A bed&breakfast hotel with a lot of history. Rooms were clean and well maintained. The breakfast was prepared with love to details. The young man who attended us was professional and efficient. The garden is beautiful and the three Alpaca house pets very cute and relaxed. A very nice stay.

My stay at Quinta Duro was only for 2 nights but the service and hotel environment was excellent. The owner and host of the hotel prepares a great breakfast everyday and went the extra mile to prepare my family a breakfast an hour earlier because we had to leave before the breakfast opened. Truly the mark of a service inclined host and genuinely kind person. I definetively reccomend Quinta Duro as your next hotel if you're travelling the northern region of spain.

Quinta Douro has one major (dis)advantage: it is not easy to find. You will need your GPS to arrive where it is located on the edge of Gijon, but having arrived and entered the park-like surroundings in which it is located, you will be thrown back a hundred years in to the summer residence of an Asturian Steel mogul. the house has been adapted to make in a comfortable hotel, but it still feels like a family home, adorned as it is by family portraits and the original furniture. T The grounds are beautifully maintained and the reception by the owner, a member of the original family and who lived there as a child, is charming. Although there is no restaurant, the breakfast is excellent, and there are restaurants of different styles not far away. The nearest, a tradtional "sidreria" provided us with a good meal in their garden, under the apple trees.

Thank you very much for your comment. I like to know that you liked my hotel and all the effort that we make to be what our clients expect. We are in the outskirts of Gijón, in the parish / neighborhood of Cabueñes. An easy option to get to the hotel is to look for it in Google Maps and it will guide you to the hotel gate. Kindest regards, Jesús Velázquez-Duro

We stayed here as part of a tour with friends. The hotel is in a secluded park next to the botanical gardens a few miles from Gijón . The attentive service and pleasant hosts were fantastic with honesty bar, garden to relax, and try the excellent Spanish local restaurant booked on our behalf by the hotel .. amazing value, local ingredients and home made cider ( no restaurant on site but not an issue)

We only had one night en route to Portugal. We met Jesus the owner at the gate and the charm of the place quickly became apparent. A lovely setting, a quiet and well appointed hotel - strongly recommended for longer stays.
