Excellent hotel in centre of Rome. Service from the minute you walk in the door is second to none. The check in staff continuously entertained my daughter over the stay and made her feel like a princess. Stayed in the Suite Seminario and it is one of the nicest rooms I have ever stayed in. The frescoes on the ceiling make you feel like you are staying in a palace. The location right in front of the Pantheon can’t be beaten and is in the centre of all Roman sites.

What could be more evocative than waking up each morning with a view of the Pantheon? This hotel is an excellent location for all the sites in Rome - you are no more than a 25 minute walk away from all the main attractions as well as being in the heart of a charming part of the city. There are restaurants, beautiful architecture and stunning sites to see literally around every cobbled street corner. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean, classically stylish and with fabulous extra touches such as a daily turn-down service complete with chocolates and a beautiful rooftop terrace. The staff could not have been more friendly, offering advice on ideas to things to see, offering a late check-out and, most importantly, making us feel like welcome guests. We can't wait to come back!

Albergo del Senato is located in the Piazza della Rotunda and is directly adjacent to the Pantheon. You would be hard pressed to find a better or more central location in the historic district of Rome.

Although there are continuous crowds from 8am to midnight in the piazza, our room overlooking the Pantheon was quiet. We especially appreciate the window shutters and the two layers of curtains that made the room dark even on a bright September morning. Great if you are recovering from a long trip from a distant time zone.

Hotel rooms are small in Rome and ours was no exception. But there was plenty of space to store our luggage and put our clothes on hangers in the closet. The hotel has two elevators but only a small two-person lift goes to the roof top bar.

Breakfast was modest with cold cuts, pastries, fruit, scrambled eggs, and bacon that was usually gone by 9am. However, the breakfast staff is helpful and can make you a good pot of American style coffee or a cappuccino.

The roof top bar has a nice view of the Pantheon from on high but was a disappointment: a few tables under awnings, some beers and a few wines, and staffed by a disinterested bar tender. Fortunately, there are better and more lively places open until as late as 2am nearby.

I would highly recommend this beautifully renovated hotel for the superb location and great service.

We stayed at Albergo del Senato at the beginning of February. It was our second stay there and after 2 years we can say it was definitely worth it. Great location in the very heart of Rome, just next to the Pantheon , superb staff is always very friendly and extremely helpful, tasty breakfasts and comfortable, well maintained rooms. This time we stayed in a superior room and got the one with the balcony just over the main entrance!
We are definitely going to stay there again when we are back in Rome.

We booked this hotel for one week as part of their low cost free- upgrade package if there are rooms available. The price was very reasonable. The location was stupendous, just step out the door to go to all of the major sites and incredibly good restaurants around the Piazza Navona. It was HOT in Rome, so it was nice to be able to return in the middle of the day to cool off and rest without walking too far. Yes the area is crowded, but less so due to COVID.
Our room was spotlessly clean, we were upgraded to a larger triple room with a bathtub and a view of the back of the Pantheon from the bathroom. The front desk employees were friendly and welcoming- they checked us it at 11 am. Mini bar prices were reasonable. Maid service excellent. The bar on the roof with a view looking over the city was a nice spot for afternoon drinks. Internet worked well The breakfast was good, with a large selection. Highly recommend and would stay again.

What a wonderful hotel to stay in! The pictures don't lie, the Pantheon really is right outside the door, making it a convenient location for all of central Rome. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and clean, and the rooftop bar offers a quiet space to enjoy views over the city with a glass of prosecco. A good choice of breakfast is available, including a wide variety of cakes and pastries, which were kindly introduced to us by the very friendly Valentina! You really do eat well in Italy! The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and are extremely patient when you try to practice your Italian! In addition to Valentina, we would like to mention in particular Alessandra, Iulia, Luca, Michele, and Carlos. The delightful staff at this hotel really made our experience extra special, the cherry on top of a wonderful holiday.

We were very impressed by their Covid security measures and felt safe the entire time.

We hope to be able to return again soon!

