This hotel is in a great location, easy to walk to Marina Grande or to the main streets of Sorrento. Reception staff very helpful and assisted with booking airport transfers.
Air con worked in the room. Pool area is small but gets sun all day. We enjoyed having a balcony to sit out in the evening. Breakfast is ok, a lot of sweet options not so many savoury but the staff were great and all covid protocols adhered to.
Our only complaint was that the bed was very uncomfortable - quite hard. There is no iron in the room but they provide a room for ironing just ask for the key at reception.
I would stay in this hotel again if visiting Sorrento.

We did have a budget for our trip to Sorrento so we were limited on hotels but we did research as much as possible and hotel rivage suited our budget and came out as our first choice. We all enjoyed our stay. It’s very clean and we found all the staff to be very friendly and welcoming. Never had any issues with service and found them to be helpful and polite. The rooms were cleaned daily to a high standard and always left very presentable. We had one economy double and one standard double and both were great. Bed was comfy, clean and well presented. No views from our windows but the views from the roof top etc are fantastic. We did spend a few hours on two days at the pool and ate and drank from the hotel menu. It was lovely and nothing was any trouble. The breakfast in the morning was lovely also. We all enjoyed it however it is fairly repetitive so by the end of the week you do feel like you’d like a change. It’s all fresh and readily stocked up though which was good. Location wise we all enjoyed the walk back and forth although I would say you have to be fit to go to Sorrento and stay there due to all the walking you will do. We walked everywhere and it’s such a beautiful place that you don’t mind at all. There’s a restaurant, a small supermarket and a gift shop directly outside the hotel which is handy. Also another shop behind it on the lower street. Piazza Tasso is about a 10/15min walk along a pedestrianised street lined with restaurants and shops and is a lovely walk. Off of that you have loads of side streets with more restaurants and shops. There is endless sights to see nearby and the main ferry port is about a 20/25min walk away from Rivage with steep inclines. We got the ferry to Capri and also to Positano and Amalfi. The train station is about 30/35min walk away. We used the train once to go to Pompeii and cost wise it was very reasonable. Sorrento is a perfect, beautiful place so if you’re going to enjoy it all and the amalfi coast I would overall say Hotel Rivage is a perfect base to do all the sight seeing etc provided you are fit for all the walking. We would stay there again for sure. If I had to give a negative it would just be the noise. You can hear noise from other rooms and one night we did hear some banging which did sound like someone was at our door. It was hard to tell otherwise as it was so loud. However we had an inside door that we could shut but not sure they’re in all the rooms.

This is a modern and clean hotel with good facilities.  There is a small communal pool with adequate sun loungers on both the upper and lower decking, although the sun loungers are somewhat uncomfortable to sit/lay on,  aggravated by the constant nuisance of flies for some reason I cannot explain.  Pool towels provided free of charge.

Our room was comfortable, although there were no in room tea/coffee making facilities, but the poolside cafe was happy to provide on request.

The breakfast room provided a large array of hot and cold food. Their cheese omelette was outstanding.

Being a city central hotel, there is a lot of traffic noise in the area so do not expect a peaceful stay.  The staff I encountered did not go out of their way to be friendly or welcoming and I felt we were just treated as a room number. Not a great customer experience in my opinion.

I would however, recommend this hotel as a good base to stay in Sorrento, as it has good transport links with buses to other areas of the Amalfi Coast, as well as buses and trains to Naples and Pompeii at a very reasonable cost.

I have just spent the last 7 nights sharing a triple room with my two friends. We booked probably 6-7 months ago and got incredible value compared to other 3 star hotels in the area. The location of this hotel is super, at the quieter end of the Main Street, just opposite a collection point for all the bus tours. The room was basic but very comfortable with super air con. This was essential as it was v v warm. The staff were amazing from housekeeping to the fabulous lady who worked every day on her own that we were there on the pool bar/restaurant . She was just so lovely and always with a smile despite being so busy. The two girls serving breakfast were equally friendly and super at their job. The breakfast was more than adequate. Lovely coffee, choice of omelette of fried eggs with bacon, large selection of fresh fruit, yoghurts, breads, cheese ham and sweet cakes and paste. We were provided with pool towels. The rooms were spotless as was the whole hotel. Yes, the pool is small but at least the hotel has a pool. So many in this area do not. It was our saving grace during the very hot days. I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is located nicely just out of the centre but only a 5 minute walk so great location for us as its nice and quiet. Its also facing a very good supermarket so great to buy some bits.
The hotel was very good with COVID measures and all staff were very friendly. The hotel is spotlessly clean and cleaners were always out.
The pool is this hotels asset with a gorgeous view over the Bay of Naples, it was nice and quiet with enough loungers for guests.
The breakfast buffet had so much choice and the staff were very attentive to explain the COVID measures showing where the gloves were to handle the buffet, and advised face masks to be worn.
The rooms were very spacious and the balcony was lovely overlooking the bay.
My only criticism was the quality of the bed, we stayed for 2 nights and my back was hurting by the second night. They seemed very old and could do with replacing with new comfy mattresses.
I will definitely be back though and recommending to stay.

