The hotel met all our needs. We arrived for a 7 night half board stay at lunchtime. Check in was easy, €10 euro refundable safety deposit box, we made our way to room 1114. It faced mainly towards the city but we could see the sea. 2 double beds, tea/coffee satchets, some water in the fridge and a big shower were on offer. Limited packet toiletries by the sink were provided (toothbrush, shower cap, mini soap and shower gel in the shower) but I did hear a convo at reception that other things were available there (unsure if you needed to pay or free). It didn’t bother us, we had our own supply.

Half board
Tea, coffee, juices are included for breakfast and even some cava bottles to make up a Buck’s Fizz. Breakfast was plentiful fruit, continental, cooked, pastries, cereal. I had an omelette most mornings as it was piping hot. I do agree, hot food was generally warm but I find this in most hotels with a buffet type style.
You can swap between having a lunch or dinner on half board. At these meals you do need to pay for any drink as you leave or charge it to the room.

Entertainment
We are not ones for entertainment as we generally went out after our meals but from what we saw, It was watchable and singers good.

Facilities
Outdoor pool- nice size but we are off peak season, I could imagine the outside space being quite crowded during the summer. Indoor pool €7 to use. There seems a lot to cater for smaller children. There is also a ground floor games room.

Location
Unless your transfer is a private cab , the shuttle bus dropped us down the road outside the Poseidon palace. The hotel sits back behind the RH Royal. We found the hotel location a central location between the strip and old town and 10 minutes to the beach

Staff
We found staff in all areas (bar, cleaning, restaurant and bar) to be attentive and very helpful. Thank you

This is my honest review, based on our personal needs and wants for an out of season break.

Would I book again? YES I would, thank you RH Princesa

This hotel was offered to us due to the hotel we chose being refurbished and facilities not available. I’m glad this hotel was offered, there’s mixed reviews about walking distance from drop off point to hotel, there is a slight incline however is manageable and this is with people in my party with breathing / walking issues.
First impressions were really good, outside was well maintained and the entrance to the hotel is impressive, staff very friendly and happy to help. We arrived before midday day and had access to the rooms which was bit unexpected but very welcomed. Our Room was on the 8th floor, great size room and bathroom, with great views. Our room was cleaned by housekeeping every day even Xmas day which wasn’t expected. We had Half Board and you could choose to have lunch or dinner, we felt best to stick with Breakfast and Evening meal. Great selection of food, I’m not a fan of buffet food, however the selection and choice changed my mind on this.
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day choice was excellent and complimentary drinks were also appreciated on these evenings.
There is a choice to upgrade to silver or gold inclusive, we chose not to as we were with other people. I would look at this if there was only me and hubby, definitely worth it for premium drinks.
Outdoor pool was open however not heated, was a bit too cold to enter on this occasion, we did try. The slides were closed which wasn’t an issue as we already knew this, there was a games area in the hotel which had table tennis etc in, we didn’t use it. The spa was recommended it is an additional cost at 7 Euros for 2 hrs which gave access to heated indoor pool, jacuzzi etc, we didn’t use on this occasion. Kids are allowed in however times are restricted.
Bar in the hotel is reasonably priced and has a great selection of drinks on offer. There was entertainment on each night also.
All staff were friendly and attentive ,I would definitely recommend.
Only reason for not giving 5 stars was room and bathroom was a bit tired looking and could do with a bit of a freshen up.
Great location for the old town, Will definitely return again.

We stayed at RH Princesa at the beginning of June for 8 nights. We are a family of 4, children aged 5 & 2.

I will start with the bad (there are few). The room is a little cramped. You need to walk about 200 meters from drop off to get to the hotel unless you have private transfers due to the street size. That’s it!

Everything else we could not have faulted.

The staff are all amazing and really make you feel welcome. Right up from the reception staff, to servers and cleaners, everyone is very friendly and helpful. I especially felt the children’s entertainment staff were excellent with the children.

The hotel is exceptionally clean and tidy.

The food is lovely and varied. It will get samey if you eat the same stuff so recommend you try mixing it up each meal. The food truck is also very nice, though you do pay extra for some premiums eg nuggets and onion rings, though it’s not much.

