The location is perfect right on Plaza Catalunya. The rest is very average. You walk through a shop to get to the reception. I have stayed there several times. The rooms are very different. Get a room with a view to Las Ramblas.

If you don't have a lot of luggage with you then train or bus can be the cheapest options. Bus stop and train station is right below the hotel.

Yap it's possible. Not sure there's a balcony but most rooms if not all looking at the plaza Catalunya try emailing the hotel they are very nice :)
