Liked · The room was spotlessly clean on arrival and when made up during my stay. Housekeeping staff were happy and friendly.
There was a high-tech 'Do Not Disturb' facility on the room door and the whole interior of the room and communal areas décor/finish was modern. The property benefits from a lift, and stairways with underfloor lighting.
I would describe the breakfast as a cross between a low class bistro and a greasy spoon café, but I got what I paid for. My advice would be to get there earlier rather than later in the serving period. I have no complaints for the price. So I will put it in the 'Like' column.
Disliked · 1. No bedside cabinets. There was a stool available which I used for that purpose; then otherwise nowhere to sit except on the bed.
2. Which leads to the bed - there were a load of electrics directly behind the pillows. These controlled the protruding mid-bed light, phone, a/c and TV. Understandable I suppose as nowhere else to sit but it all got in the way at night (especially the light). I accidentally hit it at least three times when turning over.
3. The shower in itself was great but the sachets of shampoo and shower gel were exceptionally resistant to being opened. I had to try all of the available ones before managing to squeeze the contents out of approximately 1mm of opening. There must be so much wastage. Also there was nowhere apart from the floor to put toiletries.

The only small criticism and advice I have is to try not to get Room 402. This is because there is a Terrace on the fourth floor, which is really nice. However, Room 402 opens onto the terrace, so you have to keep the window closed. In any event the window is also blacked out, for the same reason, so the room is always dark. If you can try and get a different room!
I've paid a lot more for a lot less.
Breakfast is included in the very reasonable price, and they make it for you when you get your groggy self down. The personell in the cafeteria is serviceminded, and interested in you being content. The manager is very pleasant, but no lickbehind, I guess assertive and genuine with a warm smile is the words I am looking for.
I stayed here 1 night, and it was a pleasent experience from the second I put my toes down on the doorstep. You can also rent a car here, cheap as dust. I'm kinda of an a h, so to keep me happy is no small achievement.
Due to a massive screw up by FTI the travel company (incredibly common for them it appears!), I then demanded a room in town and selected this hotel to have easy access to the ferry, etc. As it was carnival time, not many rooms/hotels available in town. With a little help from the receptionist, was then able to secure the suite on the top floor with a private terrace, on the sunny side. Worth every penny. The interior appointment - newly renovated- is basic, - suite or not, but the room and bath both spacious enough. It is the terrace that makes it, with a lovely view and chaises to lounge around on.
Pilar at the desk is a gem. Friendly, smiling and helpful at any time and ready for a laugh, she saved the day. As of Feb 2015 the restaurant is now officially also run by the hotel. Breakfast, cooked upon request, with eggs, bacon, coffee, juice, etc., all good. Dinner was served “on the house” the first night there as it was their opening to get the place running and it was carnival time. Local specialties made by a local, with a decent self-selected wine.
Easily a good place to stay, splurge on the upper floor for the terrace.
Car rental through the hotel at a discount.
I wouldn't want to spend a week there but for our purpose I couldn't recommend it highly enough and I'll certainly use it next time I go to La Gomera.
"rooms on the east side mean the sun in the morning whilst in the shade in the heat of the afternoon.also the rooms on the east side front onto the (quiet ) street where the carnival passes (recommended)"Read full review
"The premium suites 501 & 502 might be worth a try as they have nothing above them and have their own sun terrace: however they might suffer from lift noise?"Read full review