The is the second year I have stayed at the Albergo del Senato for a week. It is still by far the best location for central Rome and, in my opinion, the best hotel. This year I had a room with a balcony on the sixth floor. Waking up with a cup of coffee and stepping out on a balcony with the sites of Rome at your footsteps is one of the pleasures of a visit to Rome not to be missed.

Other attributes of staying here are rarely mentioned. I have mobility problems and use a walking stick to assist. The taxi stand is on the far side of the Pantheon about 150 feet way and always full of taxis. The ATM is on the other side of the square and has secure doors that close when more than two people step up to the two machines. Why don't we have such a simple device here in the states? It prevents a line of people so no one is behind you, ever. The best coffee in Rome is from the Caffè Tazza D'oro, not 25 feet from the hotel entrance. There is a market on the square where you can buy handmade sandwiches just opposite the fountain. Tell me, what else do you need as a visitor?

As always the hotel provides one of the best breakfasts in town. Perfect for all your adventures during the day. And the assistance of the staff is impeccable in all matters whether getting reservations for some concert, event, tour, or getting train tickets.

As others have said, this is a five star hotel masquerading as a three star hotel. It simply does not get any better than this.

My first visit to Rome included a stay at the del Senato upon a high recommendation from my cousin. This was perhaps 17 years ago. My daughter and I absolutely loved the location and the staff during our stay. We had airport pickup and fantastic view from our enormous room.
Fast forward to 2020 and I have the opportunity to go to Rome.
Arriving alone, I know this hotel will send a driver and take care of me. I was so right! The communication via email and WhatsApp was prompt, my driver was so informative, and helped me with my luggage at the airport. Upon arrival to hotel, the front desk was so friendly and informative on area restaurants ( all delicious). My room was amazing: window opened to Pantheon view, just perfect. At nite it was quiet, too! They turn down your bed, close the shutters on window, etc. Large bathroom, nice amenities. I was in heaven after arriving after an overseas flight and be treated so personably. Breakfast buffet was plentiful, got late checkout, too. I will only stay here if I’m so lucky to return to Rome again. I feel safe and secure there.
Also, Julia at front desk was so kind and friendly. Thanks so much.

Stayed in Ancient Rome during Christmas week ...cannot begin to explain how awesome our room view was. We booked the penthouse suite and it sleeps 3 comfortably. Our son had his own room. Also our view 24/7 was of the iconic , legendary structure - THE PANTHEON. The hotel is centrally located in ancient Rome and very walk-able to many boutiques, restaurants etc...

Breakfast is complimentary which is great! You can get the breakfast delivered to your room. The staff is very pleasant and accommodating. Please, if you select this hotel , pay the extra bucks for the penthouse rooms to get that memorable view! High enough not to hear too much noise as well since that is one of the most busiest piazzas in Rome :)

Oh Almost forgot - entry to The Pantheon is free so you can visit day and night , how many times you want to ! which we did since it was right across from the hotel.

Although I am a Marriott/Hyatt member I wanted to stay at a boutique hotel in Rome. This hotel is centrally located and The Pantheon is located right outside the front door.

Most importantly, to me, the staff was warm and hospitable. Each of the front desk staff were incredibly helpful with useful information about the hotel or assisting in providing transportation back to the airport.

The rooms are standard for Europe but are in great condition with nice fixtures.

Breakfast was included with my rate and I was very happy with the selection of food. There’s also a rooftop deck where we brought wine to drink but in warmer weather there is a bar up there as well.

The location is great and is walkable to all major sites. Hundreds of restaurants within walking distance.

Finally, grab a drink on the patio outside which sits right on the steps of The Pantheon.

Hi, what time is the rooftop bar open until in the summer time?
Answer from Lisa W

I was there in the fall so I'm not sure what the summertime hours are. You can go up there any time you want, even when the bar is not open, so if you get up early and want to sit up there you can, but the bar part is only open for certain hours. Its wonderful to go up there and look down on the square any time you want though :)