We were all inclusive gold (we upgraded from half board when we arrived) and the selection was great including bottled corona and premium spirits. Again as above, there are some additional drinks you can request that you pay extra for eg kopparberg, Jameson but most of the selection is included.

Entertainment is great for a family hotel. Mini disco every night for the children and kids club opens after at 9pm until 11.30. Kids are still free to watch the entertainment and dance or run around depending on what’s on.

It wasn’t overly busy at this time of year so we always were able to get a bed. It did however start to get much busier as we were leaving which I would expect as you approach July.

Proximity to the beach and old town is great with loads of shops and additional restaurants near by.

Multiple pool areas so plenty to do for the children. The splash area is great for younger children too. Can be a little cold but is fine when you’re in!

Towels - you can rent hotel towels for 5 euro and change them as you please as much as you want then get your money back on return. Dont waste luggage space bringing your own!

Overall we had a great stay and will definitely be back especially while the kids are still young. Maybe not as much to do for older children but that depends on them really.

Thanks for a great stay!

This was mine and my sons second stay at the Princesa, we decided to come back because of how perfect are stay was the year before, something i never do, it was just as good if not better, all the staff from Juan on reception, thank you Juan! and his team on reception, to all of the amazing bar staff, and Luca and all the entertainment team, the wonderful cleaners, especially Caroline, who cleaned are room every day, fresh towels, toiletries, toilet rolls ect, and all the lovely spa pool ladies, and all the restaurant staff where all always so lovely and always 5 star service.. really nothing to fault, the hotel is spotlessly clean and in a perfect location, just a lovely stroll to the beach and prom, not that you want to leave, the food was always plenty full, and so much choice , amazing breakfast with everything from fresh fruit, cold meats, cereal , full English, even cava or bucks fizz..we where all inclusive, which i do recommend, we also paid on arrival for use of the steam room and Olympic size indoor pool, it only cost a extra 35 euros for the 2 of us in total, the main indoor pool with a heated Jacuzzi is free.. because its like a hotel that you dont really want to venture out, you feel so at home there. we did however venture out to go in the open ferry to the Benidorm rock, only 19 euros return and you can get off and have a beer, wine, coffee ect on the lovely little cafe on the rock with breathtaking views, highly recommend it, another venture out was to visit the Mirador balcony, with stunning views and so peaceful , both days out are both within easy walking distance, a lovely 10 minute walk thru the old town so you get to see a bit of traditional Spain also. We love the RH princesa hotel and all the staff so much i can see myself booking again, why not, it offers everything, my son is special needs and everyone was so lovely to him, from start to finish.

Check in was smooth and efficient and we were greeted by friendly staff who let us store our cases until our room was ready.

There’s two levels to the all inclusive, Silver & Gold. We booked with Jet2 and we’re on gold whereas other families I met booked with TUI and were on Silver - which meant they had to pay for various drinks such as cocktails/premium brand spirits etc. if you’re Gold all inclusive everything is included minus some things I’ll get to next. (I’ve attached a photo of the menu differences between Silver & Gold all inclusive)

One other thing about all inclusive is that you’re given wristbands to identify your board but then you have to present your room card every time you get a drink or snack. This was quite strange to me as every other all inclusive I’ve experienced the wristband was sufficient.

Menu items such as chicken nuggets you had to pay extra for at the snack bar regardless of your all inclusive status which is crazy when you can have as many drinks as possible but not processed nuggets? It doesn’t make sense and perhaps it’s something the hotel should look into as many others were disappointed by this especially as kids LOVE nuggets - an extra money maker perhaps?

There were other little niggles like the photographer following people around trying to make money but this I understand.

The buffet was quite good each night and we never struggled to find things to eat. One night they even did sushi which was really good and plentiful.

Every member of staff was extremely helpful and kind especially the animation team who look after all the entertainment and the kids play park which is a nice addition to have to tire the kids out at the end of the day!!

The rooms were amazing, new bathrooms and the beds are excellent, surprisingly comfortable and cleaned everyday if you leave the notice on your door that you want it cleaned. The balcony was good with decent views regardless of which side of the building you’re on.

