…..so let's recap: based on your Tripadvisor feedback, you claim your brief 2-day stay visit was in April (which seems unusual, considering we have a standard minimum stay of 3 nights during peak season). Even so, letting that pass, cross-checking our database and booking records, we only had three couples from the UK to stay in April, and, lo and behold, you were not among them. After your indescribably negative experience, I’m guessing that you must have shut yourself away in meditation to overcome the trauma, because it took you another three months before joining the Tripadvisor community (even though it had already been your go-to platform for travel decisions), promptly submitting your very first review. Another four months slipped by, presumably interspersed with sessions with a psychologist to unsuccessfully overcome the still lingering effects of our unfortunate encounter, before you attempted to confront your perceived "demon" by crafting and spewing forth a scathing review of Armony Suites, focusing the attention of your venomous bile particularly on me. You seem convinced that you are on a mission, whose goal is to save humanity from me and the establishment I've overseen for several years. I can ignore your groundless complaints about our cramped and damp bathrooms (which is not the case at Armony Suites, already spacious, apart from anything the bathrooms had been renovated just before your visit), but I can’t let your personal attacks on me go unchallenged. You claim that I incessantly badger guests for positive Tripadvisor reviews. Strange really, your supposed two-day stay hardly allows for much first hand observation of such behaviour. In any case, if it were true, my persuasive skills appear to be lacking, seeing as I've received a mere 17 reviews so far in 2023, a significant drop on approximately 200 reviews received annually in previous years. You say that “the vast majority of Rome Armony guests do not provide reviews”, which is probably true, recently, precisely because I don't encourage guests to write on this portal (exactly the opposite of what you say) because, in my opinion, Tripadvisor has lost the community spirit that it once had and because it doesn't check if reviews are genuine (as in your case); as for the previous years, 1382 other reviewers vehemently contradict you... I'm particularly perplexed by your remark regarding “Luca to be not up to date in his knowledge of Rome tourist attractions” - I honestly can't understand it. As far as familiarity with tourist attractions, it’s a thing that has consistently been highlighted as one of my strengths, by approximately 1300 other guests (perhaps they are all wrong, or perhaps that’s why you chose to knock that it particular). In any case, I would be very happy if you, thanks to your infinite knowledge of Roman attractions, could generously share your insights, to help me stay informed. I find it equally hard to understand what you meant by “a bit difficult to deal with”. Yet again, this has been one of my supposed strengths in previous reviews, but any further elaboration would be much appreciated. “Do not be taken in by the 5 star Tripadvisor review” from a lying scoundrel like you, that makes me laugh… Summing up, you’ve already wasted enough of my time, I can only hope that they paid you well for this drivel, but I can well immagine that a miserable clown like yourself would have settled for a pittance. You've managed to fill me with a sense of sorrow, but not for the review, for you. If what you have written were true I would respect your words and treasure your advice, as I always have when others have written in with both positive and negative criticism. Instead there’s disappointment in the realisation that there are dishonest kingpins out there who use little men like you to damage the competition, dirty backstabbing behind the scenes, without even waiting for the Ides of March. It’s not so much sorrow that I feel, actually, more pity. Enjoy the rest of your life, pawn, keep it up, you’ll go far.
