Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A beautiful home-from-home! Gerald was really welcoming and helpful - both before our arrival and while we were there - with amazing restaurant tips. The location couldn't be better. Room was spotlessly clean and unique in its design. We'll be back.

Property's Favourite Review
This is more of a guest house but offers everything a hotel would and more. We arrived by taxi to find a tiny door in which you ring a door bell to open. We were greeted by a friendly gentleman who showed us around and thoroughly explained everything we needed to know about the property and surrounding areas. The room was stunning and clean. The AC was strong which we welcomed from walking around the hot summer days. They even surprised us with a birthday bottle of champagne and fresh fruit. We absolutely loved staying here during our time in Rome. I could not recommend this place more!

Amazing people - Amazing place! I can't encourage you strongly enough to stay at this hotel and we had part of our luggage stolen - allow me to explain. My 4 kids and I arrived at the hotel - it's bit of a non-traditional hallway entrance. We checked in with Gerald who could not be a nicer - more precessional person. At some point a thief came in and stole my sons backpack which had about $3,000 worth of electronics. We figured this out after realizing the backpack was not delivered to our room with the rest of the luggage. Gerald felt terrible, the owner Carlotta reached out to me expressing her concern, it was a tough situation. However, Gerald met us to go the police station to file a report (we were surprised to find this type of thing happens about 10x a day) and we were assured they would make things right. I was skeptical but hopeful. Bottom line is we returned to the states a couple weeks later, replaced the contents of the backpack, I sent Carlotta a list of the replacement items and cost and my banking info - it came in at about $2,700. A few days later Carlotta's husband had wired us the funds. Unbelievable!!! Even if you do not have a story like ours you will be so happy you stayed at this hotel - it's fantastic - truly! 1st class place and 1st class people. You just do not find this combination easily today. We will be back and hope you give them a try - you won't regret it!

Myself and my partner stayed here at the end of March and I can truly say this has been our best holiday ever! Firstly, the staff are amazing!!!!! On arrival, we were greeted by Gerald. He made us feel exceptionally welcome (like greeting an old friend) and we were gifted with espressos and cakes whilst checking in. He also spent time with us discussing which sights to see and provided us with a detailed map of how to get there and also what else to look out for on the way. He was exceptionally professional, with a friendly, warm manner. The purpose for our trip was to celebrate my birthday and our engagement and when Gerald found this out, he surprised us with a bottle of Prosecco in our room! Whenever we saw him, whether leaving the hotel or just arriving back, he always greeted us asking how we were and also enquired about where we'd been. He was a true Gent and will be very sorely missed. Secondly, the location is fantastic as you are right in the heart of Rome and within walking distance of a lot of the main sights including the Spanish Steps, Trevvi Fountain, Colosseum and the Vatican. This hotel is a real gem and one that we truly miss! I would recommend Crossing Condotti to anyone wanting to visit Rome!

The hotel sounded so exotic. It was difficult to find since there was 1 big brown door that had no markings. No curb appeal. The manager had a nervous laugh that was a bit annoying. There was no lift and no help with luggage. We had to cut our stay short due to a medical emergency at home. We had a nonrefundable booking so they didn’t care. The rooms were nice but kind of dark and uninviting.

Couple of highlights of this hotel for us were the staff and the location (in that order). To start our trip, we were checked in by Tommasso who carried our luggage up the 2 flights of stairs. He was friendly and greeted us like old friends and made us coffees and provided refreshments as the check in process was completed within a few minutes. After that, we spent 10 mins looking over a map as he gave us a whistle stop tour of the must see sights (which you can probably do in 2 full on or 3 slightly more relaxing days). Gerald was the man on duty the following day and he was equally as friendly and anything we required, either was happy to assist! The room itself is clean and spacious with all the amenities you would expect. Whilst there is no breakfast as such, there is a communal kitchen which is stocked with snacks and drinks (complimentary waters, soft drinks and beers!). We didn’t really miss the hotel breakfast as we were out reasonably early each day and grabbed a coffee and croissant from a cafe most days (and generally speaking we were usually stuffed from the previous nights meal). The location is as perfect as can be for tourists. 2 mins away from the Spanish steps and all the other main sights are walkable within 15-30 mins (or you can get to the underground in 5 mins). This is an added benefit during high season as you can try and get to them early before the crowds start to gather. For those that love shopping, you will be in heaven as the main shopping district is on your doorstep and for those who love food, you will be equally impressed with the caliber of restaurants in the area. All in all a great hotel and one you should definitely consider if visiting this incredible city!

My family stayed in the Crossing Condotti apartment and it was the PERFECT place to stay in the heart of Rome. We were all tired and jet lagged when we arrived early in the morning but Alfio was so kind and helpful and allowed us to use a space to get cleaned up before heading out to breakfast. The apartment itself is so perfect for a family. Our teens slept on the futons upstairs and we had the bedroom. They keep the kitchen stocked with cold drinks, which was really appreciated after exploring Rome in the sweltering heat. The air conditioning was also a treat. Besides being very comfortable, the apartment is in a central location. We walked almost everywhere. We only took a taxi to the Vatican and the Colosseum (though we also did a night walk to the Colosseum) and the taxi stand is just around the corner so that was really helpful. Alfio gave us great recommendations and checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Even though the apartment is in the center of the city, it is very quiet. I highly recommend Crossing Condotti. I'm so glad we chose this rather than a big, impersonal hotel.

My husband and I recently stayed at Crossing Condotti and we loved it. We did a last minute change from a big hotel to here and are so happy we did. We felt like we were living in the Spanish Steps. The service was exceptional. Nothing was too difficult for the staff to do. The rooms are fantastic. Each one unique. We will definitely be going back!

We are a family of five and stayed in one of their apartment which is around 5-min walk from the hotel. Location is very convenient, right in a busy street at the centre of Rome and very close to the Spanish Steps. The size of the apartment and the two bathrooms are quite small but well furnished. We have our own kitchen and one of the nice things is they provided snacks and loaded plenty of drinks in the fridge which is perfect during the hot summer in Rome. The check in staff was attentive and met us at the apartment building, he was friendly, helpful and the process was pretty smooth. However, the air conditioner in the living room is super noisy and I need to wear my earplugs in order to have a good sleep.
