All very good, the most beautiful hotel in Madrid, fully equipped rooms, soundproofed, despite being in the center of the city of a large street.
Very friendly and professional staff. Breakfast very complete, the workers seem very happy, they smile a lot especially Abram was very attentive to us.

A wonderful experience here with my study abroad trip to Madrid. The staff spoke wonderful English. We had breakfast included every day and the host, Abraham, was wonderful with helping us order and recommending things to do in the city. The room was also great with two twin beds (great for sharing a room). Bottled water was also included each day with the room. When I come back, I will stay here!

This hotel was everything i was looking for. Don't be fooled by the simple reception because this hotel is really good. The room was just what i was looking for, it had some really nice touches and was thoughtfully furnished. The place doesn't try too hard to be cool, it just is!

I was greeted in my room by some nibbles and a balloon. Who doesn't like a balloon?! The toiletries were good and it had everything you'll need in terms of amenities. The bed was super comfy and the shower has a really good pressure of water.

Before you check in the hotel will email you to ask if you prefer a shower or bath and itll ask you loads of other questions to help tailor your stay to your needs. I thought that was an excellent thing to do.

I'd recommend going there when it is warm because it has a really good roof top bar with some excellent views. I'd also say that you should wait until the Plaza Espana has been finished (they are redoing it at the moment).

This hotel is also located on the edge of an up and coming area. It might be a bit dirty but you can tell that it has a vibe and it has some really great places to eat and drink. The area is called Malasana and Chueca. the area has cafes called Mision and HanSo which do great breakfasts.

The hotel is also right next to a Metro station so you can get to anywhere in Madrid from here, although I'd recommend walking area and enjoying the sights.

Enjoy!

This "Dear" boutique hotel is located nicely in Madrid to access all the central attractions by foot or transportation The staff were professional, attentive to needs and wants, clean, bright rooms.
The breakfast ,in a room with beautiful panaramic views of Madrid was delightful.
A big shout out to Jorge (waiter at breakfast) whose professionism, detail to service and pleasant personality made the trip one to remember (outside of the world pandemic). Thank you Dear Hotel!

First impression of the hotel when walking in was: clean, modern, practical, stylisch. The staff was really friendly and welcoming, spoke English well and even helped me make an appointment at a nearby nail salon. They upgraded us to a room with balcony on arrival. The room (deluxe room) was spacious, clean, designed with style and practicality in mind, modern, and with a wonderful welcoming twist - we received a little note, a coupon for a welcome drink at the bar, some small pastries and there were slippers and bathrobes for us to use. The bed and sheets were really comfortable, the mattress firm, which my back is always thankful for. One of the best things - the room is soundproof! Even though the hotel is on gran via, one of the busiest streets in Madrid we hardly heard noise from the street. We could hear a siren every now and then, but only faintly.
The bathroom was gorgeous, the rain shower spacious and there was a lot of storage space for toiletries, make-up, etc.
The bar/ restaurant staff was incredible, very friendly, helpful, welcoming and made every breakfast and drinks in the evening a great experience. One member of the staff, Jorge, even made us special coffees, which made breakfast an even better and more memorable experience. The view from the bar/ restaurant was gorgeous and even though it was off season and cold outside they had the terrace lights on, so with coats on we had a drink outside as well.
Thank you to the team of Dear Hotel Madrid!

Stayed here for 4 nights Monday to Thursday the stay was good in the following ways:
Location excellent
The two waiters on breakfast Wednesday and Thursday excellent
Room excellent
Maid service excellent
Now the bad points:
The breakfast on Tuesday was a disaster queuing on the emergency stairway to get in then a botched up menu and service. It would have been better to have closed the facility than give a substandard service due to refurbishment.
I wanted to cancel my breakfasts for the rest of the week for two reasons. 1) The above disaster and 2) We had to leave before the restaurant opened on the Friday morning.
Although it clearly stated on my booking the price of the rooms then an option to purchase breakfasts the reception staff insisted it was a room and breakfast rate combined which was not the case.
I was happy to pay for the breakfast on Wednesday and Thursday as the service and breakfast was excellent.
On Friday however the breakfast boxes were delivered with no utensil’s in either box and therefore could not be eaten. No time was available to rectify this and we left the boxes in the room and reported this to reception on our way out.
So in essence a good stay would have been a great stay. Mistakes can happen in any hotel but what separates the good hotels from the excellent hotels is the way they deal with them. They sent a request for feedback but could not be bothered to reply to it.
I would recommend this hotel if things run smoothly but if problems occur as sometimes they do then go somewhere else!

