Plus points....Clean and comfortable hotel room ,rooms cleaned daily very powerful show over bath, good pool with no problem getting a lounger. Good location for bus station, sea front and town square with loads of bars/restaurants all fairly priced and very yummy food with good service.

Minus points.... don’t get up early for a swim and early sun because the pool is on the roof and doesn’t open till 10am, the bar is tiny and hard to get a drink due to lack of barman, snacks are just crisp and ice creams. The lift is soooo slow quicker to take the stairs, no pool towels provided or tea/coffee facilities in room, toiletries are a joke just sachets of shower gel. Nice selection for breakfast but all cold and tables not cleared so hard to find clean table.

Not hotels fault but loud road works and hotel renovations going on right outside the hotel (quiet over the weekend though).

WiFi and safe not free and isn’t that cheap, balcony door doesn’t lock in room (well didn’t in ours room 2519). And you need a good set of legs to get about as very steep hills to the main square.

Not bad seeing as we only stayed 3 nights, but this is my opinion you should make up your own if you decide to stay.

This hotel has some nice staff but a very bad WiFi system paid 30 Euro for two people to use for a week, my wife could not get onto the premium WiFi in the room, i got onto the WiFi sometimes but it was that bad and slow a snail would have been faster.
I did receive 15 Euro refund for my wife the free WiFi in the lounge area downstairs was a little better. The breakfast was very poor and cold every day, we tried different times without much luck, cereal (cornflakes) was hardly ever there sometimes you had to hunt for cutlery and sometimes coffee and hot water machines empty, room cold on a night other than that hotel maybe 1 star

We stayed 12nts for our second visit to Magec, we really love it here its very clean, friendly, lovely staff food is good too we only stayed b/b so much choice for breakfast the seedy rolls are delicious never went hungry. Hotel is near to all amenities. Loved the bar for evenings very lively & happy, mostly Spanish music which we love, also saw bird show & disco night. This time we opted for a superior room, which was very nice, sun on balcony from 12 ish till 6 ish, last time we had standard room on 5th floor overlooking road which was also fine. Really can't understand why some people moan for the price you pay its great value, why not try 5* pay 5* price which would be treble. Agree that in some areas its not 4* but a good 3*. The only slight problem when we were there, no animation, was looking forward to playing darts, rifle shooting, bowls etc....This is a happy hotel with lots of people returning year after year so it can't be that bad. We will definitely return. Thank you to all the lovely staff from cleaners to reception all very, very helpful & friendly...…………...

Just coming to end of 2 week holiday in Tenerife - first visit. Weather been really mixed but the hotel is comfortable so not havng the sun all of the time was okay. Rooms are big and the shower is like a power shower with loads of hot water at any time of day. Rooms are cleaned daily and the staff are all really helpful and friendly. I am on the 2nd floor at the back and it has not been at all noisy ( in fact quite peaceful) although there is building work at the front of the hotel so not sure if rooms over that way are as quiet as mine has been.
There is different entertainment each night in the bar and daytime (10 to 6pm) there is the rooftop pool and gym.
Immediately across from hotel are shops and just a few minutes away on the same side there are a couple of cafes which both serve lovely churros .
I have been half board and the restaurant staff are lovely and the food has always been good with lots of choice from the buffet. The drinks are very reasonably priced and you can buy a bottle of wine and have this brought to your table each night.
I travelled alone and it looks as though there are a good number of people travelling alone and staying here- and have always felt very safe in the hotel and in the surrounding area. The centre is a five minute walk away downhill with lots of shops and bars.
Would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a central location good food, comfy beds and a great base from which to explore the area. Having Carnaval on this past week was an unexpected bonus too !
Thank you to all of the hardworking staff at the Magec Hotel your service is very much appreciated .

Am enjoying my two week stay here. Am in a room at the back on the 2nd floor, which is away from the building noise. It looks like the renovations to the hotel opposite will be going for another year. This hotel has excellent food. I am on half board, so breakfast 7am to 10am, which includes juices, teas and coffees, and then dinner 7pm to 10pm, where you have to buy your own drinks. Lots of variety, each evening has a fish, meat and vegetarian option. I paid 15 euros for one week wifi, which you can use anywhere in the hotel, not just your room. Have downloaded some films onto my tablet, no problems. Quite a few supermarkets in easy walking distance. I saw some people hired disabled scooters, which you can charge in reception, for those less abled. Pool is on 8th floor roof top, so a great sun catcher. Sun beds are free, and have had no trouble getting one each day. Hairdresser and massage on site, and gym. I brought my own travel kettle for tea in my room. Room service excellent. Amazing strong shower, and a bath, which is quite rare to get. Bath /shower gel, soap and hair shampoo are provided in sachets. Easy to walk to beaches and shops, great variety of restaurants and bars too. Perfect base for being out and about.Bus station and taxi rank very nearby too.

After years of reading TA reviews I felt compelled to write my first as this hotel deserves far more credit.

I must say that the price was incredible, almost certainly a post-lockdown deal, which of course influences the experience, but regardless I really enjoyed my stay here.

The hotel is doing an excellent job adapting to the new normal. There are floor markers, instructions on using the lift, maid service, tv remote wrapped in film, and hand sanitiser everywhere. Even the staff have personalised face masks!

