Nobu Hotel Barcelona's location garners mixed reviews; it's celebrated for its connectivity yet some guests find it less ideal for sightseeing. The rooftop terrace and views are highlights, though some visitors mention a shortage of pool loungers. While the hotel's cleanliness and Japanese-inspired ambiance are commended, the value proposition is questioned due to steep prices. Rooms are a blend of modern luxury and occasional noise complaints. Service quality varies, with reports of both commendable and lackluster experiences.

I have been living in Barcelona since January and had eaten at the Nobu restaurant once and wanted to come back for a stay so I decided to on my last night and am very happy I did. The check in process was easy and the room was very luxurious with an awesome view of the city. The rooms are very sleek and you can tell that everything is new. The room came with a Marshall speaker which was a nice touch. The bathroom has all high end materials and the bed was extremely comfortable. I love the giant fluffy pillows in the king size bed. The rooms use all high end materials such as wood and marble. Everything is so aesthetically pleasing to the eye. I also really liked the mood lighting. options and the automatic blinds. It’s so nice to open them without having to get out of bed! Comparing this to Four Seasons, St Regis and other 5 star hotels in this category I think it’s rooms are definitely up to the 5 star badge. The location however is a bit odd. If you are looking to stay downtown closer to the tourist spots and shopping, I would recommend the Mandarin Oriental given it’s better location. The Nobu however is close to the metro and they make it super easy to get a cab right out front. Overall a great experience and I will hopefully be back when the Spa opens so I can try it! Also- the Nobu restaurant (which is a chain of course along with the Matsuhisa restaurants) had delicious cocktails and sushi and one of the best views in Barcelona.

Absolutely adore Spain and mostly love Barcelona, have been here plenty of times and always try new hotels, depending on whats affordable, and I like to stay in this general area. When I saw the Nobu hotel at such a fab rate I could hardly believe it, having been a fan of the chain upscale restaurants for years, I immediately booked.

All in all, the hotel met all my expectations and very mcuh stayed in line with their luxurious reputation. I liked that all facilities and rooms were and felt very new and never used before, and of course loved having dinner at their sky restaurnat, as good as ever!

My wife and I pre booked this hotel as we were boarding a Cruise from Barcelona. We decided to book a 3 night stay in this hotel prior to joining the ship as we love Barcelona. What can I say other than we were not disappointed. The hotel is located near to the Saints railway station and at first we thought we were perhaps a bit "out of it" but soon realised that we were only a 20 minute walk from La Rambla. The Hotel was immaculate and we were lucky enough to have been given a corner room on the 11th floor which had amazing views.
The staff were extremely polite and helpful and the room itself was extremely comfortable. Our friends who were coming with us on the cruise decided to stay in a slightly cheaper hotel (£150 cheaper for the 3 nights) and they regretted not paying the extra as their hotel was very poor.
In our room was a large LCD TV, Marshall bluetooth speaker for connecting your phone too, electric controlled curtains and nets, USB charging points, table and chairs and light settings on the headboard. The air-conditioning was extremely easy to use and was quiet. We had a Nespresso machine with coffee pods and a fridge along with free bottled water. The bathroom was large with his and her washbasins and a walk in shower.
The bar and restaurant was on the top floor (22) and had amazing views overlooking the whole of Barcelona. The breakfasts themselves were very good although I cannot comment on evening meals as we did not eat in the hotel at night.
Whenever you left the hotel, the staff always spoke and were great for giving you advice. Should you need a taxi then they would be happy to waive one down for you.
We had no complaints whatsoever and would most certainly stay at this hotel again. Would highly recommend even if it meant paying a few pounds more to stay here.

My husband and I stayed in Barcelona for 3 nights. We were given a room on the third floor, overlooking the train station and the adjacent square, which is usually filled with people and taxis.
Now, the bathroom has a really huge window, that seemed completely transparent. The shower is right next to the window, so you have to stay in front of the window in order to shower. Third floor is pretty close to the ground, and from the square in front of the hotel the view opens right into the shower for anyone who walks by. Feeling really uneasy about showering basically in front of a crowd of people, I went to the front desk to ask if there is some mechanism that maybe shades the bathroom window, as we couldn’t find anything on our own. I was assured by a front desk guy that there is some special coating on the window that makes it impossible to see anything from the street. So, reassured, my husband and I took showers for the fist two days of our stay.
On the third day we decided to conduct an experiment — I would stand in the shower and my husband would photograph me from the street — to really shake off any concerns that we might be seen from the street. Turned out, other windows in the hotel indeed had some coating, but ours DID NOT. You can see the attached photo for yourself — there I am waving to my husband (you can probably see apple logo on the iPhone in my hand, that’s the level of details). The bathroom window right above me has a blurred type of coating, but ours is just simple 100% see through window.

