Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.

I only have good things to say about our stay here back in December. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with such warmth and friendliness. Our room was ready to check into which was unexpected but a bonus. Room: We stayed in 507 which is an internal room overlooking

We are loyal in Ibis especially on leisure trips because we consider that they offer a good value for money. The specific Ibis besides it's location which is a plus, seems to achieve an improved level thanks to its breakfast and small details in critical areas e.g. juice and

Nice comfortable hotel. I was in room 507 which is an inside room with a window that overlooked an indoor atrium. The window is mirrored on the outside to stop people in the corridor seeing in but also cuts out what limited daylight available to the room. The only 2 power

The Barcelona Centrum Sagrada Familia hotel is really one of the best hotels from the Ibis-chain I've stayed. Situated only 1 block away form the legendary Cathedral, it offers a unique atmosphere in a modern environment. Staff makes you feel at home and respected. Very clean

We only used the metro on the way in. The airport metro station is quite a walk from the terminal. We took the line 9 to Zona Universitaria. We took line 3 down to Santa Estacio. Then line 5 to Sagrada Familia which is quite near the hotel. We found it tiring with all the luggage, with the walking and with the two changes but it can be done. Allow plenty of time. Our return flight was so early, we decided to go by taxi.

The room rate varies according to days and season. From €80 to €110 for room. Some rates include breakfast. If not the breakfast is €8 per person. Reasonably good breakfast. Always fresh and varied. Continental breakfast - not hot English type. Excellent coffee

Perfect location near Sagrada Familia. 3 city blocks to a street of restaurants. Nearest Metro is 4 city blocks. For Airport get taxi to train station - about €10. Then train to airport. Can use your multi-use Metro ticket to get to airport as well on the city trains
