Detailed Reviews
Stayed here as a group of five, one double room and one triple. Booking direct online. My daughter was turning 21 on our arrival, and we had another birthday whilst staying for 4 nights. Had email contact with the hotel who offered to supply wine, cake or chocolate for the birthday. I had also asked for some restaurant recommendations so I could book in advance. Their suggestions were for good places that served amazing food (further reviews to be done).
We booked taxis through reception, left our baggage after check out and before heading to the airport. The breakfast was often busy, and we were offered to be seated together in a room just off the restaurant which was not a problem for us, in fact we quite liked it in there. Good continental breakfast.
Can highly recommend this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, it was clean and its in a great location.

The hotel's location is amazing, but the room we were accomodated wasn't the best. Located on the first floor (or second if ground floor counts as first) the street noises can be heard throughout the room, regardless of the time. The breakfast was okay but the coffee was limited and for three people and small cups you'd wish for more. Overall it was okay.

The Hotel Regno is ideally situated on the Via Del Corso which means it’s a 3 min walk to the Trevi Fountain (handy for a crack of dawn visit when you can actually see it) and about a 10 min walk to the Pantheon. If you don’t mind a walk the Coloseum is 20 min away and Vatican City 30 mins on foot.
Bad things about the hotel:
1. it has absolutely no soundproofing whatsoever so after listening for an hour to our Italian neighbours have a new year row and then make up (!) we then had motorbike and car flybys until well into the early hours. That was night of the 1st Jan so there may have been some partying going on as the next two nights were much better. You can hear all the street noise though.
2. It’s rather dated and lacks in a modern TV and any/enough accessible plug sockets, we shared the TV socket for charging our phones in turn.
3. We were on a higher floor and the WiFi was atrocious.
4. Some poor folks had rooms directly off the breakfast room.
Good things:
1. Location, location, location!
2. Beds and pillows were comfortable
3. Breakfast was good - excellent mini doughnuts.
4. Rooms are a good size
5. Pleasant and helpful staff
6. The shower power was fantastic (although as the screen was a little small this led to a lake formation in the bathroom)

+1
Stayed here for four nights. The hotel is in an excellent location. Trevi fountain and Pantheon are very close to the hotel. As the hotel is on Via del corso there are lots of shops and major outlets around. I was initially concerned that due to the location the room would be noisy with traffic sound etc, however the soundproofing in the room is excellent. There are double glazed windows and additional shutters that block out the noise from the road. The hotel is newly renovated and is very clean. The room was nice and bright there was also a mini fridge with free drinks and peanuts. Breakfast was on the rooftop (6th floor). The breakfast options were adequate although there could possibly have been more of a variety, however as it is included with the booking it is fine. The air on was also very good and easy to set to desired temperature. Towels are changed on the third day although I’m sure you could ask to change if needed. The room also had a kettle and tea and coffee. I would likely stay here again in future if the price was right.

I booked this room solely for its great location in the vicinity of some locations where I wanted to do some photography - especially the Trevi Fountain. It is a one minute walk tot he fountain from the front door of the hotel. I was near the top floor so the traffic noise was minimal. The staff was very friendly - although the ones I encountered had limited English. The room was spacious and had everything I required.

This hotel is all about its location!! With the Trevi Fountain just across the road and the Pantheon behind it, evening walks to the various restaurants and seeing the sights lit up is enchanting. Even the Colosseum is a 20 minute walk away but using the city electric scooters makes it 5 mins away. The staff are very friendly and helpful too. Our room was very basic and dated with a hard bed and no tea/coffee facilities or toiletries. The flush need fiddling with to make it stop running water continuously and you could hear a water cistern when others in the building were having a shower etc. It does need to be updated but I’d stay again just to be so central. A typical 3* I’d say.

Minutes away from Trevi and Pantheon. I could not believe how near these were. Visited these 2 places more than once just because I could. Even at 11pm, you can sit at one of these places, knowing that you are merely minutes walk away.
Walking distance from Colosseum, Spanish Steps, Venezia and Bernini's Fountain. Bus stop few steps away and so, 15 minutes from Rome Termini by 85.
Room was small, nay very very small, and far away from elevator, up and down further steps, but staff is friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was also nice, with good coffee.
Nothing trumps location though and so,

Stayed here with my partner for his 1st time in Rome. Booked via British Airways as a package....
If you want a big and modern hotel then this isn't the one for you....but then why come to Rome?! As long as it's clean, welcoming and provides a good breakfast all of your other time should be spent out sightseeing and taking in the history. Everything is within walking distance from this hotel, the location is perfect!
All of the staff that we can in to contact with were friendly and helpful. The room we had overlooked the main street out front, it was clean and had plenty of room for the 2 of us. The breakfast was your typical continental breakfast and there was more than enough of a selection, if anything ran out then the staff were very quick to notice and replace it. The fresh coffee served with breakfast was amazing!
Don't think i have anything bad at all to say about this hotel! We loved it so much that as soon as we got back we booked again to go in November! I have requested the same room so fingers crossed the hotel staff can arrange this for us!

Really basic small hotel room with a slight stale odour and a constant running fan noise at night. If you get a decent room it is a good location but beware checkout. Even though we paid up front including the city tax, they demanded full payment again. Only when we showed the email confirmation were we allowed to leave but not without paying the city tax AGAIN! which they demanded. Would not recommend or stay here again.

Response from hotelregno, Responsabile reception at Hotel Regno
Responded 13 Feb 2020
Dear Friend, We are sorry to learn your overall experience with us was so distressful. Let's clarify a few points though: Room booked online was a small double room which is basically an economy, run of house room type with a French bed usually pushed onto the wall. Room was upgraded for free, before you even asked, and you were given a bigger room with a standard bed. Being a not refundable reservation we were aware the guest was not to be charged. City tax has to be paid on the spot, that is why you were asked to do so, as the operator who booked the room for you only covers the accomodation cost. We do not think that front desk manager on duty acted improperly or with tricky intentions. We surely have many flaws but dishonesty is not one of them. Our service and property might not appeal to everybody but feedbacks we get are very positive and we are proud of it. We suggest to ask the property when in doubt about costs, room type, or services to avoid any inconvenices or surprises once on the premises. Hope this straightens things up. Have a nice one. Regards

This was my fourth visit to Hotel Regno (I first came here in 1994). It is in a fabulous location, close to the main sights of Rome and surrounded by many great little restaurants. I stayed for eight days in a room at the top of the building; noise was minimal and I had a lovely view out the window. I usually have a simple breakfast and the one provided at the Regno was exactly right, with bottomless cups of the best coffee I have ever had (a big statement as Melbourne coffee sets a high standard!). I will be back.