The kids pools were good although the shallow splash park pool had quite a rough texture to the surface which my two boys constantly scratched themselves on but I understand it’s there to be non slip to avoid accidents. I advise maybe getting some grip texture socks just so little ones don’t keep scratching their feet when jumping in etc.

Overall we had a lovely time at the RH Princessa and it set the bar high for staying in Benidorm. Lots of local amenities nearby including shops that sell British items - some shops cheaper than others.

Thank you RH Princessa!

Dear Steve, Thank you for sharing your detailed review of your family vacation at RH Princesa! We're delighted to hear that you had a lovely time and that our staff made a positive impression on you. We appreciate your comments about the smooth check-in process and the friendly staff. It's wonderful to know that our animation team and the kids' play park added to your enjoyment. Regarding the all-inclusive options, we'd like to clarify any confusion. Not all Jet2 Holidays bookings include the gold all-inclusive package. We have specific allocations with each travel agency, including TUI and Jet2. Once the allocation is full, the booking may come with a different contract, which is why some guests receive the gold all-inclusive package while others receive the silver. We understand your concern about needing to present your room card along with the wristband for drinks and snacks. We'll review this policy to see if improvements can be made for a smoother experience. It's great to hear that you enjoyed the buffet, especially the sushi night, and that our staff, particularly the animation team, were helpful and kind. We’re glad the rooms met your expectations and that you found them comfortable and clean. Regarding the kids' pools, we appreciate your feedback about the splash park pool surface. Safety is our priority, but we will look into ways to make it more comfortable for children. Thank you for choosing RH Princesa, and we hope to welcome you back for another fantastic stay in Benidorm. Best regards, Meriem Zidani Assistant Manager

We have stayed here many times previously and chose to return for my husband's birthday holiday. We were going to book half board but as there was an offer for full board at the same cost we booked that but chose not to upgrade to all inclusive as we wanted to go out most nights. We missed some lunches when we were on full days out but when we were in the vicinity we had a quick lunch which was a useful saving of our funds.
The hotel is in a great location as it is close to the old town area and only around 20-30 mins walk to the main entertainment bars in the new town area. The location is also handy for walking to the main tram station and the main bus terminal which are located around 15-20mins walk uphill at the back of the old town. Walking to either Poniente or Levante beach areas takes around 10-15mins.
We found many of the things we like about this hotel have stayed consistent such as the superb cleanliness, the helpful reception staff, the excellent staff in restaurant and bar and the tasty hot food.
We had a lovely room with comfortable beds and on hubby's birthday a bottle of Cava was very kindly delivered to the room.
We only watched the entertainment in the hotel 1 night out of 11 as there was nothing on we wanted to see. We stayed in the hotel when "Timeless" duo were on and they were great. We saw a couple of minutes of some of the other acts but they didn't make us want to stay and there was a late kids disco at 9pm then quite often just karaoke.
The hotel policy has always been no large same sex groups but there was a large female birthday group and there was a very large sports team with loads of unruly kids while we were there. We did notice there were a lot more children than in previous years at this time considering the schools had only just gone back after Christmas holidays.
We were disappointed that the bowling rink outside has been cut by a third and is in poor condition, so it looks like that may go completely in future. We did play a few afternoons, but had the added challenge of getting parents to control their kids to not run across us and pick up or even try to throw the bowls! Some of the parents were much more interested in their phones than playing with/supervising their kids at the mini golf or on trampolines which are next to the bowling area.
We did have an excellent holiday while we stayed here as the location allowed us to easily get out and about and we enjoyed the meals but I think we will probably choose the RH Royal nearby, which we went to look at during our holiday, for our next stay as we prefer less children.

