We nearly overlooked this hotel, as it’s officially 3 star & we were looking for 4 star, but read on. Fantastic location, with major attractions easy to walk to (eg Casa Battlo, Las Ramblas, Gothic quarter). Aerobus from airport every 5 – 10 minutes, really fast (get off at Plaça Universitat – less than 5 mins walk, but return from Plaça Catalunya – 5 mins walk). Metro just round the corner – 1-2 mins walk. We stayed as a couple in a Family Deluxe room (211) – really spacious, corner room with 2 windows on 2 sides. Beds (2 large singles placed together) really comfortable, though pillows less so (admittedly there’s also a pillow menu, but we didn’t use). No outside noise at all – possibly a rumbling from the lift, but not significant. Bathroom fine (separate shower & bath), with good water pressure. Breakfast exceptionally good value (10 euros) with surprisingly large range of hot and cold food (scrambled eggs disappointing though) & omelettes to order. Coffee from machine not as good as a coffee shop, but at that price……! Extra bonus – free Cava in reception from 4 – 6pm. Amazing! Some other reviewers found Reception staff unfriendly – we didn’t, but you have to engage them in conversation – not the other way round. Definitely our choice for any future breaks in Barcelona.
Stayed here for 3 nights. The welcome was efficient and easy. Room was a good size and clean with a strong shower and good provision of toiletries and the bed was large and comfortable. We were on the 4th floor and no street noise bothered us. All in all a great hotel in a great location and we would stay here again
Really great hotel in an excellent location. Only 2 mins from Placa de Catalunya. Great rooftop terrace with swimming pool although, as it's not heated, a little cool in November. Next time I'm in Barcelona I'll stay here.
Stayed at the Hotel Jazz for 5 nights in the beginning of November. Stayed in room 718 which faced the quiet courtyard and had a very nice king bed. The hotel felt extremely clean, and we noticed housekeeping changed the comforter on a daily basis. The bed was very nice and we slept well throughout the trip, the showers (came with body wash, shampoo, and conditioner) were nice and hot with great shower pressure. The only issue we found was after showering there would be a weird sewer-y smell coming from the floor drain next to the toilet (but a little airing out cleared it right up). This hotel is in a fantastic central location and is extremely convenient for any type of trip you are taking. Highly recommend and will be back!
After some of the reviews I read I was expecting worse. I requested a quiet room for my parents and that request was met. I got a room over looking the main road a little noise at night. Check in was quick no personal service from the person who was on duty. Other reception staff were pleasant when passing. The room was perfect toiletries provided. Excellent location. TC Screen provides information regarding location. Reception when I asked for directions to town were provided. I ate breakfast the last two mornings there is something for everyone - you will not go hungry. Wifi working. Staff in passing very friendly. Lady in Restaurant very nice.
An unbeatable location in the heart of Barcelona, between Plaza Catalunya, Paseo de Gracia, and the famous Ramblas, has made Hotel Jazz into one of the city’s most cosmopolitan hotels.A magnificent outdoor …Morepool and a spacious terrace make the hotel a unique and spectacular spot for relaxing in the city center, and grant guests easy access to the city’s historical attractions and Gaudí’s modernist architecture throughout the neighborhood of the Eixample. Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day
forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