When I showed the photos that we took to the front desk guy, he seemed genuinely sorry for the fist 10 seconds. However, his solution to this (clearly, very disturbing) incident completely threw me off. He asked if my husband and I “were planning to use our shower tonight”, to which I replied “obviously not, given that we know now the entire train station can see us showering!” I was clearly expecting us to be moved to another room just this instance. But the guy thought that us not showering is a good enough solution, and he offered the next morning the window in our room would be changed. Well, we left that morning and are clearly never coming back.

What really amuses me is that this is supposedly a five star hotel. We were never issued any kind of apology, no compensation for our distress at all. The hotel staff just behaved as if nothing had happened. Exposing customers’ nudity just like that to me seems like a very serious violation, it is not just some broken thermostat in the room. If the hotel was located in the US I would already be suing it.

Bottom line to the future guests — if you are given a room on lower floors, please take some effort to walk around the hotel and check for yourself just how much of your bathroom can be seen from the street.

Dear nataliakT9790LA, We very much appreciate your taking the time to share your experience with us in so many details. What is most upsetting about your review is to read about what seems to be a total lack of empathy from our team members! We are extremely sorry about this: we know that we are not perfect as we just reopened after a 2-year forced closure with some pending items to fix around the property. One thing we can control however, is how we handle our guests concerns. And this is a very valid concern. Had we not been full, we could have upgraded you to a higher floor in another room category, but this was not an option during your stay. We are in the process of installing the last few missing vinyls on the lower floor corner bathrooms with windows which was a total miss from our reopening. Once again, thank you for your feedback and we hope that you will one day give us a chance in Barcelona or in another Nobu hotel as your experience is not a common reflection of our who we are. Sincerely, L. Dubey General Manager

Unfortunately there was no house keeping service today, no water, although outside we are above 30 degrees, Supervision of housekeeping should be a must for this type of hotel.
Very disappointing to provide feedback and be told that only some towels will be brought. More is definitely needed for such a modern hotel. Important to highlight, refill of shampoo and other bathroom amenities was not provided from one day to the other. We also ordered room service and the tray was left there all day which meant the room had an unpleasant smell upon our return.
Please ensure the experience matches what is promised on your webpage.

Dear anafdelabra, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience at Nobu Barcelona with such details and frankness. This is very helpful to us as we pride in learning from our mistakes. It seems that you stayed during a main water shut down that impacted our hotel for a few good hours. Unfortunately, at times, there are some situations that are totally out of our control. About housekeeping services, we are trying to improve on our internal communication and procedures. We realized that many of our guests asked not to be disturbed during the day, preferring a later service. We have not always been able to satisfy all such requests recently and we are aware that service has been missed completely on some occasions, which seems to be your case. In regard to the room service tray not being picked up after you called to get it removed, this is equally unacceptable and we are truly sorry about this lack of follow up. Once again, we thank you for your feedback and we hope to be able to redeem your faith in Nobu hotels again in the future, if not in Barcelona, in another location. Sincerely, L. Dubey General Manager

This is supposed to be a 5 star hotel with Nobu restaurant on the top floor, but what I wasn’t told is that it’s still changing from what it was before, so no spa, no proper gym, no massage, no pool, no sauna. Sure, this was about €230 /night, but I wish I’d stayed in the town centre and had some taste of wonderful Barcelona like I’ve had before. I love Barcelona. I think it’s one of the best European cities around. City vibes, great restaurants, culture, beach, easy to walk around. Well, Nobu Hotel is nowhere near all of that! I was given a ViP Corner room #2019 on the 20th floor so it has 2 windows to get a view over the city, however the part of the city we are in is plain modern blocks with nothing to see (photos), so it’s a sad sparse view that lacks any of the Barcelona character that now would expect when visiting this wonderful city. When. You leave the hotel, you are next door to a Mercadona supermarket and Burger King is across the road. This is just not what Barcelona is about! Sure, if this is supposed to be a business hotel, then who needs a view and comforts of exciting Barcelona? Well I think if you hardly have any time here, it’s even more reason to be in the centre so you can walk out of the hotel any time and ‘feel’ the positive Barcelona vibe, instead of just another bricked up concrete jungle that it is around here. Inside the hotel, it is Soulless and feels like a show flat. Staff are pleasant, but that can never make up for what’s really missing here. Oh, just realised that my room has an intermittent heavy hum’ from somewhere in the wall. Not my aircon, as it’s off but more like a lift shaft, but I’m too far way from the lift for that. Breakfast this morning in Nobu restaurant with 'views' over the city, just not the city you imagine! This place is just not for me…or probably you either!

