We stayed in the premium suite for only 1 night because we were headed to Amalfi the next day. We wished we had more time in Rome because we loved the hotel so much! It has a charming vibe, friendly and professional staff, ideal central location, and a great selection of room types. We will definitely be staying at Nerva again in the future!

This small hotel close to both the Forum and the Coliseum is an ideal base for visiting Rome if you would like a quieter location, away from mobs of tourists. Despite its easy walk to the Roman sites or slightly farther to the Spanish Steps, it is on a fairly quiet street. There are plenty of nice restaurants nearby, a few minutes' stroll from the hotel.
The hotel itself is very comfortable, although the rooms are on the smaller side, a not uncommon situation in Rome. We booked the "family suite," thinking it would have some communal area to sit together, but it is really only two rooms, small and smaller, connected by a small entryway with a door to the outer hall. Each of the two rooms has its own interior door and lock so you can choose whether to leave that unlocked for access to children. Because we had an adult child, we would have done better to just book two rooms. It would be useful if you have young children.

A very nice feature is the afternoon spread of delicious cakes, tea, coffee, or cold drinks that we were happy to partake of in the small dining area where one can also have breakfast or enjoy a late night cocktail or glass of wine after a long day. While we were there, one of the managers, Nimal, was frequently available in the dining room or at the desk and was a helpful, friendly host.

We would be very happy to stay here again on our next trip to Rome.

I selected the Nerva hotel after searching several review sites and looking for someone centrally located and smaller boutique style for my 3 night stay as a solo travel first visit to Rome.

Check-in/Staff
Even before arriving their staff helped with suggestions by emails, answering various questions and making bookings for airport transfers and several private tours of Rome. I arrived later afternoon, and was greeted by the happiest person and biggest smile by Charlotte at the front desk. Check in was painless, with explanation of a few things such as breakfast time

Room:
My room was a singles room as I am a solo traveler. It is small but cozy and comfortable single bed. There is a closet with plenty of hangers, a small mini bar, hair dryer and small safe with an actual key rather than a Digital lock. There is a single seat and small table. Bed was comfortable and linens soft.
Bathroom is very small especially for taller people (I’m 6’4). But the shower had enough space. They do have soaps for the bathroom and shower included, as well as large towel.
There is adequate lighting and the ventilation/AC was fine. There was a single window that opened into a small inner courtyard. Instead of a key card you use a key to activate the power for the room and it turns off when you leave.
My only small issues with the room is it has only a single power outlet located in the bathroom which made it harder to charge a laptop while using it, or charge multiple devices. Wi-Fi speed is adequate but not stellar but fine for everyday use. I would have liked to see a bit larger table next to the chair to be able to put a laptop on.
The hotel has an elevator, but my room was only 1 story up with the stairs right by the entrance.

Breakfast/Food
I had the included breakfast each morning and they have a nice selection with table service in their small dining area. It was nice to sit in the morning with the windows open sipping tea and having breakfast. All the selections I had were good, and service was prompt, efficient and very friendly.
They have drinks available in the evening in the lounge area, but no food during the day or at night, just peanuts/chips with the drinks.
The minibar in the room has a few small snacks and beverages, but they are very small size. It was easier to get larger drinks at convenience stores just around the corner.
The staff have a list of recommended restaurants in different areas for lunch or dinner and can help with reservations. I highly recommend getting them to reserve if it’s weekend as most places are very busy.

Location
The location is about as central as you can get in Rome. I was able to walk to all the major attractions, and there were plenty of restaurants and stores within a few blocks. The hotel is on a back side street, but there were plenty of people walking at night so I never felt unsafe even late at night, although I was always wary of pickpockets. The tours arranged by the hotel were excellent, and very informative.

Overall a very enjoyable stay and would definitely stay again if I returned to Rome.

My wife and I have just returned from an absolutely wonderful stay here.

The hotel is a little gem, tucked away in a quiet spot but still close to everything from the Colosseum to lovely bars & cafes as well as the main city centre.

The stay itself was helped no end when we were told that we had been given an upgrade from a superior room to the master suite which was wonderful.

All the staff are very friendly & helpful, especially the cleaner(sorry I never got her name) who seems to turn her hand to anything.

We had breakfast which was always lovely with a great choice of everything you need for a good start to the day, juices, coffee, tea, pastries, eggs, ham & cheese etc.

All I can say is we loved Rome & we loved the Nerva Boutique Hotel. If you get a chance please stay here.

The staff members I met at Nerva are terrific: the managers who work behind the desk are unfailingly polite and helpful, and the cleaner is very friendly and very good. The room (deluxe queen) was exactly as described in other reviews and on the hotel website: a good size, stylish, comfortable. The hotel itself is situated really conveniently (especially for the Scuderie del Quirinale which I was visiting), but it’s very quiet at night, just off the main routes. The double glazing, however, is terrific and I had a very sound sleep every night.

A lovely little gem in Central Rome. The rooms are very clean with the most conformtable beds, you didn't want to wake up. Not to talk about the breakfast which is huge, from fresh squeezed orange juice, salmon, fresh Italian mozzarella and amazing coffee and of course much much more.
The location is unbeatable as you are just 10 minutes walk from the Colosseum and 20 from the Pantheon.
Thank you to Antonio who runs the hotel and his wonderful staff for providing us a memorable stay.
We will back!

We stayed at Nerva after returning to Rome from a Tuscan wedding. The hotel's location is unbeatable - a quiet, romantic street with ancient ruins spanning much of the block. The staff was always very friendly and helpful, the cafe was a great place to start and end a day of sightseeing and the Master Suite was a "room" we'll remember forever. We still talk about this hotel frequently and consider it one of our better trips of all time. We definitely want to get back here the next time we're in Rome.

I stayed in this lovely family run boutique hotel in February and stayed in the delux room. The room had all the amenities needed: confortable bed, seeting, free wifi, beautiful marble shower, complementary water and at our check in we were greeted with a welcome nice bottle of wine as we were celebrating a special occasion.
The staff was professional and always ready to help to all our needs and questions.
We higly reccomend Nerva Boutique Hotel and we will certenly come back again

We had no idea where to stay in Rome, so we referenced Rick Steves guide to Italy and Nerva was one of his recommended hotels. Everyone working at Nerva was so kind and incredible- it really felt like a home-base for us when we were there.

When we walked in, the weather was not great. They let us check-in right away even though we were so early, they gave us umbrellas and printed us a huge list of recommended restaurants and charted them out on a map for us. Their recommendations were unreal and they helped us get a reservation for dinner every night.

The hotel was so clean, in an amazing location and an incredible value. Could not recommend more and if I ever go back to Rome, I will be staying there again. Thank you!

On foot 2 km so a good 20-25 minutes. Pretty straightforward route except a few cobbles and hills on the final approach to the hotel. Taxis stuck in traffic anyway so walking could be worthwhile.
