No actual reception in the suites building, rather it's in the hotel next door. The room is ok for a short stay but needs some maintenance and the kitchen needs to be better stocked. Wouldn't describe it as 5 star though. All the rooms should have a coffee machine and coffee rather than having to request it from the reception.
+ rooms are big + stuff is friendly in person - rooms ('suites') are run down - - > rather 3.5 than 5 stars - double minus: in 4 days our room has been cleaned only 1 time. Our garbage bins are flowing over. We have brought that to the attention of the reception, but to no avail. Now reception is not even picking up the phone anymore. The stuff is hiding from their paying customers! I want my money back. I do not pay for not cleaned room and for full bins. 3 more days to stay there. Hope the bins will be emptied and the rooms will be cleaned again.
Definitely not five star facilities or service, more like two, perhaps. We booked a two bedroom apartment but reception initially tried to give us one bedroom and a sofa bed. Eventually, after a long wait in the temporary reception area (they were rebuilding the main one) we got our two bedroom apartment. It was a nice size but had a number of issues. The shower screen on bath lacked a sealing strip so water poured all over the bathroom floor, making it unhygienic and slippery. A large marble skirting tile fell off the wall in the bedroom and needed to be repaired. Worse, the large window in the living room didn't lock or even shut properly and couldn't even be repaired (the hotel knew about this already but hadn't or couldn't fix it), leading to security worries (we were on first floor). Although it was supposed to be self catering, they provided very limited utensils and cooking facilities, (e g. no oven for pizzas, two small electric rings that couldn't be used at same time, no colander or sieve so I burnt myself draining pasta from pan) and there wasn't even a proper draining rack to dry plates, etc. The staff on the reception desk seemed pretty disengaged from our issues and complaints and when we checked out simply said they will "tell the manager" and that was it. Also my partner got her purse pickpocketed on the Metro and again, the staff seemed very unengaged with offering any sympathy, support or help when we mentioned this on check out. The main hotel reception area was being rebuilt, leading to cables trailing across floors, which we had to drag suitcases across, closed entrances and moved facilities, such as the bar moving upstairs but no staff even bothered to inform us of this on check in. One day, we accidentally went to the "VIP area" and got asked to leave, not nice. No staff informed us about any special events happening around the new year holidays, even though we found out there was a party on the top floor. Overall not great facilities or customer service.…
First of all this place wouldn’t even begin to know what 5 star hotel is. Rooms are dated, dirty, smelly Walls are paper thin - good luck trying to get your 6month old baby to sleep People smoke in the rooms and they smell - smoke seeps into our room Reception is unresponsive and untrained to handle disruptive guests Bathroom furniture is damaged by moisture Tv in room was broken I’m counting down the days til I get out of here this place is a nightmare Like everyone else has said - this place is disconnected from the main hotel in every way - reception is across the street, there’s no valet, no consierge, no housekeeping I invite the manager to actually spend a night here to experience the safety hazard they call a hotel Room 225 the Guests right next door to me have been nonstop partying, playing loud obnoxious loud music and smoking even loud crashing noises the room since 4:00am it’s 6:30am they are still at it. I’ve Been calling reception and they’re nobody is answering.…
Great big rooms with self catering facilities. There is a restaurant connected. What I liked about the place was that there was a plaza around the corner with fast food restaurants, small bars and a bakery. Sitting there, eating cheap, watching locals coming home gave me a great feel for real Barcelona. #ramblingstampcollectors