My wife and I checked in for a one night stay and on entering the room found it excessively warm and we were unable to get the air conditioning to cool the room. After an hour or so Reception told me that it only heated the room and suggested I open the windows as it would be cooler at night.

Ordinarily this wouldn’t be a problem in April but the hotel is situated on Gran Via, one of the busiest roads in Madrid with traffic noise 24/7. We therefore asked to be moved to a room away from the road and were told that all of the hotel rooms are street side. We therefore decided to check out and left the room as we found it. In fairness the person on reception was very understanding and said that they too were a light sleeper and wouldn’t get a good sleep with the windows open.

This sentiment was extended by the Manager as I was contacted later that evening to be told that the Manager was unwilling to refund the room rate as it was within the hotels no refund period and we were to be charged for two breakfasts also!

So despite the hotel website stating ‘personal air conditioning’, this is not the case.
The hotel seems lovely and the staff were understanding but we paid €248 to arrive, play with the thermostat in the room for an hour or so and then check out to go to another hotel because we simply wanted to be able to sleep.
Other than that the hotel seemed fine.

Very good hotel in a very central location right next to the royal palace and not very far from other must sees such as the food market Mercado de San Miguel, Retiro Park and Plaza Mayor etc. The bedrooms are spacious, stylishly decorated and have a nice big walk in rain shower in the en suite. There is a complementary bottle of drinking water in the fridge with a constant resupply of drinking water from a water fountain on every floor. Breakfast is diverse and plentiful. A large selection of meats, cheeses, breads and pastries are available in the buffet but hot dishes such as eggs Benedict can be ordered too at the table. Jorge the waiter as well as the nice views from the terrace on the 14th floor make breakfast an enjoyable experience. The pool on the 15th floor is a welcome addition during these very hot august days in Madrid but albeit slightly small. Sometimes it can get a little busy in there. The view from the pool is spectacular though. Drinks are a little pricy in the rooftop bar. An aperol spritz for instance will set you back 14 euro’s a piece. Two points that could have made this review an excellent one: 1. The pool only opens at 12, which is pretty late if you want to have a little dip before you explore the city. 2. When the pool closes at 8pm, people still in swim wear are told to go change for the punters coming in from the streets. Surely hotel guests should be treated like they are at home. It was slightly off putting. Overall a very good experience, almost excellent.

Delightfully functional hotel in the middle of everything one might one for a stay in Madrid. Tube stop is right in front when stepping out of the lobby, 10-15 minutes walk to Palacio Real and whole host of different bars, cafes and restaurants. All the Madrid buzz is at the grasp just outside the sliding front doors.
Lobby staff was apt to help with whatever we had in mind and ready to share any information about hotel functions and current situation. What was important for us was gluten free options for edibles, that was handled extremely well and as a normal request, not a special service.
We liked the overall contemporary interior design, simple well designed furniture and structures. I can wholeheartedly recommend this for business and leisure, families with small kids might find rooftop pool not so great but that's a price one has to pay for city vacation.

We booked 2 nights for my husbands 50th birthday. The hotel is in a great location with well equipped rooms with lots of helpful extras and finishing touches (even make up remover wipes in the bathroom) Andrea, Esther and Vanessa were super helpful in email exchanges before we arrived and then very kindly upgraded our room to terrace on 12th floor. Our stay was really wonderful and nothing was too much trouble for these 3 ladies. Thanks so much for making our visit to Madrid really special.

Hi. I’m taking a taxi fro the airport. Is there a drop off area infront of the hotel? Thank you.
Answer from Hambledon
Godalming, United Kingdom209 contributions108 helpful votes
Not as such, no - there is no parking "bay". But taxis routinely stop outside the doors of the hotel to drop off passengers, so provided you aren't asking them to wait, that would be fine. (Personally I used the metro, as there is a stop outside the doors of the hotel. The first thing we did when we landed at Madrid Airport was head for the Metro ticket office and bought a week long travel pass for the metro - really convenient throughout our stay and the cost of a week long pass was about the same as one taxi journey from the airport to the hotel!)
