I really wanted to like this hotel but can't. Our room was interesting and had a great view (17th floor) which we paid dearly for. The staff was barely pleasant, very young and at sometimes almost snotty. The decor and design seems to be trying...More
The hotel is stunning in a great location. However no matter how beautiful a hotel could be, without a great team it would not mean much and the W Barcelona has an amazing team of Insiders, front desk, pool, and management that would be there...More

Just spent an excellent 3 night break here. Difficult to say anything negative about our experience. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful (especially the concierges.) Breakfast spread was excellent with high quality food. We ate out in evenings so can’t comment on dinner. The...More
I loved the time there.
The reason why I don’t give five is because I prefer more curated hotel with unique experience and feeling and this is just another (great) W.
Room was great. Staff super helpful and efficient.
Overall - I do not recommend this hotel despite it being right beside the beach. If you are a platinum elite with Marriott, you should avoid this hotel as they don’t do anything to recognise loyalty.
Check in was rushed and non welcoming. Not to...More

Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in
the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
Must go to Restaurante Somorrostro. Cute little Tapas in the old town. Cheap but fabulous food. Walking distance from the W hotel, about 15mins. Tel: +34932250010. You must book it’s onlt small and busy. They speak great... More

I would recommend you to withdraw eur from an atm, that’s how you get the best exchange rate. If you have usd you want to convert to eur, there are plenty of exchange offices in BCN, all with terrible rates. BR
