We stayed for 7 nights to look around the La Zenia/Torrevieja area with a view to buying a house and the Torrejoven was one of the few hotels open in November.

Although fairly basic at first sight the charms of the hotel grew on us as the week went on. The staff are really friendly and helpful and always greeted us with a smile.

Firstly comfortable double bed and pillows meant we had a great night's sleep as the hotel is in a fairly quite area as well. Also a good small fridge in room for water/wine/beer. Good bathroom with hand soap and shower gel provided, not always seen in higher quality hotels. The towels were fantastic, better than in 5-star hotels. The wi-fi was fine for us for browsing. Only real downside was lack of power sockets in the room, only one by the bed. Also the cleaner did a great job every day.

Breakfast was also a pleasant surprise. Quite good continental (cereal, yogurt, meat, cheese, bread, fruit, cake and fresh fruit juice) and some of the best coffee we've had in a hotel. When the hotel is not busy eggs, bacon and sausage are freshly cooked to order.

Close to bars and restaurants both sides of the main road and on the beach so there is always somewhere to have a drink or a meal.

The Torrejoven is a great base to explore the area. We met some golfers who were here for 5 nights who said they stay here once a month in the winter because it's close to several courses in the area.

We would certainly stay again.

We stayed 2 nights to visit the bars and restaurants in the area, we live in Spain 30 minutes away. The hotel is tired and needs a full makeover, but for what we needed, it served its purpose. Check in was easy and staff were really nice, ordering us a taxi.
The pool area is down wooden steps and the paint was peeling in the pool. Lots of traffic noise as you’re literally right by the roundabout on N332.
We had a partial sea view, only booked a standard room so no balcony. Again, close to the busy N332 so you could hear traffic noise, but as we’d visited the bars, we didn’t really hear it.
WiFi was ok, bathroom clean, breakfast, plentiful but the hot food was cold. Milk for cereal was warm…..
Good location for restaurants etc. parking was free across the road.

Stayed here 1 night as this was cheaper than taxis to/from home for a birthday dinner party. Room was adequate and clean but furnishings are old and need upgrading. Acceptable for 1 night but I would not advise a longer stay. In need of a major overhaul. Good choice of bars/restaurants within walking distance. On street parking available in the area.

this is simply the worst place I have ever stayed. I am well travelled and have stayed at many hotels, this is simply the worst ever. Paid for half board, but the restaurant was closed in the evening, the pool was locked, unused and full of rubbish and the hotel was still back in the 50's. very misleading adds and reviews about this place, avoid at all cost.

If you're looking for a relatively cheap base in the area this may be fine, but I've certainly stayed in better. Soundproofing in the rooms is not good - snoring partners are bad enough without the snoring being in the room next door (or possibly down the corridor)! There is a sign in the lift asking clients to be silent after 10pm with good reason. It's not in a particularly good location, although there's a beach with pleasant terraced restaurant at the bottom of the road, and bars and restaurants just round the corner. Not really close to Torrevieja - not easy walking distance anyway. The room was Ok - clean at least but a bit gloomy and the glass partition on the balcony was cracked. Shower worked but took a while to warm up and the towels were thin and too small (but I do like a big towel!) Breakfast was nothing special and I didn't eat in the restaurant. There is internet but I don't know how efficient, the disco was shut and there was parking on nearby roads saving the 10 euro cost of the car park. I only stayed for a couple of days and spent very little time in the hotel but if I'd booked in for a week's holiday I'd be very disappointed.

We have just spent 3 nights here whilst looking for a property for ourselves. The hotel looks a little drab from outside as it is painted grey. The bathrooms are extremely clean with plenty of toiletries available, the rooms are are a bit dated but well looked after. Breakfast was part of our rate, there was a broad selection of hot and cold food available with plenty of drinks on offer. The staff are very friendly though we didn't see many of them as the hotel was quiet. The hotel is 10 minutes walk from the sea and one of the promenade walks. A small selection of bars and restaurants are about 3 minutes walk away. Overall we had a lovely stay and were lucky with our room, as it was 5th floor with a great view.

I have stayed in this hotel several times on my own and then the last time with my husband. The location is perfect, near loads of shops, bus route and only a short walk to the beach and the sea. The hotel is clean, modest and comfortable. TV and refrigerator in the rooms. The fifth floor is peaceful and lovely views, back or front. Some windows need checking for marks and damage, and we could have talked to management about that, but didn´t...it seemed superficial. We loved it and will be staying again.
Carmen in the restaurant was absolutely amazing, as has been said before, but sadly she is no longer there, hopefully going back though. Food is good and reasonably priced.
Loooking forward to our next visit.

I was surprised by the negative feedback but we decided to go ahead as we've been there before and liked the location. The staff was very helpful and friendly but the star of the show is definitely Carmen, the waitress. She was very friendly, attentive and tried to speak to all the customers she served in spite of her lack of English. We were on half board and had our meals at a smaller restaurant next to the bar because there were not enough guests for the big restaurant. We had a breakfast buffet there and could order a full English breakfast. For dinner we chose our meals from the menu. There was always plenty of food and generally it was very nice. Only on one occasion my husband's lasagne was cold but quickly heated after he complained. The room was clean but not exactly soundproof and on a couple of nights somebody was snoring in the next room. There was a fridge and television in the room with a few English channels and a free WiFi in the lobby. Our room had a little balcony overlooking a quiet street and on arrival we found a bowl of fruit with delicious oranges and apples on the table. There are plenty of cafés near by and a couple of supermarkets across the main road. You can walk to the nearest Punta Prima beach, it takes only 5 minutes and from there there is a nice walk to bigger beaches of Playa Flamenca and La Zenia.

I stayed there in winter, and it was freezing cold in the room, the windows are very bad. You hear all the noise from the traffic, the hotel is on the main road. The room and the hotel is unattractive. At the breakfast the milk for the coffee had turned sour and the quality of the food was altogether bad. I would not go there anymore. You can find better value in the area for the same price.

I've just finished a two week stay here and I have throughly enjoyed myself. The rooms are kept very clean and tidy even if a little outdated. The staff are amazing, warm, friendly and very helpful and welcoming. Yes the road is close so you do get a little noise but at least its not from loud music and shouting and drunks etc. It is located in a reasonable area with lots of good shops and restaurants near by. Theres some incredible walks either way along the sea front and the main town is only an hours walk away or 15 mins on a regular bus. All in all I am very happy. I obviously didn't expect much for what I paid but got every bit of what I did pay for and more. The food to has been good considering and one morning I was late they cooked me boiled eggs especially as I was late. I felt safe and comfortable throughout my whole stay and if anything it has only been the rain, thunderstorms and hail that have let it down. Honestly though what can you do about that as it hadn't rained for over 4 months in this region anyway. If you don't believe me then just give it a try, you to might be pleasantly surprised. I will say one other thing though and it does funnily enough feel a bit like a travel lodge or holiday Inn. Enjoy. 😊
