I cannot recommend Hotel Damaso highly enough. It is a lovely small hotel ideally located for visiting all the historical and cultural sites of rome, especially on foot. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and well maintained. Our Deluxe Double room with balcony was a special treat offering spectacular views. There is a comfortable lounge where a nice breakfast buffet is served in the morning, and which serves as a quiet and comfortable cocktail lounge in the evening. The hotel also offers a rooftop terrace that boasts spectacular views of Rome, and has a bar in the warmer months. In addition to the many tourist sites nearby, the hotel is close to no end of restaurants, cafes and bars, including many wonderful spots that are more authentic than you will find in the more touristy areas. The hotel staff is friendly and attentive, and offered fantastic recommendations for restaurants in particular. And finally, we highly recommend spending some time with bartender Nico, who is friendly, funny, serves an unending variety of cocktails including several craft cocktails of his own creation. We look forward to staying at Hotel Damaso again in the future.

Hotel's Favourite
We just returned from a 9 night stay in Rome and I have to say, Hotel Damaso was such a pleasant boutique experience. The level of service available to guests is comparable to 5 star hotel stays! Leon working in reception was extremely helpful and welcoming. The room was lovely and rather spacious for European standards, as was the bathroom and vanity area. The bed , comparable to a king size, was very comfy. The housekeeping staff did an incredible job making our room feel refreshed and spotless daily. In addition, we loved the breakfast room. The ladies working the breakfast were so kind and made us cappuccinos with a smile every morning. The variety served was incredible! Fresh fruits, veggies, pastries, delicious bacon and eggs. It was lovely and we appreciated the many options and quality. The location is next to perfect. You are literally within walking distance to all of the main attractions. Finally, I recommend booking directly with the hotel as they offer the best rates and perks that we found. We booked a double comfort room with their relax rate and received, wine, treats, chocolates bottled water in our room. A final tip, take a glass of wine up to the rooftop to enjoy some spectacular views of the city. We were pleasantly surprised and had the entire space to ourselves. We will definitely return!!

Stayed here our first night in Rome and were very sorry to have only stayed one night. It’s a small hotel with an apparent sense of style and warm professionalism that is the perfect combination for a comfortable and friendly stay in Rome. Rooms vary from small to medium size ( all with really great wallpaper!) but are well equipped with everything from comfortable mattresses and crisp cotton bedding, to hairdryers. There is a ground floor lounge for communal breakfasts in the morning or cocktails in the evening and there is a lovely terrace on the roof to take in some terra cotta Rome roof views! Very centrally located for an easy walk to all sites and neighborhoods. Truly a gem!

Fantastic hotel. Staff was very welcoming and kind. Breakfast was always fresh and tasty. They also had plenty of options for lactose intolerant people and celiacs (soy, (oat?), rice, lactose free milk and soy yoghurt). Special thanks to the breakfast ladies for setting a good mood for the day, you warmed our hearts. Also thanks to the receptionists for their help and kind words, and to the cleaning staff for the spotless rooms. The rooms were spacious and elegant, the wifi worked well, the beds were good. The location was also perfect. It was centrally located in Rome and we could access everything on foot. Thank you to the barista for the cucumber cocktail, it was spot on! I would absolutely recommend this hotel, and if we could, we would come back for sure.

Great location for sightseeing the major sites. Great staff, clean room, and nice breakfast. Nice rooftop terrace for relaxing at the end of the day. Not a drawback for me, as I am used to city living, but there was noticeable road noise in our room (2nd level front of building).

We just returned from a lovely 4-night stay in the Hotel Damaso. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was kept very clean and had everything that was needed for a comfortable stay, it also has a lift which is ideal for the higher floors. Brilliant location for access to all the major sites. Lots of restaurants to choose within walking distance. Would recommend and would stay again.

Hotel Damaso exceeded all expectations. Perfectly sited for easy access to all the major sites and so many great restaurants and ice cream shops! Staff couldn't have been more helpful both in the planning stage and during our stay. Room not huge, but then you are in the centre of Rome, but was spotlessly clean and everything there that you need including a very comfortable bed. Only minor gripes were that the pillows possibly need renewing as rather too soft and squishy for me, and we had to request milk for tea as not provided as in UK. Good spread at breakfast with limitless quantities of good coffee served by super efficient staff. All in all a brilliant base for exploring a fantastic city. I very much hope we will go back!

This was the third time we had stayed at Hotel Damaso and hopefully not the last. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast buffet was excellent, and four mornings were not enough to try everything! The complimentary welcome glass of wine was delicious, taken on the rooftop balcony overlooking the city. Very conveniently located for visiting the central attractions. We will happily return.

We had an amazing experience here at Hotel Damaso. The front desk was so friendly and helpful. Our room was great- we had plenty of space and it was very comfortable. The location was great and walking distance to the places we wanted to see like the Vatican and the Colloseum. We would stay here again if we were ever in Rome and I highly recommend it.

I'm so disappointed as I just checked in after waiting for 2 hours, and the room is small and at the back with a horrible view. After reading all the reviews, I thought this hotel was a good choice but not. We stayed at the Hotel Albergo del Senato a few years ago and was so much nicer. Hopefully, we will enjoy our 5 days out of the hotel.
