I've booked this room as it had low rates for the time frame, that I was in Barcelona. It is rated with 2 spanish stars, so expectations were not too high, being honest.
Nevertheless, I was very positive surprised. The staff at the front desk is excellent, very friendly and also very helpful. Rooms were simple but functional and clean. That also applies for the bathroom. There is a safe in the room, which gives enough space for quite some stuff, that you might not want to carry around in Barcelona.
For the type of the hotel, the breakfast is really good. You get scrumbled eggs, sausages, bacon (hot) and also variations of cheese, ham and other things for your bread. There are xeveral juices and water and milk, as well as some flakes, yoghurt etc. Also there is a big coffee machine, from which you can choose between various things, such as Cappucino, Cafe americano, etc. For the amount of money, the breakfast costs, it's a really good start of the day. Also, the breakfast area is very clean indeed, once a guest leaves the table, it's getting cleaned up properly from the staff. Hand sanitizers are available in all public areas and WiFi also works great in lobby, as well as in rooms. The hotel is very near to a busy road, though when the windows are closed, you hear nothing from outside. SOme walls inside are a little thin so if there are adults, who are "not reading the bible", you might hear some action, but usually that only lasts a few minutes.
For those who want to have a nice evening out and don't want to spend a fortune: There is a nice place near by (L'Atelier de Blai - please also see my review on this on trip advisor). It's 3-5 minutes walking distance from the hotel and you can get WONDERFUL tapas and drinks there. Opposite site of the street from the hotel is a Burger King and on the left hand side you have some Asian snack shops.
IN the early moenings (before 7 am) to Terminal 1 of Barcelona airport you need about 15-20 minutes with the taxi, to some beach places less than 10.
For those travelers, who are more into the area and being out, rather than staying at their hotel, this place is definitely recommendable.

The hotel offers decent accommodations for a reasonable price. Rooms are attractively decorated, but noise can be an issue. The mattress I was acceptable, but nor excellent. The hotel is well located and provides a rather extensive breakfast buffet. If traveling for business, know that the hotel does not have 1 single iron to lend to guests, so you’ll have to use the laundry service, which costs extra. The staff was friendly and helpful.

staid for 1 week in Barcelona and wanted to avoid the touristy places
easy access to La Rambla by foot, 15 min tops and 20 to Placa de Catalunya. You will find plenty of bars and restaurants along the way.
Subway stations nearby for an easy connection with the rest of the city
Hotel Room was cleaned daily
Big Bathroom with all amenities.
Didn't try their breakfast but you have the big market nearby for more variety.

It can be hard to find good decent accommodation at a reasonable price in a city such as Barcelona. But then step forward the hotel paralel.

Location is excellent. Just a few minutes walk from the paralel metro station..note their are a number of steps at the station. If you are travelling from the airport, catch the aerobus to Placa espanya - then two stops on the metro to paralel. I have done this journey myself and apart from steps is quick and easy. The hotel entrance is 25 metres off the main road (watch out for the big yellow sign and flashing arrows. In the surrounding area their are plenty of takeaways etc very close by, and a larger supermarket approx 150m back up paralel. To walk to la rambla is approx 12 minutes walk.

Check in was quick and professional - in fact both members of reception were always friendly and helpful.

Their is a small Lounge area on the ground floor, a second lounge area plus breakfast room on first floor. Also on the ground floor is a bathroom, and a luggage store. The store has luggage lockers that will take a carry on suitcase plus rucksack etc for just one euro. Safe and sound at a great price.

My allocated room was on the 4th floor overlooking the front of the hotel with Burger King opposite. The blackout curtains worked well. The twin bed room had mini bar, safe, tea/coffee and kettle, hanging area and flat screen tv (found only one English Channel). My bed was comfortable. The bathroom was obviously newly decorated and was ultra smart. Hairdryer available.

Breakfast was the standard European style with ham, cheese, hot drinks, cereal, breads and pastries, juices etc. the hot was scrambled egg, mini sausages and American style bacon.