I stayed on a B&B basis and was pleasantly surprised by the range of options at breakfast. Continental, Full English, Fruit, cereals... This is all now served my the staff who are helpful and friendly. Only niggle is that drinks are no longer self service which means having to ask a member of staff (always obliging) for a drink after you have your breakfast. This just feels slight unnecessary as the buttons on these machines could be covered as they are on the lifts.

The room was excellent. Bright and very spacious. The decor is relaxing and clean. I particularly liked (and only ever experienced this here) the real king size bed which was not just two singles pushed together!

Nice modern TV which means you can push the language option on the remote to change the dubbing from Spanish back to English if it’s a UK/US programme.

Pool area was perfectly nice and well attended by the barman.

All in all a really nice place! Thanks to all!

We booked into the Hotel Magec for two weeks and got it at a bargain price. It was rated 4* so we thought it was going to be a quality hotel.

The room itself was basic. The "double bed" was two single beds pushed together which is not ideal. It had a TV, fridge, shower/bath, wash-hand basin, toilet and bidet and hairdryer but no kettle.

The balcony had a view towards the busy main road and bus station, but we could also see the sea (from third floor) and the top of Mount Tiede which was impressive. The sheets and towels were changed daily and the room was kept clean. You could hear conversations from other hotel rooms due to the bizarre ventilation system in the bathroom and main bedroom.

We stayed half board but the food was disappointing. Most of the time it was luke warm and lacked flavour and taste. For breakfast there was processed ham and cheese, bread, eggs (boiled and fried), omelette, hot dog sausages, bacon, yoghurt, various fruits and cakes and ice-cream (three flavours)

In the evening there was soup, cooked meat, such as chicken and fish (tuna, hake), ribs, meat dishes etc. The food should have simply been hotter, which is why they supply the dining room with a microwave. The only thing that was piping hot was the soup which changed daily.

There were usually only two staff clearing the tables and taking drinks orders (evening only) which meant that plates were left on the table for nearly an hour, rather than taken away after each course. In protest I moved to a clear table rather than sit and stare at a load of empty plates. Guess what?! They were soon cleared away!

Most days there were items missing such as butter, yoghurt, cups (for tea/coffee) etc. I'm not a fussy eater but this hotel really needs to do much better if it wishes to compete with other hotels in the area.

The hotel itself was OK, but very dated compared to others in the area. It had a tired 1980s feel to it and really needs updating to the 21st century.

There are much better hotel in the area, so please look around rather than stay here. It's very basic for a 4* hotel.

Agaist all the bad reviews we read we still booked, as the location is perfect for our needs- close to to the raxi rank, bus stops, just a few minutes from the marina, regardless to say the money we paid in comparison to precious year was less then half including flight from Mallorca. We chose half board, food was decent, ABSOLUTELY ALL STAFF is REMARKABLE, room was cleaned every day, we all enjoyed it so much that mum and daughter returned for Christmas 2021, and will return in November 2022, as we'll finish our summer season in Mallorca and need to go to our favourite spot and relax, even with my injured knee will still go there, as they are amazing and do everything to make our stay as perfect as possible. Mucho love from Mallorca, see you in November

we booked a room with a balcony view and was given a room in the corner at the back of the hotel with a wall for a view no sun no view ,we was made to feel that even tho we had paid all inclusive that our drinks were free? made to wait , serving paying customers first, and they got good branded alcohol, in a larger glass with fancy stuff , we got given a small glass of pre made cocktails , one male bar staff in the downstairs bar, was very rude, foood was the same everyday and there was building work going on in the hotel oposite ,very loud. the only good thing i can say is that it was very clean , rooms cleaned everyday.
i feel if your young you would not enjoy this hotel as there isnt much going on for them like us . it was more for senior people. as young women we were looked up and down by them everyday wich isnt a nice feeling. we had a great holiday in all but would not return to this hotel.

Wow promise the world and felt very let down booked a half board and up graded to all-inclusive due to 4 euro a pint but 2 days no bar attendant and no snacks around the pool the slush machine had a mold slick around the surface of the contents .At dinner we orded wine with dinner (that was edable but poor poor quality)we took a sip and didn't like it so requested it to be returned witch they did by pouring the glasses back into the decanter and proceeded to put on another customers table .the sun brolly around the pool area was fit for the bin all torn and frayed. For a few days that may be due to bad timmong but 80'/, of breakfast was non existent no bakon no Beans no sasauge you had to shuffle through the plates to find a clean one .we wanted to use the sauna but closed until further notice ok we shall have a game of tennis just to find out they didn't have any balls so we went to buy our own and still charged to use the court. they say there was evening entertainmemt this also did not exist .the only thing I can say is the room was clean exept the hole in the bath that they had badly repaired with a blob of silicone . The room bed makers did arrive every day at 8 ish if you wanted them not don't bother with this hotel unless there giving it away and even then think twice

Wow, we assure you that first of all the snacks are available every day at the set times, the machine you refer to is out of service. The wine at dinner we serve you is of quality and we NEVER dump it in the jar and serve another customer (that's fake) The umbrellas and sunbeds in the pool are absolutely new. In breakfast the bakon, beans and sauces are one of the daily bases of breakfast as it is precisely the typical English breakfast but when you go to another country, it is good to eat the country you visit, at least I do, at least they cleaned the room (how strange) thinking well we have given you our service and something more than what you pay. Kind regards
