Trevi Fountain and about 25/30 mins from the Colosseum. Also 30 min walk to the zoo if youre visting with children. It's about an hour walk to the Vatican OR you can jump on the metro around the corner in 10 mins for a 1.50 single ticket.

Overall a lovely stay and I would deffo recommend this hotel if you want to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the main attractions.

Went to Rome on a Wowcher deal and the Patria was included. Fantastic location round the corner from Republica Metro Station and Termini Station, so first class transport links. The Rome Metro Linea A is all you need to see the sites of Rome and it’s so cheap. We were given an updated room which although smallish was perfect for a couple. Great staff at reception and fine advice on local restaurants including La Vecchia just 10 mins walk away for great local food at great prices. We had breakfast only on the morning we left and at 10 Euro for all you can eat it’s great value. Another recommend for breakfast Rosemary 2 mins walk away.

Stayed for 4 nights and couldn't have been happier with the hotel. Exceeded all expectations we had. Room was great, must have got one of the more modern rooms! Lots of space, comfy bed and the shower was great. All staff were friendly, letting us drop our bags off early on day of arrival so we could go explore and even took them up to the room for us once it was ready. Breakfast was great, the croissant selection was top tier! Even catered for my partner who is celiac and had options for him such as gluten free bread, cereal and biscuits!
Would definitely stay here again if in Rome, got all you need from a hotel and is in walking distances to a lot of the sites and two minutes from a metro stop.

We arrived and were booked in pleasantly without fuss. When I asked what floor we were on, we were told you are standard room 5th Floor. I thought ok, we were then told that the lift only went to the 4th floor and we would have to drag our luggage up the stairs/fire escape to the next floor. I am reasonably fit so not a huge issue. We arrived and opened the door and entered a small bedroom with little room around the double bed. There was a small table and chair and a TV. The bedside units were just boxes with no drawers etc. The wardrobe sliding door was stiff to move and dropped off the rail easily. All the furniture was battered, in fact I have thrown out better furniture than this. There was no kettle/tea/coffee etc but there was a very cold small fridge. There was a tiny safe which was fiddly and will take not much more than phones/passports. The bathroom was ok, but the shower cubicle was Hodge podge construction and the hot water supply was very temperamental. To be fair to the staff, the room was clean and was serviced every day with fresh towels etc, so no blame there. The breakfast was nice, well cooked and decent quality. However the small waiter guy could do with a crash course in manners! He was rude to me and others and berated a young woman in front of everyone for taking a little water in a bottle. One of the things that concerned me was that the fire escape was blocked with clean bed linen every morning! Also don't forget you will have to pay tourist tax when you leave.
Overall it is in a good central location, it is clean and the breakfast is good. With a bit of effort it could be so much better, but at it is I would not recommend it

I think you can request a more modern room if you pay the extra. Probably best to email as they are very helpful.. Ours was more modern and was lovely and comrtable. A perfect base for our stay.

I am sorry I don't know the answer to that, we where booked into a double but it was actually two singles pushed together that where not joined in the middle. It was a very small room and would have been a tight squeeze to have separated the beds, maybe that's the difference a bigger room to have separate beds. Sorry I can't be more help.

From Ciampino Airport, take the 520 bus to Cinecitta (hop off by the film studio), then take the Metro towards Battistini. Get off at the Repubblica stop and walk 2 mins to the hotel. This takes about 1 hour and costs €1.50. You can pay contactless on the bus.
