We stayed here for 5 nights and had 3 rooms. We found the place to be very good value. The rooms were large and clean. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The place is just off a busy road but The rooms we stayed in were quiet.

Stayed 1 night en route to somewhere else. Treated to a loud and obscene domestic row for 1.5hrs early morning. Although owner on site nothing was done. The prices here offer this sort of risk. The room was tired but clean and not as large as others I have stayed in. Not much else to say really, just tired from lack of sleep due to row.

NOT WORTH THE PRICE OF MY INTERNATIONAL PHONE CALL! Though I didn't stay here, I called to enquire about accommodation in this area. A young girl 'Jessica' answered the phone, the first call I was hung up on. The second call she was rude, arrogant, extremely inhospitable and suggested I call somewhere else when I asked to talk to someone else more helpful. Furthermore, when I asked the name of the manager she replied 'the manager is my mum and she's not here!'
Dear management/owners, if this is the kind of service you receive over the phone I can only imagine the type of inhospitable, hostile service you provide at your establishment. I've worked in the tourism and travel industry for 20 years, have never been spoken to in this manner before. You need to look at your staff, in particular 'Jessica', and teach basic manners if you are to succeed in this industry.

Do not recommend staying here. The water temperature in the shower was running freezing cold then boiling hot on the same setting. There were no curtains in our room when we arrived in our room. The telephone wasn't working on the first night. Poor internet connection. Manager insinuated that we were likely to smoke in the room and to keep the room tidy as if were likely to wreck the room because we are Maori. All this for $120 per night. Worst place I've stayed.

I stayed in avondale motor inn last week and I absolutely loved staying there. The costumer service was amazing the peers were good nice and very kind and caring. The rooms were very clean, neat and tidy. Would love to visit avondale motor inn next time I come New Zealand.

While the hosts are very nice people the Motor inn is not. The Motor Inn advertises they have day rooms, and there were certainly some interesting people using them. We ensured our door was locked all times when were at the motor inn and were pleased our children were not there to witness the "interesting People". It was sort of clean except for the kitchen items. These items all had to be cleaned before use and the items were very limited. After one night we made sure that we ate out every night. We would not risk using the pool. They also need to ensure that the garden of the motor inn is tidy as well, a certain used male item was rather off putting. Also thought cost was expensive for what you get. We stayed else where in Auckland on the same break for $20 cheaper at a 4 star hotel including breakfast. We won't be staying there again.

Where do I even start on this one... upon arrival of Avondale Motor Inn, the swimming pool that is highly marketed as a selling point was dry as a bone.
We booked this place for 2 adults and 3 children, but were given only 4 towels. When we asked for another towel, the owner tried to argue that we only paid for 4 people. We showed him the booking confirmation but then he tried to argue that one of the children were actually free. So if they are free they don't get a bath towel?!!!
We also asked for a sink plug to do our dishes, and were told there was already a plug located in the unit.CORRECT! There was but the one and only plug in the unit did not fit the bath, bathroom sink OR the kitchen sink. Also as with other review's I've read, the manager walked to our room multiple times after our arrival but asked us to only contact him by phone.
I can safely say that we will never stay at this place again

Booked in to stay at this motel with a group of friends. On arrival at reception we were informed by the man at front of desk that we had changed our booking to the previous night and as we didnt show we would be charged for that night too. We disputed this as we had not changed our booking. We had no communication stating our nights had been changed and had email evidence of the booking. The manager refused to contact the booking company and said this is a you problem, not a me problem. Given his rude behaviour and lack of willingness to communicate to resolve this issue we decided not to stay at all. We exited the building to contact the booking company directly, as we did this he swiftly went and charged our credit card. Fraudulent business and dare I say some likely fraudulent reviews. Do not stay here
