We were very pleased with our stay at the Hostal Main Street for 4 nights in May. The location was very convenient. there is a metro station just down the block so we took the metro from the train station. You are near a bustling square with shops and restaurants but we were not bothered by street noise in the room. The room was clean and cute with a coffee station and a comfortable bed, The bath had a good shower and a bidet. The staff was very helpful and welcoming and someone was available 24 hours. When we lost a phone, the main clerk made calls to the Prada to check Lost and Found for us. The phone was never found but she was very kind and helpful!

Best hostal I have ever stayed. The twin room we stayed is the quietest in the building, zero noise, we needed that. The room is spacious and had every I was actively looking for with a great price. It is right in town, with all the amenities and shops around. Metro stop 1 minute away. Beds are confortable, there is air conditioning, a mini fridge, and the windows have electric blinds for black out. This is better than a hotel. Staff is so nice and helpful. I will be back 100%.

Centrally located, value for money, genuinely nice staff Excellent access to all transport- bus, taxi, metro. Near to everything in the center. Dining and fast food options. Nice helpful staff, specially the night receptionist & cleaning lady who brought down our luggage at checkout. Quiet rooms in a particularly noisy area. Relaxing interiors -gray & shades of blue. Small bathroom. Well- maintained and clean. Aircon. A nice touch: complimentary bottle of Codorniu for two and the towel sculptures. Free wifi. No frills, no breakfast, but pleasant. Disliked: Not a single seat provided in our room. Bed was too small for two.

Excellent hotel in the city center. Small and basic room but no need beyond that, clean all the time and very kind staff. Good value for money even the prices were higher because of the games, I highly recommended to stay there.

I just recently stayed here with my boyfriend and it was amazing! Just like the pictures! Amazing views out the window, room cleaned everyday! And within walking distance of literally everything! Was a little skeptic about the building it was in as it kind of looks a bit seedy and dodgy as you make your way up to the floor it’s on but the second the door opens to enter the hostel it’s a whole different world, immaculately clean, the staff don’t speak great English but you’d get over that, they were very helpful, can’t wait to come back here again this place will always have a piece of my heart

I would certainly stay in the Hostel Main Street again. The location is absolutely perfect for exploring Madrid on foot/my Metro. And for its class of accommodation it is perfectly good. The aircon works well, the room is small but functional, there's a small fridge to keep some water cool and they provide plenty of towels and soaps etc. The rooms on the outside can be a bit noisy - but you do get a small terrace. But they are double glazed with an electric blind which helps. I only had one bad night but that was due to some building work starting at 6am (Madrid is quite a late at night town so I'd not long got in!) hardly their fault. There are rooms facing an inner courtyard - I imagine these are a bit quieter. Internally the hostel was quiet and there was no disturbance from rooms next door etc. As it's a 'hostal' there's no food onsite - but you are so central there's loads of places very nearby. The lift is small but worked for the days I was there faultlessly. They even coped with my truly dreadful Spanish!

Located on the Gran Via, near multiple metro stations making it easy access to all tourist destinations, and pretty close to these places. We walked to most of the areas. The room and washroom were clean, towels had a bit of a musty smell but nothing major. A complimentary bottle of wine in the fridge and basic tea/coffee/water amenities were provided. The rooms were pretty spacious. The lady at the reception was helpful in providing us with an overview of the cities best spots to visit. We requested for an early check in and they were kind enough to accommodate us. The only issue is that the lift is very small and the reception area is just one table, but I guess for the area and the price, this is all you can get. Great value for money.

Good location (on Gran Vía and a 7-minute walk to the Plaza Mayor/San Miguel area), modern and spacious rooms, great prices, efficient and polite staff. They even offered us a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine after checking in. Overall we had a great experience. Just a heads-up to my fellow light-sleepers: walls are a bit thin so this hotel can be a bit noisy depending on other guests' manners. Luckily we brought earplugs and we normally use our tablet for white noise, so we didn't have any major problems. Hotel management was also kind enough to give us the quietest room available (Room 11, ask for it in advance if you're also a light-sleeper).

This hostel is right off the Gran Via in walking distance of everywhere. The rooms are spotless and the staff are wonderful. They gave me a room on the street at first which I found noisy. They moved me quickly the next day to an inside room (window facing the internal courtyard). I don't need sun, I need quiet, so I really appreciated their care and attention. I was also able to leave my suitcase until 19:00 since I had a late flight. All kindnesses much appreciated. There is an elevator (the Hostel is on the 5th floor, enter from Gran Via), A/C and hot showers - the space might be a bit tight if you are a big person. It is an upscale hostel so no breakfast but there are many places to go to nearby.

This hotel is located in the heart of the city. You go outside and there's the gran vía street. Very comfy and has all you need, I stayed here for a week and had the time of my life in Madrid. There are restaurants, bars, tapas, stores, fast food and all you can imagine. Totally worth it.
