Villa Oriana Relais is a true gem! Thank you Maria and staff for making my family’s stay in Sorrento an amazing and unforgettable experience. From our arrival to our departure, we treated like family and VIPs. Every detail was attended to no matter how small. My daughter and niece have tree nut allergies and the staff made sure to prepare breakfast items that did not contain any nuts for them. When we wanted to enjoy a relaxing day at a private beach, not only did Maria provided the perfect recommendation but she also called the private beach to make sure that we were well attended when we arrived! The breakfasts, which were included, were so delicious and gourmet. The rooms were spacious and ours actually had 2 bathrooms (even though the wifi was spotty due to the location of the room being on the lower floor). The views from the lobby balcony was spectacular. I highly recommend Villa Oriana Relais for anyone wanting to stay in a luxury, private resort!

It's been a long time since I wrote reviews but this wonderful place deserves it 100%. The attention is very warm, it gives the feeling of being with pure “nonas” or loving grandmothers because of the way they serve you, they show you each cake, cake, kitch, etc. each of the delicacies and they are happy to see your face of enjoyment (everything is made with local ingredients and without pesticides). The environment is sublime, silent, only the little birds can be heard. It is immersed in a “forest” of citrus, especially lemons, with a privileged view of the sea. The notes are very spacious and pleasant, everything neat, impeccable and with a country feel. We really enjoyed our balcony, its chairs and ledges so pleasant after our walks along the Amalfi Coast, that we toured it on a tour boat that stopped in Amalfi and Positano for 45 euros per person. It was by far the best hotel we stayed in Italy! The whole experience was wonderful. It was spotless clean, delicious breakfast from the local products including local jams lemons, oranges and mandarins from their own garden. They accomodate all my needs (I am lactose and gluten intolerant). They even cooked lactose and glutenfree apple cake for me which was absolutely delicious 😊 The view of the terrace is spectacular. We normally do not spend time in the hotels but we couldn't leave the view and the beautiful lemon garden they have in their premises. It was not just a stay in a hotel but a great experience as a whole to stay in Villa Oriana Relais!! My husband and I stayed here for ten days for our honeymoon. This hotel is absolutely first class. When I first walked in, the view took my breath away. Every morning you can tuck into a home made breakfast with a view of Vesuvius in the background- fantastic.
Yes, the hotel is up the hill from the city centre , but this means that it is in a really quiet location compared to the very noisy centre of Sorrento. Plus, you might want an opportunity to walk off some of the pasta and pizza you have been enjoying during your trip!
We stayed in the Junior suite which was very spacious and had nice touches like a Dyson hair drier in the bathroom.
The best thing about this hotel though is the staff (Marika, Colomba and Maria were the stand out stars for us). They are so kind and friendly and happy to help with any requests. They were able to arrange pick up transport to and from the airport and help us with restaurant recommendations too.

At the end of a tour of Italy, we chose the Villa Oriana Relais as our accommodation after we were very happy there last year. The accommodation is in a fantastic location, on the outskirts, very quiet, the center of Sorrento is quickly accessible, the service is very personal. We received a very friendly welcome, the service and the breakfast buffet are outstanding. The room is bright and spacious, the bathroom is also very nice. From the moment we arrived we felt spoilt! We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary & had been upgraded to a suite! The room was large & stylish with plenty of storage. The view over the bay from our balcony was breathtaking! Great shower & the Dyson hairdryer was a great touch. Breakfast was amazing, freshly made rolls quiche & cakes, with homemade marmalade, freshly squeezed orange juice, fruit & coffee overlooking the bay & mount Vesuvius. We used the hot tub & roof terrace & had the place to ourselves, the sunbeds & umbrellas were top quality. Colomba even bought us our wine in the hot tub! We have had the most wonderful stay & can’t thank Maria, Colomba, Marika & all her team.. We hope to return in the near future :) X

My family stayed here in 2003 and I decided to come back this year with my husband. I remembered Maria so fondly and it was wonderful to be back and see her again. We were welcomed with fresh sparkling lemonade and cake and they had a bottle of champagne waiting for us in the room as we were on our honeymoon! The breakfast spread is unlike anything else, always made with so much care and love. Maria works so hard to make sure everyone is having a nice time. Her team is very kind and helpful as well. The jacuzzi is a great addition to the rooftop! We spent lots of time up there at sunset. The Dyson hairdryer in the bathroom was a nice surprise! We will be back to see Maria and her family again!

I’m going to be very honest. The steps were challenging. I could do it without stopping but was very out of breath when I finally got to the top. Bring a flashlight because there are no lights on the path. I just turned 50 and am in ok shape. You can always not take the short cut or take a cab back, though the cabs are pretty costly. It is such a great place though, so the steps would definitely not keep me from choosing it again when I go back to Sorrento. There is either a pool and/or a hot tub on the top deck, but we did not go see it because it was closed for the season. It was very cold when we were there.

Hi there are no real beeches but there are places to swim. Several places all in walking distance. We walk to the swimming. The villa has an arrangement with the hotel almost next door where you can swim. To be honest swimming in the sea is so amazing you will not bother with the pool!

Yes, it is very easy to visit Naples, Pompei, Capri and the Amalfi Cost from Sorrento. Villa Oriana Relais is located on the hill of the downtown, so only 20 minutes walking distance from Piazza Tasso, the main square in Sorrento and 30 minutes walking from the harbour where you have ferries to reach Capri. The nearest bus stop is 5 minutes far, and the nearest train station (Sant'Agnello) is 10 minutes walking distance, from this station you have trains running every 20 minutes to Pompeii, Herculaneum and Naples.
