I had stayed here before so I was looking forward to a return visit. Room was fine, everything you need, and a decent size balcony overlooking the pool.
There was differences though from my last visit. The lounge bar, coffee shop and restaurant are all now closed. Pity, because the cocktail bar was a nice place to sit for an evening drink. I also thought a 4 star hotel had to have a restaurant. When I asked about the bar being shut I was told "the one by the pool is open" The pool bar isn't very good and shuts at 8pm. They have a sign saying that the pool will be closed from September till June. As we like to visit in late summer I asked exactly when the pool would shut. Nobody knew.
I then asked if the pool was shut, then the pool bar would be shut, so they wouldn't have a bar.
Reception almost seemed annoyed at me asking and said (in what I thought was quite a cheeky manner) "there is plenty of bars and restaurants you can go to!"

Although I liked the hotel that will be my last visit, in future I will go to a hotel that actually can be bothered keeping facilities open for guests. Pity.

We booked 2 nights as we were going to a music festival the first night and wanted a relaxing day and evening the next night. The room we have is facing the street and the traffic is very noisy. The walls are paper thin. The guests next door were showering this morning and it sounded like they were in our room. The beds and pillows are hard, feel like I’ve slept on a park bench with a brick for a pillow. Our a/c wasn’t working. The control box is hanging off the wall. We reported it and came back from a walkabout to a cool room. Silly us, we tried for 20 degrees, it’s now set at 10 degrees but the maintenance guy hadn’t secured the control to the wall. Pool area is nice. Had a rustic sandwich. Location is good. Reception staff friendly. We only live half an hour away, for what we paid it’s ok. Would I stay here again? Maybe, but I’d bring my own pillows. It could do with an update but it is very clean.

A wonderful welcome as soon as we walked into the spacious reception. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful, a special mention to Nieve, so good at her job.
Our room on the 4th floor was very large, our bed was huge and very comfortable, we had a balcony over the swimming pool, very quiet at night. The bathroom was in the room, this was ok for us as a couple but I’m not sure I would have liked it if I was staying here with a friend, the shower head didn’t work very well but in fairness I didn’t complain about it and I feel sure if I had it would have been fixed.
The pool was inviting and very clean, there was a bar for snacks, drinks and ice cream. The sunbeds and terraces need updating but it didn’t spoil our enjoyment.
We only live a few kilometres from the hotel and we enjoy the bars and restaurants of Torrevieja so we would definitely come here again. It’s in a perfect location.

We checked in for two nights stay 2 adults for the cost of 342.00 euros

We have never been into such a disgusting place in all my life. We booked the Junior Suite. Walking in the automatic doors at the entrance the glass was broken and taped up. After checking in and going to our room on the 7th floor we found the following: the kitchen cupboards are falling apart, the clothes cupboard is all rotted with damp, the chair is falling to pieces, a sheet on the couch to cover it up and to our utter disgust the bedrooms on both sides of us where open and derelict. The mattress was filthy dirty and there was no way whatsoever that we would sleep here it made me feel physically sick.

We checked straight out and demanded our money back. The receptionist tried to offer us another room on the same 7th floor to which we said no… she then tried to offer another room on the 5th floor. I did not wish another room and asked for refund.

If the two rooms that where offered had been any better then why was we given such a disgusting room in the first place. We will never return. This hotel is not worth 342.00 euro for 2 nights.

Booked for 3 nights but only stayed one night. No sound proofing between rooms and all hard surfaces so sound reverberates. We were woken at 5:30am by other guests having what sounded like a party. Tried to call reception but the phone didn’t work. The bathrooms are a bit weird as it is just in the corner of the room so anyone using the toiket in the middle of the night wakes up anyone else in the room when they turn the light on. Our shower didn’t drain and flooded right into the bedroom area. Really bad design. Hotel has a car park but charges €15/night to park. Streets surrounding hotel had no spaces so forced to pay to park at hotel. Staff were good enough to let us check out early. Central location but be prepared to be disturbed by other guests.

We chose this hotel because of the central location and the swimming pool. When we arrived the last week of April, it had been +26C the whole week and we were eager to jump into the pool.
However, we were informed that the pool will not be open until June, despite the hot weather. Unbelievable that they won’t open the pool earlier even with a weather like this. Not even in May.
And on top of it all, the reason why the pool is closed is that it is dirty, but it could be easily cleaned with just 1 day of cleaning, when a heatwave like this arrives. But they just didn’t bother to do it, even though it would’ve been so easily done. A huge disappointment.
There was no mention of the pool being closed on booking.com when we made the booking. If there had been, we wouldn’t have chosen this hotel in the first place.
In addition, we were constantly eaten by insects while staying at this hotel, because the air conditioning was nonexistant, which of course would’ve helped to keep the insects out, if functional.
The room itself was nice, the location was good and the staff were ok.

3 of us stayed here for 7 nights in July as we had traveled to Torrevieja for a family wedding. We had an amazing time. I honestly wasn’t impressed with the photos of the hotel on its website and I thought it was an average choice but the best of a bad bunch as we needed a room for 3. How wrong I was. Hotel was bright, quiet and spotless. Pool area was big, poolside and indoor bar both reasonably priced and staff were lovely. Our room was big and absolutely fine for what we had paid. I would definitely recommend staying here. Location fantastic and the area seemed very safe as I had 2 16 year olds with me. Make sure you have a drink with Jamie in the indoor bar. Absolutely great man.
Thank you Fontana Plaza. We will return. Great holiday.

I took my own advice from my review last year. Got a pool facing room which was much quieter. Nice big clean room with a massive bed. Took our own pillows.
Friendly reception staff.
The bathroom area was very modern, but the shower had a button missing so we had to shower with the hand held hose as we couldn’t turn it to the overhead shower.
Reported it but the young lady on reception knew, oh if you have short nails you can get it to work by poking your finger in the hole. Really? Why not just fix it?
Location is ideal for bars, restaurants and the promenade.

Overall terrible experience in this hotel. My main issue with it are that the walls between rooms are very thin and there is next to no sound proof. We could hear entire conversations word for word in other rooms around us which made for a noisy and frustrating experience, especially when trying to sleep. Also the plugs for charging phones were very hit and miss and sometimes out charging adapters wouldn’t even enter the socket. For some reason there is no wall between the beds and the toilet area which makes for little privacy. The breakfast was overall poor which little selections to choose from. On a positive note the staff were very friendly

Town centre hotel but good location for promenade bars and restaurants. Room basic but clean. Pleasantly Surprised at complimentary robes and slippers. Our room faced the small road with very distant side view to sea front (superior room) Staff were helpful and polite. Breakfast not great or much choice, but enough. Would stay again for location in Torrevieja.

Where can you park locally if the hotel car park is not available?

We were at this Hotel last summer. We ordered a room and parking. The Parking is under the Hotel with a lift to all rooms. The garage is locked and guarded. We kept our car, a big Toyota Land Cruiser Limousine, without any problem. Parking on the street is hard, nearly impossible. One of the housekeepers told us, parking on the street, hard to find, would be welcoming thief's stealing all out of the car among the radio. The hotel charged us only 12- Euros a day. But our car was in good hands all the time.