Checkout was easy, and reception showed me where the luggage store was at back of ground floor.

I would certainly stay here again

Like many European hotels, the Paral.lel is a little off the beaten path and more tucked away than what you will find in a typical American hotel. But because of its location, it is easy to slip right in to Barcelona like one of the locals.

There are countless shops and cafes within a very short walk. Some of the main attractions of the city (like Sagrada Familia or Casa Mila) are a bit more of a hike, but Barcelona is a very clean and easy city to walk through. The proximity to the pier and the airport make it very reasonable choice to include as part of a cruise vacation starting in Barcelona.

The hotel rooms are clean and modern, and were very well maintained. The staff was friendly, helpful and quick to respond to requests. I would not hesitate to stay there again the next time I'm in Barcelona.

I stayed here on the weekend before Xmas as part of a BA package deal, £130 for flights and accommodation per person. Naturally we were abit anxious but the hotel is amazing. Great location with awesome transport links, super welcoming staff and very safe and secure. The bedroom was immaculate, modern with a comfy bed. Bathroom was clean and modern and very big in size. I would highly recommend for a weekend break.

I have been really impressed with my stay at this hotel, blighted by only one issue which I'll mention. I have a HUGE room in a corner room and have a fabulous city view along the main road. The noise was not too bad as the windows are well insulated.
The bathroom is very well equipped and the shower was very powerful. A very comfortable bed meant I had two great sleeps.
So, the issue?
The breakfast I'm afraid. The hotel is saying that due to Covid-19 that they can't operate their normal breakfast. So, I had to go to reception where I was given a breakfast box and I received a coffee from the machine in the reception area. The breakfast box was well equipped but it's not the same as having the option to choose my own food. The coffee was pretty poor to if I'm honest. Now, I've travelled extensively in Spain for the last 7 weeks and this is the first hotel where I've been given a breakfast box. Other hotels are operating normal breakfast procedures and with trained staff, rigorous hygiene protocols and instructed customers, there is no reason why the hotel couldn't revert to a enabling customers to enjoy a proper breakfast.

That said, good price, friendly staff and a good central location. Recommended.

There are so many things wrong with this place. For starters the receptionist locks the entrance if he has to leave the desk, so you cant get out, and people cant get in, and nobody knows whats going on. You have to activate the lift with your card to start it, but they don't feel the need to write a little instructions note in the elevator about it and you end up standing there in the dark, without a clue why the lift is not moving. In the lobby you cant find the stairwell, because out of five different doors that all look the same it isn't labeled. The room itself has a dark paint and no sealing lights, so during the evenings it gets too dark. The shower head does not fit properly and during first use it fell out and spray'd water everywhere. The towel rack is placed inside the shower, and the towels got all wet during my first shower. There is no place for your toiletry products, just a tiny little shelf the does not fit anything. The beds are just awful! I was not able to sleep on the side because of the bed-springs bruising my ribs. The wifi seemed to be fine throughout the hotel, but it did not work in my room. It worked for about 5 minutes at a time, then it went out for 2 minutes. I complained about this twice, and they did not fix it. The non working wifi and the awful beds ruined my stay there, and made sure I will not come back. To top it up the breakfast was not good. It was really bland and not a lot to choose from.

Very good hotel, centre of barcelona and the staff is very kind. The price is very competitive, the rooms are cleaned every day. I recommend it for those who want to stop in Barcelona without having to spend too much but still find themselves in a clean and welcoming environment. then obviously most of the time I doubt you will be in the hotel but visiting the city.

the hotel is nice, with kind and nice staff, and it's located near a very nice area plenty of small places where to eat or have something to drink. It's price is really good, especially if compared to the good quality of services they provide. I visit Barcelona almost every week for work, and I always enjoying staying at this hotel when I have meetings in this area of the city.

When we booked, breakfast was included and there was no extra charge when we left. The breakfast was substantial and they kept filling up. It set us up for the day.