We stayed in hotel Rivage in the end of september & loved everything! The room (located on the 3rd floor) was modern & clean, we loved to sit on the balcony, the bathroom was small, but everything we needed was available! The staff in the hotel was super friendly! As well the guys at the reception as the people in charge of breakfast & the cleaning lady. Also the breakfast was great. Every day we had the choice to order some fresh baked eggs and we enjoyed our daily cappuccino! The sweets (lemon cake & jam-filled croissants) were hard to stay away from!
The hotel is located amazingly, we visited many places around & went to Napoli & Pompeii by train. On relax-days we enjoyed the hotel’s pool. Only by the end of our stay, the pool was much colder to relax in. To summarize: we wouldn’t doubt to choose this hotel again, if ever staying in Sorrento again! Loved it from the 1st until the last day!

Stayed here for a week in August with my 17 year old daughter and it was wonderful. Lovely clean, modern and spacious room, nice bathroom with a great powerful shower. No balcony as we were in an economy room on the lower floor so we had a huge window with shutters that kept the light out in the mornings. The maid made our beds every day, cleaned and mopped the floors and left clean towels for showering and towels for the pool too.
The pool area was clean and there were plenty of sun beds overlooking the beautiful sea. The pool was an infinity pool, it wasn’t huge but big enough for the amount of people staying in the hotel. Breakfast was complimentary and was very good, plenty to choose from and also eggs and bacon to order. The hotel is situated at the end of the busy Main Street so, quiet in the late evening but close enough to walk to the beach and shopping in the town. The staff were fab, very friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We really enjoys our time at Hotel Rivage.

If you have a gluten problem, the hotel will provide you with a gluten free basket of breads and cakes etc at the breakfast bar. You just need to tell them you need gluten free and they will bring you a basket of alternatives to the table. I really appreciated this from them.

The hotel is in a really great location and has parking. Parking was 25€ per day but its better than trying to park outside. the parking is really tight so dont think you can park your hummer in there.

The pool is great, and it was nice to be out for the day in Pompeii, Naples or just touring around and getting into that pool with an Aperol Spritz.

Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone but especially if you want a great gluten free breakfast as well.

I stayed here for a week in October with my Mum and sisters. We loved it! Its location at the western end of Corso Italia was perfect for access to the many restaurants and cafes on the corso and the lanes leading of it. The evening passegiata became a highlight!
The pool is small but after relaxing on one of the many sunbeds on the sun platform next to it, it was perfect to cool down in with serene views of sea and Vesuvius! The restaurant/ breakfast room also has spectacular views of the bay. We only ate here for breakfast which was such a treat - with eggs made to order and an extensive pastry selection! The waiting staff were friendly and attentive- and by day 3 we learned to order our cappuccinos strong! We had drinks here in the evening after dinner and the bar is just as stylish at night!
We stayed in a standard double room which was comfortable and spacious with two single beds and a generous sized bathroom with large powerful shower. We even had a glimpse of the sea from our window!
The helpful reception staff even organised the booking of a boat trip to Positano and Amalfi for us one day, which included collection and drop off from the hotel.
Overall we would thoroughly recommend this hotel as a luxurious and relaxing place to stay!

We stayed at this hotel in 2016 and loved it then, then again Ju ne 2022, good central location 15 min walk from train station. And close to some great restuarants. Our first stay we had a basement stay with no balcony which was fine as we were out all the time. Our second stay we had a 1st floor balcony room which had beautiful views. We are actually returning to Sorrento in July but unfortunately hotel is full. The price includes a breakfast which is varied with fresh cakes and nice coffee. I love the fresh modern decor of the hotel and the friendly staff. Our room with balcony was large with bed in middle of the room. I absolutely love the pool area and views of the hotel. We will return hopefully next year.