Dear Bobbybray, Thank you for your detailed feedback. Naturally, I am deeply disappointed to read that some aspects of our hotel did not meet your expectations. As you mention some facilities are still under renovation and all agencies are well informed that we are in a Soft Opening. It is also known that Nobu Barcelona is located on Sants neighborhood, near Sants Station (main train station), Montjuic area and very convenient to reach Fira Congress locations. You are correct when you say Barcelona is a city full of vibes and all neighborhoods offer different experiences to discover. The city center and many other neighborhoods are easily reachable from our location. Your valuable comments about room noise have been reviewed and actioned with Engineering team to find the origin and make sure this never happens again. Again, thank you for your comment, we hope that you will give us the chance to redeem your faith in Nobu maybe trying out another property on your future travels. Kind regards, Laurence Dubey General Manager

Helpful & friendly front desk and staff, nice breakfast buffet, lovely quiet room with good bed and nice city views located in very close proximity to transportation of all types. We had a corner room with full windows which had electric black out curtains and shades. Lovely bath with spacious shower and large bath towels. Robes and slippers provided. Very enjoyable three day stay. We were concerned we would be too far away from the major tourist attractions but we found that a Metro pass with a stop one block away provided relatively quick access to all major attractions. The Placa d'Osca with many restaurants is only a 4 minute walk to the west, and the Arena with many restaurants and shopping is only am 8 minute walk south.

A nice hotel option for Barcelona Breakfast set up needs attention.
The room I was allocated, was a really nice room with a great view. The amenities and gymnasium are well equipped, although there was a rather strange smell down in the basement when I went to use the gym.
The pool area is very cosy, although is it very limited sun loungers. There is a very small pool suitable for a dip, but not a swim.
And one of my main concern is when staying at Hotel is getting a good nights sleep in a quiet room I would say the noise levels were kind of average but nothing to complain about.
The only criticism I have is on my second breakfast there was a very large corporate group that basically took over the area. It was definitely not the same offering all those charged the same, €35 for the privilege. It was not a nice experience at all. The staff were really struggling to cope with the large group and the other guests. While they did their best. I was not happy with the service and spoiled my experience as it was noisy, busy and slow. I could only suggest that these large corporate groups are separated and Hotel guess that are not part of the group located for separately. There was no attempt to offer some sort of goodwill gesture when I mention this to the F and B manager and again at the reception.
Chances are you will not be unlucky like I was, but I do think this Hotel does cater for larger corporate groups.
Apart from that, I would say that the front desk were extremely helpful and professional.
The location is perfect, if you’re arriving from another country on the train as it is a couple of minutes walk from Barcelona Sans station.
I managed to hire a bike and it only takes 15 minutes to cycle to the main attractions in the central district.

Stayed for 3 nights in this Japanese inspired, modern hotel. Spacious room with walk-in shower. AC, lighting and curtains all operated from wall panel. Clean and comfortable with blackout curtains. The room doors don't have soft closures or handles that move so woken up by doors banging. Breakfast is quite expensive at 35 euros per person. However there is lots of choice. Hot food could be a little warmer but otherwise very nice. Booked the spa for 19 euros (sauna, steam and pool). The pool is very small and a length takes about three strokes to swim. A relaxing experience though. Overall a pleasant stay and convenient location for train, bus and metro. A little far out of the centre and away from the tourist attractions.

I arrived at the Nobu hotel on Friday morning very early. When i arrived the staff immediately ran outside to help me with my luggage and give me a very warm welcome.

After check in i went upstairs to see my room which was so beautiful. The sunlight that comes in through the windows gives you the feeling of holiday straight away.

In the evening we had dinner on the top floor and while enjoying all the delicious treats on the menu together with a perfectly made Aperol spritz we watched the sunset.

After dinner i went down to my room which was perfectly prepared for the night with soft lightening. The bed felt like a cozy cloud giving me the feeling never wanted to get out of it.

The last night i ordered roomservice so i could eat my dessert in bed while watching Netflix. A 10/10 experience which i would highly recommend. The food will arrive as you are eating in the restaurant but in your own comfort zone.

From the moment of arriving at nobu hotel until the last second of being there i experienced the greatest form of hospitality and care. The room will make you feel like home such as the staff.

Thanks a lot and you will see me shortly!

It was cold and wet when we visited Barcelona. Never had a chance to use the pool. Only made a rooftop visit to view the incredible unobstructed sights! I'm sure for the calibre of this hotel, this amenity should be provided....if not, just ask housekeeping for extra towels.