This hotel is fabulous if you are a family with
children under the age of 9. ,staf helpful and friendly, our room was fine but 2 double beds in 1 room which i didnt realise on booking , with 2 teenage girls, u can imagine 😅 the girls
age 13 and 16. All they like to do is play with
their volleyball, both advanced, eldest plays
for England. They were passing the ball in
the pool and actually had 2 small children
join them, and were told they can't play with
it in the pool!. They also had a small float, in
small I mean 90cm by 20cm and were told as
they can swim, they can't have that either
u cant have a lilo 🤷‍♀️they then played in the
evening with the ball in the kids play area,
only passing back and forth, no hitting/
smashing ect and again told they can't. So it's
spoilt their holiday, the sand is too hot to play
on at the volleyball court at the beach during
the day so they basically sat in the room most
days bored. We went all inclusive. Food was
fairly good actually, was a couple of evening
meals that I wasn't jumping for joy over but
was mostly quite decent!. I hate to moan but
it's small things that make a good holiday, you
are given a band on arrival but have to use
your key card to get anything, so u can't just
grab something on the way back from the
pool to the sunbed, u have to go get the key
card, same at lunch and dinner, u show the
key on entry to restaurant and then have to
get it out again everytime u order a drink.
We were speaking to a couple on half board and they said they had to pay for water at their evening meal 🤦‍♀️ TOWELS and POOL
area could get a bed most days and we didn't
rush out, but u can't actually even sit out on a
Bed till 10am. Ridiculous, really, if ur an early
riser and want to get out at 8 or 9, u have to
wait in the bar area . I get they don't want people saving beds at 6am but 10 is a little much. The location is great
1O mins walk to old town and new town, less
to the beach, but ur chasing the sun about
around the pool. . Also we like to use the gym most days , every holiday we've ever been on where there has been a gym available, the gym is free to use. But at this hotel £7 per day as its part of the spa( indoor pool, sauna, gym 🤦‍♀️)Certainly come to this hotel
if u have small kids and arnt bothered about the gym, but we won't be back unfortunately.

Overdue review!
This hotel is fantastic. From reception staff, to waiting staff and cleanliness of rooms - it’s fab.
The food is the best AI meals we have had outwith 5 star. Choice and quality is amazing!
Slight mix up re gluten free beer with my husband who is coeliac but this was promptly rectified.
Rush for sunbeds at 9am but in my opinion better than being up at 6am for beds. Very fair too if people aren’t on them then lifeguard removes towels.
Great location, pool towels provided for deposit. 14 of us travelled together and loved it.
Booked already for next July!
Great work Princes!

On arrival, staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was nice, we were on floor 15 with a pool view.
Air con was a blessing - day temperatures were high 30s and it didn’t cool down much in the evening.
Room was serviced every morning and towels were changed daily.
We were all inclusive and the food didn’t let us down - there was always something nice to eat. Outside of buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner, snacks were available from a wagon with burgers, hot dogs etc, cooked to order. We went out a few nights - Amigos in the old town sells fab steaks!
A/I Drinks were standard local beverages. Band upgrades were available for 8 euros per person. Upgrades included branded drinks and a better selection of snacks and ice creams.
Plenty of sun beds - the usual scramble in the morning for poolside but beds were available to everyone.
The only let down of this hotel is their severe lack of adult entertainment. Kids were catered for right up to midnight - okay if you are with little ones but poor if you are a party of adults. The hotel should reconsider their entertainment programme if they want adult only parties to remain in the hotel in the evening.
Would I return to this hotel? Only if the evening entertainment was sorted out. Great hotel for families though!

The hotel is very familiar and collected, all the children's activities were near the children's pool so we had them under control.
The rooms were very cool, the air worked very well.
The buffet was very good and varied every day, so you always found something you liked.
The children's area with cars, mats, golf... was very good, always very controlled with monitors, at night a success because it was like not having children.
The monitors and lifeguards are very attentive to the children.

To add a drawback, the evening performances lasted very little, only 30 minutes and were more for adults, the children were bored, and they spent the entire time in the park playing.
The performance of the couple who danced different dances non-stop was excellent, very professional.

The outdoor play area is there all year round. There's a bouncy castle, ball pond, enclosed football area, mini golf, basketball hoop and cars. I haven't seen any age limit there but the ball pond/bouncy castle are fairly small.

you can swim free of charge for an hour per day, after that it is 7 euros for the day but that includes use of the facilities like the gym, sauna, steam room etc.

yes, the hotel is on a slightly steep and narrow road (with narrow pavements) so people are dropped off and picked up at a hotel about a 5 minute walk away from the Princesa. So yes, the road the hotel is on is unsuitable for people with mobility issues.
